Shabo's shot:

So what if the person she loved was getting married, that didn't mean that Meera would get married aswell. Once her mother had called of her wedding with Ajay, there was no turning back. Despite giving Prem an invitation for the wedding, Meera was unsure. Unsure if he would come. Unsure that he would come to see her sister getting married to the guy that Meera was supposed to marry a month ago. Meera smiled as she watched her cruel faith burn down in ashes as she dressed her sister up for the wedding. It was quite strange to Meera how 2 days after her mother called of Meera's wedding with Ajay, Naina had declared her love for Ajay. Meera was more then happy that Naina had said she loved Ajay because then, atleast 2 people would live happily ever after. Meera smiled at her sister all decked up and thought about herself. If only Prem had not been committed to someone else. Only if Meera had declared her love for him a little earlier. Only if.
"Thank you didi." Naina thanked her sister for not at all feeling bad about the wedding. Meera just returned the gesture with a sweet smile. A pretense. Something that Meera failed to do but still tried her hands on.
Meera quickly ran to the balcony to see the ladkewale come. She saw Ajay sitting on a horse with a sehra to cover his face. Meera loved the traditions that went up with Indian Weddings. They just added four moons to them. Meera waves at Ajay who moves the sehra from his mouth to give her a friendly, warm smile. Something that Meera always appreciated and thought of being the best fact about Ajay.
Meera then quickly goes to her room to add last minute adjustments to the way she looked. A purple, pink saari with silver earings and a light necklace with lip gloss and eyeliner. Along with a maang tika which needed some minor adjustments made. Meera stared at the mirror remembering her cruel destiny of not being able to have the one she loved, but as a wise man once said, "Love is when you find happiness in the one you love's happiness." Prem was happy with Muskaan and Meera couldn't do anything about it. She sighed, wiping the just occured tears from her cheeks while moving out in the wedding atmosphere. Something that Meera would never be able to enjoy again.

The phere's went well with the pandit chanting the mantras and Naina and Ajay taking oaths of always standing by each other in their hardest times. Meera smiled as she heard Naina and Ajay take those sacred oaths but her smile vanished out of sight when she saw Prem enter the wedding house, his face in shock aswell.
~*~
What? Prem had thought that it was Meera who was getting married to Ajay, not her sister Naina. Prem watched as he saw Meera standing there, all decked up as the bride's sister when he had thought all along that SHE was the one to get married. Why? he thought. Why hadn't she told him in the first place? Why hadn't she told him that her wedding had been called off? Prem just stared at Meera, his head not being able to think about anything. There were loads of questions in his mind, but no answers, just like always. And just then he remembered. It was his fault. Meera, HIS Meera had tried to tell him about her marriage being called off but him! He had just broken the 'lie' news of him getting married to her before she had a chance to say anything. He wanted to kill himself. Meera, she had come all the way there to tell him that she had called of her wedding just to be heartbroken by HIM with the 'lie' he had decided to put up in order to keep HER happy. Prem had a disgusted inside laugh. He had been so out of his mind lately that he didn't see what was right or what was wrong.
Prem walks over to Meera, who he knew was trying to put up a strong face but which she couldn't do. Quietly, he motions for her to meet him outside.
"I need to talk to you." he wispers in her ears.
"Okay." she says, and leads the way outside while Prem follows suit.
~*~
Why did he want to talk to her now? After all that had happened? Meera's mind raced to gather conclusions. There was a cold breeze wiggling the leaves on the trees and circulating around Prem and Meera. It looked as if it would rain any minute but Meera didn't care. She wanted to gather every moment she had with Prem so that when he did go away, she would recall those moments and live on them. Meera folds her arms around her chest and looks up at Prem.
"Why do you want to talk to me?" she asks.
"Meera, you are not getting married?" Prem asks her, despite knowing why, he still wanted to hear it from her.
Meera moves her face away from Prem's, trying not to break up. "Yes, I am not getting married. My mom called the wedding off." she answers him.
"Why?" he questions.
"Because...because she found out that Naina loved Ajay and I didn't want to ruin thier lives because if the marriage had happened, then thier lives would have been ruined." Meera states, a half truth, half lie. Half lie because her mom had really called the weddin off for HER and half truth because Naina DID love Ajay.
"What about your life Meera? Wouldn't that have been ruined aswell?" Prem questions, trying to getting her to admit what she wanted to tell him yesterday.
"What?" Meera questions, trying to move away from his questions. She knew what he was getting at but she didn't want to say it.
"Your life would have been ruined too Meera, wouldn't it not?" Prem states, more as a fact rather then a question.
Meera holds back her tears. "I don't care about my life. I just want them to be happy." she says.
Prem just smiles in a 'you-are-yourself' way. "Why don't you care about yourself?" he asks.
Meera gives Prem an angry look. "Would you stop it now? Where is Muskaan?" she asks, angry at Prem for trying to pressure her to accept the fact that she wanted to hide. She didn't want him to know the truth.
"Muskaan hai hi nahin toh kahan se laaon?" Prem states, giving an awkward laugh.
"What?" Meera questions in shock. What did he mean by 'there is no Muskaan.' Had he been lying all along?
"Haan. It was a lie Meera. I thought you were happy with Ajay. I was a fool Meera. A fool. I should have known that you wanted to tell me that your marriage had been called off the other day but I had been a fool for telling you that I was getting married to Muskaan, who didn't exist! I am sorry Meera..." Prem finally spits it all out, his eyes becoming wet and moist and yet leaving Meera in utter shock.
"And here I was thinking that you were going to leave me alone and get married to Muskaan...I had been thinking about your happiness!" Meera exclaims.
"I am sorry Meeru, I should have known earlier." Prem states, giving Meera a passionate hug which she returned in the same gesture.
"I love you Prem..." she states, enlightening her heart.
"I love you too Meeru and I promise to always stand beside you!" Prem says, smiling at the moon, who had just appeared with some stars, admist the clouds that had been hovering around just some mintues ago.
Meera smiles as she sees the clouds going away giving her the feel that all the sadness had passed away, and what now remained was the happiness.
