PART ' 2
It was one of those perfect Sundays when the climate was just at its best and you would love to stay outdoors. Chahat was spending the afternoon at her friends place where the two of them had their piano classes. Prem had taken heer for a lunch at the mall. The place was newly open, a good ambiance and the food was delicious. But heer was too excited to pay attention to anything except the man sitting opposite to her.
Prem looked more handsome than the first time she had seen him. She had seen him for the first time at their wedding. Her father had been the one who had seen and talked to Prem and family about the marriage. Her father was too orthodox that he believed the girl should not meet the boy before marriage. And at eighteen she was so obedient and a loving daughter who never questioned her fathers decisions. And she knew that her father will only think good for her.
Heer smiled to herself. Her husband was the most wonderful man in the world. She should be thanking her father for that. She could still remember how she sad she had been when she had first come to the city with her husband immediately after their marriage. He rarely talked to her or even smiled at her. He never looked at her adoringly and even she wasn't head over heals in love with him. She found a friend in him but she had not seen a life partner in him yet. She had always read those "happily ever after" love stories and wished for a love track in her life too. She had wanted to get a "prince charming" for her too but never got a chance to fallin love with anyone, all thanks to her dad.
As time passed by, their relationship grew. Prem started taking her out for some social events and gradually their comfort level increased. He was always very caring , very kind and very understanding. He never made any pretence of loving her, yet she felt that he did love her, for he was decent and very caring. And like that their relationship grew and now after 6 years heer knew that her father was right in selecting a husband for her. He was her "prince charming". She wondered how she had not realised that at their wedding day!!
Prem was watching her. "are you alright heer?? You look lost." He asked
"yes prem.." Heer smiled again. The two of them had the rest of the lunch as they discussed things.

A FEW DAYS later, heer was out shopping with maya and as they left the shopping mall, they passed a fortune-teller.
On an impulse Maya said, "Let's have our fortunes told."
"I can't, Maya. I have to get back to work." Heer didn't believe in all those things. But five minutes later, Heer found herself sitting with maya across a mysterious looking lady with a piercing eyes and a shawl over her head.
'This is nonsense' Heer thought. 'Why am I doing this?'
Maya asked about her husband and son and her life and was getting answers that was close to what happened and was happening to her. Heer was amazed at this that she also wanted to ask about herself and prem and about their baby's future.
'It's just for the fun of it', she told herself.
Heer watched as the old woman picked up a tarot deck and began to shuffle the cards, never looking up.
"I would like to know if-" Heer started but was silenced by the lady.
"Shhh.." The woman turned up a card. It was the picture of the Fool carrying a satchel. The woman studied it a moment. "There are many secrets for you to learn." Heer hesitated and nodded.
"Does this involve a man?"
"Yes."
She turned up another tarot card.
"This is the Lovers card."
Heer smiled. "The next card will tell what this has to say." She turned over another card. She frowned, paused, and turned up the next card. "Devil," she muttered. The fortune-teller did not say anything for some time and as Heer watched the woman turned up the next card.
"you are not the only lady in your husbands life. You have someone else with you to share his love!!" the lady stopped.
Heer got to her feet. "I don't believe in any of this," she said angrily. Maya could feel the heat rising in heer and she cursed the moment that made her drag heer to the fortune teller. Heer had started walking away as maya hurried up to reach her speed. The old woman looked up, and when she spoke, her voice was
scaring. "It does not matter what you believe."!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Heer glanced over at chahat who was looking through the cd collections in the car. They were coming back home and heer had offered to pick up chahat from her piano classes that day. Usually it was prem who picked her up in the evening. Heer had by now forgotton what had happened in the afternoon with that fortune teller. She knew that she had lot more important things to be taken care of.
"mamma' you know what.. I learned a new song to play on piano.." chahat said smiling widely. Heer smiled at this and thought, 'prem again'.!!
Chahat was an exact replica of Prem. In looks and in her actions. Chahat had the same dark brown eyes and those thick black hair like Prem. And chahat had the same taste for arts and music just like him. She had not much of her mother in her. but heer actually loved that fact. She wanted chahat to be like her father.
As they waited for the traffic to get cleared in front of them heer talked to chahat about the trip that Prem had planned for the next weekend.
"wow.. that would be nice.." chahat looked excited for a trip with her parents. "you are the best mamma.." Heer leaned forward and kissed her baby and chahat grinned again , even more broadly.
"mamma.. do you think we will have another baby at home??" Chahat asked suddenly. Heer was surprised at this. It was not a question that children never asked mothers. Even she had asked her mom for a little sister or brother when she was a kid. But chahat had never asked that to her. And Heer had never thought about another kid. She was happy with the way her life was going. She had everything a woman wanted. A husband who loved her and adored her, a lovely home that was not huge but still full of warmth and a wonderful kid.
'Was chahat worried or just curious' heer wondered why her baby asked that. "I don't know baby.. why do you ask?" heer asked.
"you see..hanan's mom had twins last month.. I saw them today when they came to school with their mom. They are identical and so cute.." chahat was happy describing the twins.
"I bet they will look cute.. may be you should talk to your papa about it" heer teased.
"about the twins??" chahat doubted.
"noo..about the baby.." heer replied.
"hmm.. they looked sweet..and hanan said they are fun.. it seems their house is a mess now and they have two of everything.. and guess what.. both cry together..and she and her dad play with the babies.." chahat giggled.
"doesn't look that much fun to me.." heer said imagining herself to be in the middle of such chaos with two kids crying in her arms and a naughty prem and chahat around her creating more chaos. The traffic was cleared now and heer took her car forward, and they headed for their apartment talking about other things. But the discussion about the baby seemed to stay with her. for a moment there was a longing inside her. Suddenly she wished there were more babies' more time with Prem.. nothing to do' except make love to him..and play with his kids'
But in their busy life finding time for romance was difficult. Still they managed to find some. But then they had never thought for another kid. Prem and heer was happy with chahat and was busy working to make her future secure. Nowadays her life was full of work, chahats little needs and other things. She and Prem used to catch up at the end of the day but never had time to indulge in it. And inspite of all this there was still love and desire. Heer knew that!

Heer parked the car in the parking lot and saw that Prems car was already there. Chahat also saw that her papa was already there. She flashed her naughty smile and ran towards the escalator while heer gathered the things.
As heer walked in she saw that chahat had already dragged in Prem to her room to play to him the new song she learned to play on piano that day. Heer went to change her dress and then later got busy with the dinner.
It was late night when heer had finally finished her chores and was back in her bedroom. Heer saw Prem was on phone with his laptop on, probably some office work, with his back turned to her. She decided to freshen up and leave him with his work till then. She felt like she and Prem had to complete some running race everyday before they could finally share a private moment.
Heer changed into her night dress and when she was back she saw him putting back his laptop into its bag. He stood tall with his naughty smile playing on his lips as she walked upto him. heer looked at Prem for a moment. She still found him breath taking, even after staying with him for six long years. He was six feet two inches tall, with that dark brown eyes and smile that still made her legs turn water.
"how was your day?" he asked as he moved forward.
"same as usual.." she grinned as she stood on tip toes to kiss him.
"hmmm'"his hand went easily to the small of her back , as he pulled her closer. "chahat said something to me.."
"and what do you think.." she stayed the way they were for a minute and then sat onto the bed.
"I 'd love to.." he had the naughty smile playing on his lips as he sat next to her. she looked out through the opened window. she saw the clear sky and the full moon .. 😆😆
"why don't we go to the roof top.." Heer was on her feet and seconds later the two of them were on the roof top of their apartment building. Heer sat on the floor with her legs stretched. Prem also sat next to her and then changed his mind and lay down with his head on her lap.
"were you serious there prem..that you love to .." heer stopped for a second and continued. "do you want another kid?"
Prem looked into her eyes. He said nothing. He looked into her eyes and his eyes did all the talking. Heer could see the love for her in those. There was a strong sexual tension building up between them, and they could both feel it. And in the middle of this perfect cloudless night, it began to rain. In a matter of minutes, they were soaked.
"oh damn.. I hate rains.." heer complained ruefully.
Prem moved close to her and said softly in her ears.. "Do you??"
And then she was in his arms and his lips were pressed against hers, and she could feel the heat racing through her body. When she finally pulled back, he said, "We have to get out of these wet clothes." He laughed. "You're right. We don't want to catch-"
But before she completed she was silenced by his lips once again. he picked her up in his arms and walked towards the stairs to reach their room..!!!!!!

Prem was literally running down the stairs of the hotel to reach his car. He was in a meeting with their company's foreign delegates regarding a new product they were launching. A meeting that came up the last minute which left him no time to inform heer about that. He was supposed to pick up chahat from her music classes in the evening and he was late by three hours now. It was five minutes to ten. But he had never thought the meeting would drag so much.
Prem was so lost in his thoughts that he didn't see the person coming opposite to him, and collided with him. Prem held onto the person and prevented him from falling down. In the process his mobile fell down. Prem bend forward and picked up his mobile and then looked at the person he just collided with. Prem's whole body went weak at the sight of him. there stood the man whom he had wished to kill with his bare hands. The man who had shattered his dreams.
The man also looked shocked at seeing Prem. Prem felt like he was taken back in time!.. before Prem said or did anything a few men in black coloured uniform suit was next to them and checking on the man. He turned away from Prem muttering a 'sorry' while prem stood still at his spot.
That night when driving back home only one question rang inside him..
"why??.. why did he appear before after a gap of six years..!!"
