PART 11Prem was getting very angry and he started to leave. he didn't want to discuss his personal life, specially Heer's matter, with anyone.
Preet(stopping Perm again): main jaanta hun mera app se koi kareebi rishta nahi hai magar Heer didi meri bari behan ki tarah hai.app ne un ke saath aise theek nahi kia.app aisa kaisay soch saktay hai un ke baray main.
Prem(looking at Preet in anger): dekho, main itni dair se tumhari bakwaas sirf isliye sun raha tha kyun ke tum Meher ke pati ho aur Meher meri choti behan ki tarah hai. mujhe aur bhi kaam hai. goodbye(saying this Prem finally left the meeting room)
Preet was still standing in the same place. He was shocked to see Prem's anger towards heer. He knew Preet was a stranger to him and he didnt want any stranger to interfere his life but someone had to show him the truth. Preet decided he was going to help Heer did even if it meant he has to bear prem's anger and insults.Preet was doing this for Meher's happiness but also for Heer did's happiness since she was like Kuldi to Preet.
Back at Mann house, Meher was taking care of everyone. They all felt nice to have the whole family together. Meher advised heer didi to take care of herself and her baby and not to take any stress. Heer had to follow orders of her little sister or else she would have to bear her sister's anger, which was not pleasant.
In the afternoon, Meher and Heer were cooking in the kitchen when Chahat entered.
Chahat(going near Meher): Meher maasi!
Meher(looking at Chahat with a smile): haan Chahat
Chahat(smiling widely): maasi, Preet uncle aj ayengay na?
Meher(confused): haan, lakin app kyun pooch rahi ho?
Chahat: woh mujhe un ke saath games khelnay the. kab tak ayengay?
Meher(smiling): pata nahi beta.shayad shaam tak ayay.Meher was happy to see chahat smiling. She knew the child was going through a very hard time. Children are very sensitive and these kinds of situations scare them a lot but Preet helped her to get rid of her fear.
Heer was happy to see smile back on Meher's face. In just two days, Preet had been able to bring a smile on her face. Well he was something special she thought. He even made Chahat smile and now she was his fan.
Back at the office, Preet tried to keep himself focused on the work but his mind was drifting off to heer didi and prem. He was lost in thinking when Nihaal entered his cabin.
Nihaal: hi Preet!(he takes a seat in front of Preet and notices preet's disturbed face) kya baat hai Preet tere muun par bara kyun bajay hai?
Preet(looking at nihaal): hi. nahi yaar kuch nahi.
Nihaal(teasing him):hmm lagta hai Meher bhabhi maayke gayi hai tabhi aise majnu bana betha hai
Preet(smiling and embarrassed): nahi yaar aisi baat nahi. bas woh kuch problem hai.(it was true that he was missing Meher but at the moment he was worried about Heer didi)
Nihaal(concerned): kyun kya hua? sab theek to hai?
Preet(he didnt know if he should tell Nihaal about Heer didi's situation or not. Nihaal has always helped him like a brother and he knew Nihaal wouldnt tell anyone if he told him): woh yaar Meher ki bari behan hai na.Heer didi.
Nihaal: haan(waiting for preet to continue)
Preet: Prem ko to tu jaanta hoga. woh unka husband hai.(Nihaal knew him since he had worked with him) un ke beech kaafi problems chal rahi hai.she is pregnant.aur jab yeh baat unho ne ghar walon ko batayi to unho ne un par ilzaam laga diya ke yeh bacha prem ka nahi.isliye woh ghar chor ker aa gayi.
Nihaal(shocked): mujhe pata nahi tha Prem aisa hai! disgusting!
Preet(defending Prem): nahi yaar prem aisa nahi hai. jitna mujhe Meher aur Heer didi ne bataya hai us se to yehi lagta hai ke unki maa aur behan un dono ke beech ghalat fehmiyan khari kerti hain.woh apni maa ki baat maan laitay hain.aur ab baat yahan tak pahaunch gayi.
Nihaal: yeh to theek nahi.
Preet: haan.isiliye main chahta hun unki help karun.laikin mujhe samajh nahi aa raha kaisay (Preet feeling helpless and frustrated)
Nihaal(tries to make him feel better): acha tu office main kya ker raha hai? tujhe to Meher aur Heer didi ke saath hona chahiye is waqt.unhe teri zaroorat hogi.chal ja!hum baad main iska solution nikaal laingay!
Preet(smiling): haan tu theek keh raha hai!
Nihaal(teasing): oye hoye! bhabhi ke naam se chehre par kaisi muskurahat aayi hai!(Preet gets up to leave and hits him for teasing him)
At the Mann house, all were watching videos of Heer's wedding sangeet on insistence of Chahat. The doorbell rang and Meher went to open the door.
Meher opened the door and was surprised to see Preet arriving so early. she was expecting him to come in the evening. Preet was also surprised to see Meher. she was wearing a light pink anarkali shalwar kameez. She was looking very beautiful in that dress with her hair open. He had seen her in a saree and hair tied back after marriage and this was the first time he saw her like this after their wedding. he loved her like that. He gave her a smile and entered the house. meher followed him.
Chahat(very happy to see Preet. she runs to him): Preet uncle!! app aa gayay! (looks at Meher) maasi app ne jhoot kyun kaha tha ke yeh shaam main ayenge?(Meher just smiles at her as she didnt know the answer herself. Chahat goes with Preet ahead in the room)
Preet: Chahat mera office main kaam jaldi khatam ho gaya tha to main app se jaldi milne aa gaya(saying this he looks at Meher and smiles. she was busy looking at Chahat and didnt notice this.the truth was that Preet wanted to be with meher and her family)
Preet then took out a bouquet of flowers and gave it to Heer with a card which said congratulations. Heer didi was delighted to see the flowers and the card. She was happy that at least some people were happy with her pregnancy. Preet then gave a box of chocolates to chahat and a new barbie game. She was so excited to see her gifts. She gave Preet a tight hug. He then gave mithai to maa and bauji.
Maa(happy to see her whole family smiling, all thanks to her new son-in-law, Preet): Preet beta, is ki kya zaroorat thi.
Preet(smiling at her): maa, mera dil kia to bas main le aaya
Maa: office se aa rahay ho?
Preet: ji
Maa: Meher beta, Preet ko khana de do.usay bhook lagi hogi.aur haan kamray main le jao takay woh fresh ho jayayMeher noded and took Preet to her room. Preet followed her. Meher was happy to see her family smiling. Even at a time like this, they were smiling and it was all because of Preet. Meher gave him a towel and showed him the bathroom and started to leave when Preet stopped her.
Preet(moving closer to her.he takes out a rose and gives it to her): Meher. yeh tumhare liye
Meher(she looks at him then looks at the flower. she takes it from him while their fingers brush): thanks(she smiles a bit and then leaves. preet was a nice guy she thought)
Preet was happy to see the whole family smiling. He took a shower and then came out in a towel in the room when Meher also entered. she was shocked to see him like that.She saw his muscular body for the first time and restricted herself from admitting that he was a very handsome man. she quickly shut her eyes tight before she witnessed anything else. Preet saw her and quickly grabbed his towel and clothes securely. He was embarrassed to be caught like that by his new wife.
Preet(embarrassed): woh..woh bathroom bauhat geela ho raha tha to main bahir kapray pehannay aa gaya.(Preet had a habit of changing his clothes in his room, not in the bathroom.he had tried to wear clothes in the bathroom but they always got wet so he decided to change in the room after that day.Meher was unaware of this habit of Preet's.First day of the marriage Meher woke up before him and left so she didnt know that he wore clothes in the room. Second day, Meher was at her Maa's house so she didnt get to know on that day either) maine room lock kia tha magar pata nahi kaisay…(he loos down)
meher(she was embarrassed too.her eyes were still shut): woh is room ka lock kharab hai.main khanay ke liye bulanay aayi thi.(saying this she turned around without opening her eyes. she was well aware of every direction in her room and she could walk around with her eyes closed without bumping into anything. so this was not hard for meher. she quickly left the room, closing the door)
Preet quickly grabbed his clothes and wore them. he came to the dining room and quietly sat down and ate while Meher served him, avoiding looking at him.
Later, Chahat continued playing the sangeet video of Heer's wedding. Preet was sitting beside her. He was watching the video too. He was surprised to see the bubbly Meher in the video.she was same as he had seen in the picture when he came to visit her house for the first time. This was the real Meher he thought. She was happy, always had a wide smile on her face. she also had more weight than now he noticed. He liked the way she was dancing, so freely and happily. he glanced at Meher who was sitting beside Heer didi with no smile on her face and eyes filled with tension and sadness.she was looking like a princess but a very sad princess he thought.It hurt him to see her like that.
Meher was unaware of the fact that her husband was examining her.She didnt dare to look at him even once after what happened earlier in the room.
After watching the video, Preet and Meher left for their home. They were both quiet in the car as the towel incident was still fresh in their minds. Preet finally decided to break the silence, like always.
Preet: meher, tumhe shalwar kameez pasand hai?
Meher: huh…haan
Preet: tumhe saree pehannay main problem hoti hai na?(he had noticed Meher struggling with her sarees)
Meher(fixing her saree.she changed into a saree before going back): woh mujhe aadat nahi hai pehannay ki isliye thori problem hoti hai.
Preet(smiling): tum shalwar kameez pehan lia karo.
Meher(liked his idea but remembered what her mother told her): nahi.maa ne bola hai shaadi ke baad larkiyon ko saree pehanni chahiye. aur phir maa kya sochaingi ke unki bahu saree nahi pehenti.waqt ke saath saath aadat ho jayegi mujhe.
Preet: aray meher tum jab comfortable nahi saree main to kyun pehanti ho.aur maa kuch nahi kahaingi.aur kaha bhi to main samjh dunga.so dont worry.tum shalwar kameez pehan laina.(he stops.then in a husky voice he says) aur tum shalwar kameez main achi lagti ho.
Meher(shy): thanks(she was happy that she doesnt have to wear saree anymore.she liked it that Preet was so concerned about her.no one has ever cared about her the way Preet cared about her.not even Harman she thought. Harman's name brought back all the memories back and her smile vanished.)
Preet(smiling at her): aur tum fiqr mat kerna,heer didi ki problem solve ho jayegi aur woh khush rahaingi.(Meher told herself to forget about Harman and think about Heer didi.meher gave him a smile nervously. she didnt know how they were going to solve this problem)
Preet and Meher got home and met everyone in the house. they had missed Meher a lot. after meeting everyone, Preet and Meher went to their room to sleep.
Next day, Preet took Meher for shopping. He wanted to buy new shalwar kameez for her since she only had sarees.this also gave him a chance to take out Meher who had been feeling very depressed due to Heer didi. Meher hesitantly did some shopping with Preet. As they were leaving, Meher stopped as she saw someone entering the shop. It was Harman.
