Nonee sighed as the cold breeze grazed her cheeks. Behind her she heard the screen door open and without turning she spoke. "Bhav, just go. I'll be fine."
"It's not Bhav," A low voice caused her spine to shiver.
"Go away Chuck," Nonee turned the other way.
Chuck held onto her elbow and pulled her to face him. "What's wrong Nonee? You haven't replied to any of my calls or messages."
"I haven't had time." Nonee shrugged out of his grip without glancing at him.
"Why are you so upset?" Chuck asked. "Have I done something?"
"Stop pretending to care Chuck," Nonee frowned. "If you don't love me, seriously stop wasting your time."
"Is that really what you think?" Chuck let out a laugh. "You think I don't love you. Alright,"
Nonee let out a few tears as she heard his steps fade. "Chuck if you really loved me, you wouldn't have had the need to have someone else in your limo today."
Chuck stopped hearing those words from her mouth. "What?" He whispered.
"That's right." Nonee turned around and her eyes flashed. "I know you were with someone this afternoon. I don't even want to know anymore. You know before, I had half a mind to kill you till I realized; you're not worth it."
"So you saw someone with me?" Chuck asked. "Did you stop to think about why I'd have someone else with me? Other than the apparent obvious reason?"
Nonee stared back at him with a raised eyebrow. "Do you really want me to answer that with your reputation?"
"Fine, I stepped into that one myself." Chuck groaned. "God Nonee, how do I get you to understand without looking stupid?"
"Don't bother trying Bass, as of now, stupid is all you've got." Nonee shrugged.
"Fine," Chuck took a deep breath and took Nonee's hand in his. "I wasn't cheating firstly. I haven't cheated actually...since I met you though. Before that, whole other story. Anyways back to the point. Nonee, you've changed me. More than anyone else could've and I don't want you to be upset with me, because when you're upset well you don't look too nice, because your eyebrows come together and..." Chuck shook his head. "Off topic. Nonee Mehra, will you marry me?"
"What?" Nonee blinked at Chuck, unaware of what he was blabbering about.
"Will you marry me?" Chuck repeated, holding out an antique silver ring in his fingers with a large diamond shining.
"Iā" Nonee searched for words but nothing came out.
"Come with me," Chuck smiled and led her back to the room filled with their friends. "Answer here."
A bright smile was on everyone's faces when they saw the ring Chuck held. "Will you marry me Nonee?"
"Iā" She was about to nod till she frowned. "Who was the girl with you though?"
"Way to ruin the moment N," Radz muttered under her breath.
"Kuch kaha?" Mayank asked.
"Nope." Radz sighed before looking back at the couple in the spotlight.
"Who was she?" Nonee repeated.
Chuck glanced around the room until his eyes landed on the girl who was with him. She nodded and smiled. "It was Bhav,"
"Why were you with my girlfriend? And in your limo?" Nate asked loudly. "I thought we were best friends."
"Nate," Bhav stood up and went to Nate. "We were shopping for the ring,"
"Oh," Nate smiled wearily. "Oh!"
"Yeah," Bhav grinned before placing her hand on his.
"No answer Nonee?" Chuck shrugged.
Nonee glanced down at Chuck who was still kneeling down in front of her. "It's always a yes Chuck!" She giggled as he slipped the ring on her finger.
Everyone applauded when they both kissed and then slowly the excitment faded for everyone except Nonee and Chuck and so they glanced awkwardly at each other.
"Anyways, before the oh so rude interruption," Meera narrowed her eyes at Shahid. "Where were we?"
"The last dare was Avi's," Maddy grinned, seeing the sulky look on Arjun's face.
"You know it was all a dare right?" Avi asked.
"It was mean," Arjun glared up at her.
"Anywaysā" Rinki interrupted. "Who's still left?"
"Zahra, Maddy, Asma, Ravs, Shifali, and Meera," Bhav counted.
"Great," Saksham grinned at Ravjot who turned a light shade of red.
"Let's make Z go first!" Ravs clapped.
"Way to divert the attention Ravs!" Zahra narrowed her eyes at Ravs who shrugged.
"Truth or dare Zahra?" Avi asked.
"Truth! Please!" Zahra clasped her hands together and leaned her chin in them.
"Hmm," Avi groaned. "Dare's are so much easier."
"Ohh ask herā" Asma leaned over and whispered into Avi's ear.
Avi grinned happily. "That's brilliant! Can't wait to see his reaction to that."
"His? Meaning it's got something to do with PB," Preet rubbed his hands together. "Go for it Avi!"
Prem glared at his brother before exchanging a soft smile with Zahra.
"Your truth question is....What's Prem's worst quality? And don't forget, honesty is required!" Avi grinned.
Zahra grimaced before looking back at Prem who smiled at her and nodded. "His worst quality...he's too gullible, and he always sees the goodness in people who leads to bad problems," Zahra shrugged.
Prem's smile grew on his face as he saw the respect for him in Zahra's eyes.
"Awww," Kimz grinned. "That was so sweet!" She tried catching Akki's eye but he looked away, making her look back down at her lap.
Rinki saw this exchange between Kimz and Akki and decided to change it. "Akki, I need some help getting something out of my overnight bag, can you come?"
Shahid stood up. "I can help if you'd like?"
Rinki smiled. "No, you can stay here. It'll just take a second."
Akki followed Rinki out to the lobby and raised his eyebrow. "Where's your bag?"
Rinki rolled her eyes. "It's not here. That's not the point. Why are you being so rude to Kimz?"
"She ignored my calls and texts." Akki frowned.
"Umm because I dared her genius," Rinki rolled her eyes. "She dared me to send that idiotic text to Farid, and so I dared her something back." She shrugged. "It's the way it goes,"
"What idiotic text?" Akki grinned.
"If you don't knowāthen shush it now." Rinki grinned. "Just go be with her."
Akki nodded as he left. Rinki turned to find Farid smiling down at her.
"What?" Rinki frowned crossing her arms.
"It was an idiotic text?" Farid asked.
Rinki shrugged. "Depends, what did you think of it? Honestly?"
Farid grinned. "It was nice to know I wasn't imagining what you really feel." He stepped closer. "I mean I've always known you've found me totally irresistible, it was only the wait for you to say it that was intolerable."
"You're crazy, and you know that." Rinki rolled her eyes. "I mean come on Farid, you know it was a dare...why bother taking it seriously?" Rinki walked up to him. "You're honestlyā" She tried walking away, shaking her head.
Farid reached out and held onto her elbow. "I'm honestly what?"
"Incorrigible," She said with a grin.
"Yes well want to know what you are?" Farid grinned.
"What?" Rinki shrugged.
"A tease!" Farid winked at her before going back into the main room where Zahra turned on Ravs to ask her.
"Truth or dare Ravs!" Zahra rolled her eyes. "Pick something today please?"
Rinki walked in, still glaring at Farid and took her seat between Kimz and Meera.
"Fine...umm dare?" Ravs shrugged.
"This is gonna be good," Zahra rubbed her hands together.
"Wait a second!" Rinki interrupted. "What's going on? The two sweetest girls in our group are behaving horribly today!" She glanced from Zahra to Meera; who both frowned at Rinki.
"I agree with that," Nonee nodded. "Oh and B too!!"
"Me?" Bhav looked up from where her and Nate were whispering to each other. "What'd I do?"
"Nothing B, go back," Radz smirked before having her hand pulled down by Mayank.
Maddy spoke up. "Has anyone seen Shifali?"
All of them glanced at each other and then finally ended on Sameer. "What?" He shrugged.
"Umm do you know where your girlfriend is?" Shabo grinned.
"No?" Sameer groaned.
"I'll check the kitchen," Radz said.
"I'll come with." Mayank went behind her while the rest of the group dispersed to find her.
Radz stopped in the archway and Mayank bumped into her. "What?"
Radz nodded towards the kitchen and Mayank peered around her to see Shifali sitting at the counter with two empty margarita glasses around her and one still in her hand. "Aaj main upar...aaj main neeche...duniya kidhar hain?" She sang while she swayed from side to side.
"Umm Shifz?" Radz pressed her lips together to keep from laughing.
Shifali's mouth dropped open. "Radzie! You're my favourite!"
"Umm yay?" Radz stared at Mayank who was busy keeping his hand pressed against his mouth to keep from laughing at Shifali who was curiously looking at him.
"Radzāthat's not Adi," Shifali shook her head. "Tum to uske peeche pagal thi na?"
"AāAdi?" Radz mumbled. "I hate when she's drunk,"
Mayank raised his eyebrow as he supported a stumbling Shifali. "You had a crush on Adi? Nonee's brother Ad?"
"Iāuhh...it was before I met you Mayank," Radz admitted.
"I was just asking you know," Mayank smiled his trademark smile. "I don't care. You're with me now,"
Radz smiled back and suddenly Sameer came and smiled seeing Shifali.
"Great! There you are!" He smiled thanking Radz and Mayank before taking her back to the room.
Radz smiled and was about to leave when Mayank grabbed her arm. "Have I told you how pretty you look tonight?"
Radz shook her head. "No Mr. Sharma, you haven't."
"Well you do," Mayank whispered. "Just like always,"
Radz smiled as he turned her around to face him. Without any reason she felt tingles when Mayank's hand caressed her waist and slowly she wound her arms around his neck.
"I love you," He whispered.
Radz smiled. "I love you too,"
Mayank was close to leaning his face down when they both heard someone walk into the kitchen. They instantly jumped apart and saw Rinki standing there with a smirk on her face.
"Carry on Radz, maine kuch nahin dekha," Rinki shielded her eyes before grabbing the bottles of tequila from the shelves and taking it back to the room.
"Iāwe should go back," Radz smiled while Mayank grinned and led her back to the room where everyone was gathered again. "So how's our resident drunk?"
Shifali grinned. "She's a-okay!"
"Well at least she knows we're talking about her?" Rinki grinned as she poured out some tequila shots. "Oh Sameer, hold her back. We don't need her mixing the drinks."
Sameer nodded, holding on to Shifali's arms.
"Who's with me?" Rinki grinned, holding up a shot.
"I'm there," Bhav grinned.
"Are you sure about that?" Nate asked. "You don't hold it very well,"
"Nathaniel, let the girl have some fun," Chuck smiled from where Nonee was resting contently in his arms, glancing at her ring every few minutes.
"I'm in," Shahid smiled.
The room went silent as all the girls were watching him draw attention to himself as he leant down in front of the coffee table next to Bhav.
"Stop starring girls," Meera grinned from where she was chatting with Zahra. "He's taken,"
"And she has gotten tipsy for once in her life," Rinki high-fived Radz behind her. "This is going to be a fun night,"
"You mean it isn't already?" Shabo grinned. "Lookie," She pointed to where Akki and Kimz were cuddled up by the fireplace.
"Ooohhh!!" All the girls' cooed while the guys sat there grinning at them.
"Wait!" Asma grinned. "We were on Ravs' dare when we noticed Shifali disappear!"
"Thanks a lot," Ravs muttered under her breath while Saksham leaned in and gave her a quick kiss causing her cheeks to turn bright red. "And thank YOU for that,"
"Welcome," Saksham shrugged.
"Let's do the shots before we get into that," Shahid smiled as he glanced at both the girls. "On the count of three,"
Shifali leaned in and grinned. "One, two, three! GO! Run!"
Shahid, Bhav, and Rinki looked at each other before downing the shots.
"They're not running anywhere Shifali," Sameer shook his head before pulling her back towards him.
"Right," she nodded before turning to him. "You've got pretty eyes."
All the girls burst out laughing, before turning to Zahra who was looking at Ravs. "Your dare, will be to propose to Saksham!"
"I what?" Ravs gaped.
"Propose. To. Your. Boyfriend." Asma grinned. "Not that hard to understand Ravjot,"
"Shut up," Ravs glared before turning to Zahra. "Seriously?"
"Dead serious," Zahra relaxed back in to Prem's arms.
"You're feisty," Prem grinned. "I like it,"
Zahra giggled before turning red.
"Go on Ravs!" Maddy clapped.
Ravs turned to Saksham "I hate you all,"
"I love you if that helps," Saksham smiled.
Ravs sighed. "Saksham Garewal," Saksham pretended to strut like Ravs and she slapped his hand. "Sit and behave normally."
"Right," Saksham frowned before sitting back in the couch.
"Saksham, you've made my days happy and my nights peaceful," A couple 'woots' were heard from Preet until a glare from Shabo shut him up. "Anyways, will you be with me all my life and choose to make me your wife?"
"Yes Ravjot, for now and always," Saksham kissed her hands and then put his arm around her. "We're not actually getting married right?"
Ravs smirked. "No Saksham, I'll wait for YOU to propose when that happens,"
"Right," He leaned back comfortably.
"Ravs!" Avi snapped her fingers. "Your turn to choose someone,"
"Oh yes!" Ravs turned to Asma. "This is going to be sweet revenge. Asma, truth or dare?"
"Truth please," Asma smiled.
"What was your real first reaction when you met Farhan?" Ravs asked.
Asma looked back at Farhan who touched her lower back and smiled. "Honestly,"
She sighed before answering. "Hmm when Ravs first told me she met the 'perfect' guy for me, I didn't believe her. Sorry Farhan, nothing personal, I just didn't think there could be anyone out there. Then I met this idiot at Shifali's party and right then I was completely lost by his sweetness and how amazingly nice he is," Asma smiled before ducking her head into his chest.
"That was perfect," Farhan whispered to her, moving a piece of her hair from her face. "I love you,
"I love you too," she whispered back.
"So Asma, who'll it be? Maddy, Shifali or Meera?" Kimz rubbed her hands together, finally getting back to the party.
"Maddy!" Asma smiled. "Truth or dare?"
"Truth," Maddy grinned.
"What's the cheesiest romantic line you've wanted to say to Manav but always chickened out with?" Asma asked exchanging a glance with Avi.
"Hey!" Maddy frowned. "No far! She told you?!"
"Yes I did," Avi smiled. "Answer away Madhuri dear,"
"Go ahead Madhuri," Manav smiled encouragingly.
Maddy sighed before turning to Manav. "Let's flip a coin. Heads, you're mine. Tails, I'm yours."
"Awww!" All the girls smiled. "That was adorable Maddy. I don't think it's cheesy." Bhav added. "And ask Meera, I know all about cheesyness thanks to her."
"Shut up B," Meera glared.
"What's that supposed to mean?" Shahid smirked. "You're cheesy with other people?"
"Shahid, shush!" Meera frowned before turning to Maddy. "So who's next? Me or Shifz?"
"ME!" Shifali heard her name and grinned. "Pick me,"
Maddy shrugged. "I think it's Shifali,"
Meera smiled and leaned back into the couch, amused.
"So Shifali, truth or dare?"
"Dare!" Shifali smirked. "I'm up for anything."
"Isn't that interesting," Chuck commented.
"Shut up Bass," Nonee slapped his arm and he sighed.
"Anything?" Maddy nodded. "OkayāI dare you to dance and sing along to the song 'Zara Sa Jhoom Loon Mein' with Sameer."
"Okay!" Shifali clapped before standing up, pulling Sameer with her.
"Zara sa jhoom loon mein..." she leaned on him.
"Arre na re na re na," Sameer's eyes went wide seeing her so carefree.
"Zara sa ghoom loon mein..." she moved away and spun in a circle.
"Arre na re na re na," Sameer held onto her hands and pulled her towards them.
"Aa tujhe chum loon mein.." Shifali puckered her lips before Sameer backed up.
"Arre na re baba na,"
"Main chali...." Shifali shrugged away from him and ran to the other side. "Banke hawa...."
"Rabba mere, menu bacha," Sameer ran behind her and grabbed her arm, pulling her towards him. Shifali slammed into his chest and was about to fall until Sameer's arms held her protectively against his body.
"Are you alright?" He asked in a concerned voice.
Shifali nodded before blinking. "I love you Sameer," she shrugged before hugging him tightly.
"I love you too," He hugged her back. "Pagal,"
"Oye! Main pagal nahin hoon, pagal toāpagal to Meera hain," Shifali nodded.
"Main pagal nahin hoon," Meera argued.
"Regardless of all that," Bhav smiled. "It's your turn. Truth or dare?"
"Isn't Shifali supposed to ask?" Meera retorted.
"I can askāshe can pick the question or the dare." Bhav smirked.
Meera grinned knowing Shifali couldn't possibly think up of an embarrassing question given the state she was in and so she picked dare.
"This will be good," Rinki rubbed her hands together.
"You're not the one asking," Meera stuck her tongue out.
"Yes but I can of course advise something to Shifali can't I?" Rinki grinned standing up and whispering something to Shifali.
Shifali nodded. "You can tell her though,"
Rinki smirked before pulling Meera out into the lobby.
"You're not going to make me kiss someone are you?" Meera winced.
"Maybe?" Rinki smiled. "You have the dare of seducing your boyfriend and yes, in front of everyone."
"I can not do that!" Meera gasped.
"Oh but you have to!" Rinki mimicked her tone. "Good luck!"
"I hate life," Meera muttered before walking back into the room with Rinki.
"We decided she'd do her dare a bit later," Rinki announced. Everyone frowned and looked from Meera's depressed face to Rinki's happy one.
"What's going on?" Radz muttered to Bhav who shrugged.
"Shahid..." Meera crooned. "I'm cold. Would you cuddle?"
Rinki pressed her lips together in a tight line to keep from laughing.
"Is this the dare?" Shabo nudged Rinki who nodded. "She's going to seduce him,"
"I love the way you think!" Shabo clapped before watching them again.
"You guys can talk you know," Meera glared. "We're not center of attention."
She snuggled closer to Shahid who was frowning. "Meera, are you okay?"
"I'm fineāwhy? Something wrong? Are you okay?" She touched his cheek before rubbing it a few times. "I love the way you feel."
"Meera." Shahid took her hands away from him. "How much have you drunk tonight?"
Meera's mouth dropped open. "Only two margaritas," she shrugged.
"So explain what's with the extra closeness?" Shahid asked. "Not that I mind of course,"
Meera's face reddened with the comment and she smiled. "I just want to spend every moment with you,"
Shahid sighed before letting her resume her position at his side with her hand leaning on his chest. "Ohāwhen the sleepover's over, I'll get the guys settled upstairs okay? And you can be down here with the girls."
"We can't be together?" Meera pouted.
"Meera?" Shahid backed away again and frowned. "Did you just say that?"
Meera bit her lip trying to look enticing. "I did?"
"Tumhe kuch na kuch to zaroor hua hain." Shahid nodded.
"Kya? Sirf tumse pyar," Meera grinned. "Chalo mere saath," She stood up and took his hand, leading him out of the room.
As they entered the long hallway Meera cornered him at the wall. "Sorry,"
"For?" He asked. "Coming onto me?"
"Is that what you think it is?" She gasped.
Shahid shrugged. "It's what it looks like darling," He smirked seeing her reddened face. "But your blushing indicates that this is all just your dare."
"Howāhow'd you know?" Meera smiled.
Shahid took her shoulders and turned her so she was against the wall. "Because I know your every expression?"
"Shut up," Meera smiled. "Can we go back?" She glanced down at her watch. "Crap! It's like 3 in the morning."
Shahid shrugged. "I'll get them all headed upstairs; but if I have any missing guests from upstairs I am not taking responsibility," He held up his hands.
"What if it's me who's missing?" Meera raised her eyebrow.
"As long as you're with me, I have no care," Shahid grinned before kissing her cheek. "Shall we?"
Meera nodded as they both walked into the main room. "Okay guys. Sleep time,"
Everyone glanced up and started laughing uncontrollably.
"Are you already practicing? For when you have kids?" Radz laughed.
"Sleep time." Bhav mocked.
Meera rolled her eyes. "Girls stay here. Guys follow Shahid upstairs."
"Umm Meera," Nonee smiled. "I know you careāand that's why you're giving out sleeping arrangements, but we are all adults' right?" she glanced around at everyone. "Well except for Kimz but that's another story,"
"Hey!" Kimz frowned. "I don't need a sleeping arrangement either,"
"Are you saying what I think you're saying?" Meera grinned.
"I think we are," Radz smirked.
"Greatāstay outta my room and his," Meera narrowed her eyes. "Other than that, all the rooms are available."
"It's like we own a hotel," Shahid put his arm around Meera.
"Except that it's just a massive apartment," Meera sighed as they watched their friends explore throughout the house.
"Oh my god," they heard a squeal from Bhav and rushed towards her and Nate. "This picture is adorable,"
There was a large picture of a kitten and Meera shook her head. "Go sleep B, the alcohol's getting to you," she nodded at Nate who sighed before dragging her away.
"Your friends are amusing." Shahid commented as he led Meera up the stairs.
"I object. They're more along the lines of insane psychos," she nodded.
"Yesāwell that includes you as well," He kissed her cheek. "But I'm glad I stole your cell phone."
"You did what?" Meera gaped.
"How'd you think I got all the guys here?" Shahid grinned.
"YouāI'māwow." Meera shook her head as he handed her the phone back. "I figured it was all Rinki."
"Now she was a huge part too, she got us in."
"Which you could've done without her help too," Meera smiled.
"This gave her and Farid more closeness," Shahid explained.
"You spend one evening with my friends and already you know what's going on?" Meera sighed. "I know there was a reason we're together."
"More than just that," Shahid smiled.
"Right," Meera grinned as he stopped outside her room. "I should go,"
"If you want to," Shahid looked down at their interlocked hands.
"I would Shahidāif you let go of my hand,"
"Right," He let go of her hand and smiled. "Good night."
"Good night," Meera stepped inside her room and shut the door behind her.
The night which had started out as just time for the girls to bond had quickly transformed into a night where all of them had been carefree and wild even though they had the boys crash the party, she had to admit it made it much more amusing. Meera was about to step into her bathroom when the door burst open.
"I forgot something here," Shahid said quickly.
"Oh?" Meera looked around her room. "You haven't been here though,"
"I forgot you," He grinned, as he led her out of the room.
Despite the refusing arguments in her mind, Meera let him lead her to his room. She knew that right now all of her friends were with the guys they loved and she wanted that too. She was right before. The boys did make everything a tad bit more fun. Maybe co-ed sleepovers should be a monthly thing.
Insane shot? *nods* I know...try writing it! š I had tons of fun with this one though, so I REALLY hope everyone has fun reading it! š
Love,
Meeraš³
