Chapter 3

Heer holds her head.

Prem yells her name and so Heer comes back to reality and runs downstairs. She goes inside the kitchen, where everyone else is. Prem comes in. Heer hides behind Preet.

"Heer, please mujhe meri tasveer dedo."

"Kyun, Prem yeh tasveer kiski hai?"

Before Prem could reply, Preet did.

"Heer Di, main batata hoo na. Yeh tasveer aapki hi hogi. PB har waqt ise saat lekar hi ghoomte hai."

Everyone looks at Prem, but Prem's eyes are on only Heer, whose cheeks have now gone red, along with Prem's due to embarrassment.

"Arey Preet, Heer Di bhi koi kum nahi, yeh bhi har din Prem bhai ki tasveer se baate karti hain aur us tasveer ko haat me lekar hi soti hai, warna uss ke bagair to inhe neend hi nahi aati," says Ashlesha.

Prem looks at Heer and they both smile. Heer runs up to her room. She takes out Prem's photo from under her pillow and smiles. Prem comes in.

"I Love You, Prem." Heer is unknown to the fact that Prem is in the room listening to her. Prem walks up to her and wraps his arm around her waist. "I Love You too, Heer."

Heer turns to face him, his arms still wrapped around her.

"Prem, tum Yahan kab aaye."

"Jab tumne wo teen shabd kahe jise sun ne ke liye mein apni poori zindagi intazaar kar raha tha."

"Aur hum bhi."

The two turn to see Ash, Meher and Preet standing there smiling like monkeys. The three of them walk in the room. Heer looks at Prem, who still hasn't let go of her.

"Heer di, hum se kya sharmana. Ab to aap humare ghar aa kar hi rahe gi. Aur mujhe ye nazara shayad roz dekhne ko milega."

This time Heer and Prem both blush.

"Mein maa aur bauji ko yeh khush khabri suna ke aayi."

Prem looks at Preet, and Preet understanding what Prem is asking for says

"Haan, hum bhi tumhade saath chalte hai, Meher."

As soon as the three leave, Prem takes a box out of his pocket and kneels down in front of Heer.

"Heer, main ne is din ka apni puri zindagi intazaar kya hai. Jab se maine India choda, mujhe har din tumhare yaad aayi. Koi ek din bhi aisa nahi tha jo maine tumhari tasveer dekhe bina guzara ho. Heer aaj main tumse kuch maangna chahte hoo. Heer, kya tum mere saath apni puri zindagi guzarne ke liye tayaar ho. Kya tum mujhse shaadi kadogi?"

Saying this Prem extends his hand forward. Heer is speechless, so in return she just nods and places her hand in Prem's. To which Prem slides the ring on Heer's finger. Prem gets up and Heer hugs him. After all that joy a tear falls from Heer's eyes. Prem wipes away that tear with his hand and shakes his head as a 'no'. Heer hugs Prem and he returns the gesture.

On seeing this, a tear falls from the eyes of the three watching outside. Prem hears some noise outside the room and looks at Heer, who also heard that noise. They both walk outside quietly and as the three were facing backwards now; Prem and Heer pull their ears.

"Aah! PB, Heer Di chodo naa, maine kuch nahin kya. Yeh sab Meher ka idea tha, aur ise rukte rukte mein khud hi idhar ruk gaya. Waise dekha jaaye to galti hum mein se kisi ki nahi hain, andar jo ho raha tha wo to koi bhi dekhna chahe ga..."

"Prem Jiju, aap..."

Realising what she said Meher stops and says sorry.

"Arey, pagli maafi maangne ki kya zaroorat hai, ab to mein tumhara jiju ban ne hi wala hoo, aur waise bhi thumhare moo se yeh sun kar mujhe to bohot acha laga."

Witnessing this, a tear falls from Heer's eyes as she is very emotional.

Preet looks at her.

"Heer Di, aap ro kyun rahi hai, mein hoo naa, agar wo PB ko jiju bulaye gi to phir main bhi to aap ko bhabhi bulayu ga na."

Heer wipes the tear from her now red cheeks, and playfully slaps Preet on the cheek.

They all go downstairs to the living room where Balraj and Teji are sitting. Prem goes and sits next to Balraj and Heer goes and sits next to her mother resting her head in her lap.

"Kya baat hai Heer, aaj kitne dino baad tu apna sar meri god mein rakh rahi hai."

As Heer was shy of speaking, Ash spoke for her.

"Maa, woh kya hai na, yeh din Heer di ke liye bohot khaas hai, kyunki aaj Prem jiju ne Heer Di ko propose kya hai aur Heer Di ne haan keh di."

Hearing this Balraj hugs Prem and Teji kisses Heer on the forehead. Then Balraj goes and hugs Heer, after which Prem and Heer touch the feet of their elders, seeking the blessings for a happy future, yet to come...

Chapter 4

It is now the next morning and the rest of the Juneja's have reached Maan house. Everyone is sitting in the living room, except the youngsters who are in the garden. The elders are talking about the preparations for the wedding, which the youngsters got bored of listening to, so they came outside instead.

"PB, yeh bade log to aap ki shaadi ke barey mein baat kari jaayege, tab tak hum kya karenge. Aur waise bhi aap ki shaadi to theen hafto ke baad hain na!" Preet explains to Prem.

"Preet, kyun na hum ek hafte ke liye Shimla chale jaaye, waise bhi udhar humare ek ghar to hai hi, aur itna kaam karne se pehle, thoda ghoom phir lete hain," this was said by Heer, who was also getting bored listening to the elders, no matter how much she respected them she still wanted to have fun in her life.

"Aur Di, hum Kashish Di se bhi mil le ge, kab se keh rahi hai wo aane ko hum to gaye hi nahin." Meher supports Heer's idea as well as Ashlesha. The three are very eager to meet Kashish.

Everyone else was sitting there confused, not knowing what the girls were talking about. Finally Veera spoke.

"Heer bhabhi, yeh Kashish Di kaun hai?"

"Wo Garewal uncle ki beti hai, Garewal Uncle Lalit chachu aur bauji ke bohot ache dost hai. Aur Kashish hum teeno ki bohot achi dost hai."

"Heer Di, jhoot na bolo, Kashish Di ki sab se achi dost to aap hi hai," Meher answered Heer, hearing the answer Heer just stuck her tongue out at Meher and seeing this everyone laughed.

"Chalo phir, teekh hai mein jaake Maa, Bauji se baat karta hoo aur tum log packing shuru kar do, hum aaj raat ko hi nikalte hain," Prem consulted with everyone and left. The others went to their rooms and started packing knowing their parents would let them go anyway, but it was still nice to ask.

After getting everything ready, the boys stood near the doorsteps, waiting for the girls to make their way out.

'PB, yeh ladkiyan tayaar hone mein kitni der lagarahi hain, kyun na hum hi jaa kar un ki madad kar le, mein aur Harman Bhai Meher aur Ash ko late hain aur aap jaa kar Heer bhabhi ko bula lo,' Preet left with a huge grin on his face, while Prem smiled at his Brother's retrieving back.

'Hey bhagwaan, mein iss ladki ka kya karu, sirf ek hafte ke liye jaa rahe aur samaan itna le kar jaa rahi hai, jaise ke hamesha ke liye ghar chod kar jaa rahi hai, uffo ab ise band kaise karoo.'

Heer is complaining to herself about how many things Ash is taking, not noticing that she is no longer alone in the room. Heer tries to shut the zipper of her bag, when she feels strong hands on top of hers and looks up to see a pair of chocolate brown eyes staring at her hazel eyes. They have an eye lock for the next two or three minutes, when Heer suddenly realises that they might be delaying everyone further.

'Prem, mera haath chodo Prem.'

'Heer, jis haath ko hamesha pakadne ka waada karooga mein, usi haath ko kaise chodo.'

'Prem, mere haath mein dard ho raha hai, is liye keh rahi hoon.'

Hearing that, Prem quickly leaves her hand.

'Sorry, mujhe pata nahin tha.'

Heer starts to walk past Prem, but then suddenly turns around and walks up to him.

'Koi baat nahin Prem, mera haath jab tumhare haath mein ho to mujhe kabhi dard ho bhi nahin sakta, mein to bas mazak kar rahi thi. Lekin agar tumhe iss baat ki sazaa chahiye to tum mere liye yeh bag neeche le kar aa sakte ho.'

Whispering this into Prem's ears, Heer runs out of the room laughing, leaving behind a grinning Prem, who was already planning on his revenge.

Once outside, Preet, Ash, Meher and Harman quickly got in Harman's car as part of Preet's plan while Kulraj, Kiran, Veera and Sameer sit in Kiran's car, leaving behind Heer and Prem who end up sitting in Prem's car. During the car ride Heer and Prem talked about a lot of things and Heer had now fully overcome her shyness towards Prem after his proposal to her.

'Prem, tumhari Canada mein koi girlfriend thi kya?'

'Haan, thi, tum kyun pooch rahi ho?'

'Sachi, kya wo humare shaadi mein India aa sakti hain, mein us se milna chahte hoon.'

'Wo... wo- Heer, mujhe nahin pata ke wo aa payegi ya nahin.'

'Prem, please use kaho na ke tumhari shaadi hain, to use aana hi padega.'

'Heer, woh...'

'Prem, tumhari koi Girlfriend nahin thi naa.'

Prem turns around and looks at Heer surprisingly.

'Nahin thi, maine yeh sirf isliye bola thake mein dekh sakoo ke tumhe jalan hoyegi ya nahin, lekin tum to khush ho rahi thi.'

'Mein khush iss liye ho rahi thi, kyunki mein jaanti hoo ke tum uss kisam ke ladke nahin ho jiski Girlfriends hoye, aur agar koi Girlfriends hoti bhi to mujhe usey maarne mein bohut maza aata.'

Prem looks at Heer to see if she is serious, but is relieved to see her grinning like a 2 year old. Seeing Prem's face, Heer starts laughing and is later joined by Prem.

Heer looks ahead and sees the never ending line of cars in front of them, she lets out a small groan which Prem heard, and he smiled as knew how much Heer hated sitting in one place for long.

'Heer, tum fikar na karo, ab bas thoda der hai, bus dus minute.'

'Lekin Prem, dekho yeh gadiyan kitni speed par chal rahi hai, is se tez to mein pedal chal sakti hoon.'

As if hearing Heer's criticism, the traffic ahead finally moved at a normal pace, making the two reach there in less than ten minutes.
