Hello Ms. Doris Dey,
Welcome aboard or should I say welcome back to the team of Kis Desh......!! First of all I have to thank u for coming up with this concept of eternal love that transcends all boundaries & 2ndly for choosing Harshad Chopra & Aditi Gupta for the role of Prem & Heer. Their performances & onscreen chemistry have taken us to such unthinkable heights & now we r in a point of no return & for this the chunk of my gratitude will go to Late Mr. Garry Bhinder & Vikas Goopta as well who took over the reigns after u left. They have done such a superb portrayal of the characters with their personality, nature & soul that till date we r hooked to them inspite of facing many blue moods in the show.
I hope by now u must have had an idea what we want to see & have seen so far & under no circumstances we want the basic concept & characters to change. As long as we get our eternal, surreal, unique couple Prem & Heer intact with their essence, soul & basic characteristics unblemished bound in the concept of 'they r 1' I am fine & willing to see anything u will show but the moment Prem & Heer r tampered with their basic characteristics & nature they become a ordinary regular normal couple & that is where my problem begins.
Prem is that upright, virtuous character who is an epitome of perfection. We know he is not God but he is the nearest to perfection we have ever seen on TV. He is a perfect son, brother, businessman & after he meets Heer he becomes a perfect lover. Though my TV experience is very limited but I can proudly say he is the first ever male lead who created such an impact with his virtues & perfection on me. He was destined to be Heer's from his childhood & he craved for his ideal soulmate all his life but even sacrificed that longing for his dad's promise to his friend. He can sacrifice anything for his family & can undergo any order of his parents to see them happy & yet when Heer came to his life the world changed for him. He didn't know he belonged to her but his first encounter where he saw her in Shiv Mandir changed his life forever. These 2 shared an amazing life story where they never had to speak their wishes, dreams, hopes & wants. They understood each other through their eyes which spoke volumes without uttering a word. He was willing to sacrifice his life because of his dad but on the condition Heer was safe & sound & not devastated in hands of an unsuitable groom. His love for her was so much so that he revolted against his dad for the 1st time in his life to save Heer. He was that angel that Heer cried & prayed to her deceased parents to send to rescue her. And we got that historical speech from Prem 'Prem Heer ka prateek hai aur Prem sabse zyada Heer mein samaya hai, agar Heer ke ek aansoon bhi gire toh main puri duniya ko aag laga dunga, agar kisi ne Heer ko hath bhi lagaya toh zinda gaad dunga main yehan par' & so many more golden moments we got. This is our Prem who was reserve, calm, composed, intense, passionate, loving & yet was romantic, gave some light moments to us as well but all in his own Premish way never going over the top in a loud boisterous way until he transformed into Gaurav Sharma later. They depicted this eternal love being that surreal & ethereal couple like nobody can. And one of the most important feature of Prem for which I loved the show more was because he was the backbone of the show & of Heer, he carried the show on his capable shoulders all along. Heer depended on him for her life, looked upto him for help, for support, for strength, for shelter, for love, for her obsession, for her passion. He was a hero for the first time in BT history where he was picture perfect with a strong personality who supported his family & Heer! He was the one who carried the weight of the show & Heer around.
And Heer well she was this shy, docile, submissive, reserve girl from a village of Ambala & belonged to a middle class family leading a very sheltered life all throughout. She was brought up with the notion that she was made for her other half Prem who is somewhere in Canada & will come to take her & make his own! She knew Prem was her prince charming for whom she was born & was living on the face of this earth. Their souls were bound together no matter how far they lived. She was that girl who faced many hardships & hurdles in her life with the sudden demise of her parents but her love for Prem never ever faltered. But she was so righteous that inspite of knowing Prem is her Prem she never even exposed her love & identity to Prem but infact sacrificed her love & life under the critical & severe circumstances many times. She always drew her strength from Prem & expressed her love through her eyes to him but not even once we saw a girl who was a superwoman like any other BT heroines. She was the strong silent support of Prem all along, she was his Heer!
This essence was maintained till beginning of October when the 'so called' shattering incident happened where Prem was shown bidding adieu to all of us in that bomb blast. And from then on I will sadly have to say the graph of Kis Desh started slipping. We suffered along with Heer all those months crying in her pain of losing Prem but her belief was strong all along that since they r 2 halves of the same heart, if she is living then so is Prem somewhere. This was the eternal couple we saw who portrayed if Prem is the heart then Heer is his heartbeat they were truly 2 bodies 1 soul!
But after all this when Prem returned to the show we were taken for a ride for 4 months swinging back & forth between a look alike or Prem, faking memory loss or genuine amnesia & finally the creative team did a bad patch up job of showing Prem faking all throughout with his misguided ailment of hole in the heart. Those were some traumatic episodes & we saw our Premeer were tampered in their nature & personality big time. Suddenly Heer was 'Jhansi ki rani' & Prem bouncing in a hip hop way like never before. He was a jumping Jack & Heer was all smirks & often acting as a siren! I totally was at a loss in recognising Prem & Heer then & that was personally a big deprivation to me.
And it didn't stop there. The tampering continued after this when Veera track came on after Gaurav Sharma track was put to rest. What destiny, fate & even death couldn't achieve 2 vamps did with mere kitchen politics!!! Where did the concept of eternal love disappear to? These 2 never needed words to explain anything & there misunderstandings cropped up & separated them??? How is it even possible? And Prem to us was ruined badly but I am grateful after our innumerable requests & posts & mails he was redeemed & brought back & finally they r showed as 1 again.
And now after all this again we r anticipating a track that might destroy the concept of Premeer r 1 if u r contemplating ego clashes, 'abhimaan' scenario between them. Prem & Heer r one, whatever belongs to Prem's is Heer's & vice versa, no question can arise about one being the boss over another. Why does one have to be on the top of the other in the work front, why can't they work on an equal footing? Help each other out, share the burden & responsibility, solve problems together, take decisions together instead of this supremacy of one over the other with special emphasis of power of the chair, designation & being the boss! This won't be our Premeer if these mundane differences crop up on the personal front if u r planning to take it this way.
And that prank today (14th May'09) was just not Prem. He never ever can behave that way, making Heer cry unnecessarily & then cajoling & coddling her in front of everyone. Totally against Prem's character. Please don't tamper with his character & make him a superficial jumping jack, too empty & sketchy for our taste. I am not saying he was never naughty, that he was, I didn't even mind the flirting with Heer, it was cute but his whole 'u r my boss' attitude & that prank was just not Prem. We love him as Ram & can never picture him as Krishna. Evolution is fine, we all grow & mature in our lives but our basic characteristics never changes.
Same with Heer as well. Please don't give us sudden shock of seeing her as a super hi-fi businesswoman with attitude like all other BT female leads walking all over Prem & acting all hoitytoity. That won't be our Heer! We have had enough of Tulsi, Parvati & Prerna, for a change we want a simple, demure, shy girl as a female lead who will be next to her Prem all her life fighting the problems of life, solving the issues & working together!
Our humble request to u please keep our couple as they were right from the beginning. The light that was kindled by you first & later was taken to a stature of undying flame by Late Mr. Bhinder & Vikas Goopta which has carved a niche in our hearts permanently. So we are this attached to the show, we have this unshaken loyalty to our couple, though its your show but we consider it as our very own, and Premeer after our heart who taught us in the true sense that people rise in love & not simply fall in it. So sincerely hope you will carry this trend forward without ever showing misunderstanding, separation, break ups, multiple marriages, affairs, 3rd person angle which is so prevalent in the TV world. Our show, couple & story was unique in every way & hope it will remain this unscathed. Hope to see that consistency in the characters & story telling under ur supervision as well.
