Part-2

Shaking hands with him Preet said, "Voh Meher main ab chalta hun"

"Preet tum......"

"Nahi Meher.....Mujhe ba ko doctor ke paas le kar jana hai", he lied....He knew Meher wouldn't argue on this....

Stepping out of Meher's house he felt as if the world had turned upside down....Just a few minutes ago he was so excited.....He had finally decided on proposing Meher.......He had feelings for her since very long but could never gather the courage to express it to her.....Meher had told him about a guy coming to see her but he never thought that things would get this serious.....He knew there was nothing he could do about it now that she was happy.......

A month passed by.....

Preet stopped visiting Meher's house and they hardly talked on phone.....Meher made numerous attempts to make things normal with him, but eventually she too gave up....Preet thought that it was best to maintain distance else he knew he will not be able to conceal his feelings for her......

Mehendi ceremony (8:00 p.m)

The Mann residence was decorated beautifully with numerous multi-coloured lights......Everyone was chatting excitedly, Preet stood in the corner of the hall staring at Meher, who was getting henna applied on her hands......

"Hello Ladies and Gentlemen", said a voice.....It was Heer Meher's best friend..."Jaisa ki aap sab jante hai ki aaj meri friend Meher ki mehendi ceremony hai aur voh chahti hai ke aaj uska sabse achha dost uske liye ek gaana gaye.....Toh main Meher ke behalf pe request karti hun Mr.Preet Juneja ke voh yaha aaye aur ek gaana sunaye"

Preet was stunned at the sudden mention of his name....And even more shocked to know what Meher had asked him to do.....He shot a dangerous glare in her direction only to find the typical puppy dog expression on her face which he knew he could make him do anything.......

He made his way up to the stage and taking the mike from Heer he began:

Preet caught Harman asking Meher for a dance, to which she agreed, from the corner of his eyes'

Yahi to dil churaane ka andaaz hota hai, ho

Kisi se tum pyaar karo, to phir izhaar karo

Kahin na phir der ho jaaye

Mohabbat ka gham hai, mile jitna kam hai

Yeh to zamaana nahin jaan paayega

Mera jo sanam hai, zara berahem hai

Deke mujhe voh dard muskuraayega

Dil ko aise dilbar pe bhi naaz hota hai, ho

Kisi se tum pyaar karo, to phir izhaar karo

Kahin na phir der ho jaaye

Mubaarak sama hai, khushi ka jahaan hai

Yeh din koi to naya gul khilaayega

He saw Harman pull Meher from her waist and whisper something to her which made her laugh.....The sight filled him with jealousy and he diverted his gaze to see his best friend Prem flirting with Heer........

Meher noticed the sadness in his voice and his eyes.........She wondered what made him sing such a song and as if to answer him she continued from where he left........

Nazar se baya hai yeh voh daastaan hai

Chaahat ko kaise koi bhi chhupaayega

Aashiqon ki aankhon mein yeh raaz hota hai, ho

He smiled at her as if to say
"Well, I did"..... and continued singing.....

Kisi se tum pyaar karo, to phir izhaar karo

Kahin na phir der ho jaaye

Meher:

Kisi pe aitbaar karo, to phir ikraar karo

Kahin na phir der ho jaaye

Yahi to dil churaane ka andaaz hota hai, ho

Everyone started clapping and hooting.....Some even came up to him how wonderfully he sang'.But his eyes were on Harman and Meher.......He saw him kissing Meher's cheek making her go red...........He wanted to kill Harman at that very moment but controlling himself he made a quiet exit from the party................

Royal Bar (12:00 a.m)

"It's time to close down sir", said the waiter.........

"Hmmm", said Preet and gulped the bitter liquid down his throat.........Standing up he made his way to the door........He knew he had consumed too much and he wasn't in his senses.....But that's what he wanted right to lose himself....to forget about his misery'.to forget her.......

He stumbled, trying to walk steadily on the road.......His heart was burning........Images of the evening were flashing in front of his eyes.........Meher in harman's arms..........the kiss.......He shook his head trying to get rid of him......

Suddenly his eyes were clouded with bright light and before realized he was hit by something hard and he felt his body rise in the air only to be dropped hard on the road and everything went black.............

P.S: Part 2 is up.....i guess der'll be two more pts 2 dis story.....i plan on postin d 3rd 1 tom....Guys dnt forget to leave by ur comments!!!!!
