Part 3
Preet smoothly slowed the car down to a stop in the driveway, home from a day at work. He smiled at the thought of what was waiting for him at home. Meher. It had been almost a year since their wedding yet the thought of coming home to her still made him smile.
He ran in, pausing to smile at his mother and Heer Bhabhi who told him slyly that Meher was putting away laundry upstairs. He thanked her with a wave, knowing she would make fun of him every chance she got, her way to get payback of all the teasing him and Meher had done to her, growing up.
He paused in the doorway, smiling at the back of his wife's frame, as she folded one of his shirts. Walking up behind her, he slipped his hands around her waist, feeling her shudder. He kissed her cheek, the same spot, right near her ear where he had kissed her for the first time all those years ago. He could hear her smile.
"I missed you."
She smiled, turned around, twinkling eyes meeting her husband's who waited for her response. She grinned.
"I didn't."
His smile dropped faster then ever. A confused expression took over his face, while his wife watched on, stifling to keep her laughter in control.
"You didn't? Why?"
Meher shrugged.
"Bas asi. Itna kaam tha ghar mein, Maa aur HeerDi ki maadad karna tha, aur phir Kuldi ke baache itne shetaani hai - bas fursaat hi nahin mili!"
She turned to look at Preet's face, whose expressions were changing at the speed of lightning. Finally, he seemed to decide on anger and stalked away from her.
"Theek hai! Toh phir tum yahaan abhi tak kyun ho? Jaao naa...apne HeerDi ke paas, aur Tannu aur Vikas ke paas, bas waheen raho! Yahan, mere saath rehne ke kya zuhraat hai?"
Meher smiled at her husband and his child like pout. She walked up behind him, and gently placed her hand on his shoulder.
"Pakka?"
He shrugged her hand off his shoulder.
"Pakka."
She walked around, so she was facing him and wrapped her hands around his neck.
"Sure?"
Preet could feel his resistance breaking, as he slipped his hands around her waist, their foreheads touching slightly. He leaned in, he could hear her giggle, and he smiled slyly in response. He leaned in even closer and she dodged his lips, taunting him. Both were laughing now, lost in their own game.
Someone coughed.
Meher paused. She turned to see her niece and nephew standing in the door way, both with their hands crossed in front of them. Preet not noticing, buried his head in Meher's neck, teasing her with butterfly kisses. She squirmed. "Preet...dekho...bacha...."
"Itne bhi kya jaaldi hai jaan? Heer Bhabhi ko hone do..phir hum soochinge..."
She smacked him hard on his back, making him wince in pain. He turned to see Tannu and Vikas watching them, the latter tapping his foot impatiently. He sighed, frustrated.
"Kya yaar, tum dono bho naa, itne din ke baad biwi romance ke mood mein aaye, tum dono ko abhi aana tha kya?"
At this moment, Vikas couldn't hold the serious pose his sister had taught him and burst into childish giggles, running out of the room. Tannu watched him go, shaking her head. Kids. She turned back to face her aunt and uncle, to deliver her message.
"Heer Maami kerahi ke jaaldi neeche aao, Rajveer Uncle aur Ash Aunty aare dinner ke liye." She turned to go yell at your younger brother, leaving an excited Meher behind.
"FINALLY! It's been days since she's come - I have so much to talk to her about, chalo hato Preet, mujhe tayaar hona hai."
She wiggled out of his arms and walked into the bathroom, talking the whole way. Preet shook his head, and went to go change his shirt, making a mental note to thank Rajveer Bhaiya. Meher was his because of him.

Erm. I didn't like this part, I forced myself to write it yesterday, but now I know never to force again. Seems so bland at places. Whatever, I'm not re-writing it! Comments anyone? ๐ณ
