Happy Birthday to a lovely and sweet little girl called Shifali! 🥳 This is just a small one-shot for her birthday! I hope she has a lovely birthday and gets all that she wishes for on this special day! Wishing this day is as special as you are! 😳
Shifali sat on the sofa with her arms crossed as he knelt in front of her asking for forgiveness. 'Sorry' he said, flashing his puppy dog eyes at her, continuously apologizing for coming home so late. 'You want me to hold my ears as well?' he asked, raising his hands to his ears, but her hands came up abruptly to stop him from doing so. 'That won't be necessary' said Shifali softly, placing her hands back in their folded position as she was still angry at him for forgetting such an important day. A small smile spread across his face as he quickly grabbed her hand and led her outside to the car. 'What are you doing?' she asked, but he placed a finger on his lips, shushing her.
Yet Shifali did not keep quiet. 'Where are you taking me Imran?' she whined, wondering why he was behaving so strangely for the past couple of days. Not only had he forgotten her birthday, but he had also not been spending much time at home. Yet surprisingly she still managed to forgive him. He knew that those big beautiful eyes of him always had her melting, and he knew all too well how to use them to his advantage. As she bombarded him with questions in the car as to where they were going, he remained silent, tapping his fingers on the steering wheel nonchalantly.
She sat thinking to herself whether he had planned something for her birthday and excitement and happiness bubbled inside her. She grinned to herself, rubbing her hands in anticipation. What if he had planned a big party for her? Or maybe he was taking her for a romantic meal? As the car stopped outside the airport, Shifali frowned. She rested her hand on his arm and looked up into his deep brown eyes. 'Why are we at the airport? Are we collecting someone?' she asked innocently and he shook his head. 'No' he answered and she furrowed her brows once more.
'Are you going somewhere?' she squeaked, and quickly cleared her throat as she realised just how high her voice had become. She wouldn't be able to cope if he left her, today of all days. Imran gently shook his head for the second time and exited the car, walking around to open her door. Like a gentleman, he held his hand out for her and she anxiously placed her hand in his, slowly getting out of the car to stand opposite him. She waited as he moved to the back of the car to grab a suitcase out of the boot and she sadly pouted. 'You ARE going somewhere!' she cried, and he simply flashed her one of his killer smiles. 'No, WE are going somewhere' he responded, grasping her wrist and leading the way inside the airport.
'Huh?' was her response. Shifali followed in his stride, still registering his words and wondering if it was just another one of his jokes. 'Is this a joke?' she spluttered out loud and he laughed. His laugh was like music to her ears, it was always so hearty and full of warmth. Resting the suitcase on the floor and turning to face her, Imran lifted his hands to cup her face, grinning down at the dazed look on her face. 'No my darling wife, it's no joke. We really are going!' he said and she gasped. 'To...Paris' he added casually and Shifali's jaw dropped open. 'Really?' she asked, quickly pinching herself to see if it was not a dream. 'Ouch' she cried, as she looked up to see her still standing with the love of her life, in the airport, about to catch a flight to Paris.
Shifali instinctively bent up to leave a sweet peck on his cheek. Imran smile and cheekily pointed to his lips and cleared his throat, clearly wanting more than a lousy peck on the cheek. Shifali gave him a playful slap on the arm, yet found herself blushing uncontrollably. 'I love it when you blush' he whispered in her ear, which did not help the matter one bit. As they intertwined their fingers together and made their way to the check-in gate Shifali glanced up at Imran and beamed. They were going to Paris. The city of love.
