The next few days were the toughest for Preet and Prem……………during theday the two of them went to work and as they had set up a new business the job demanded more hardwork from them…………..and dedication which the two brothers put in well…………….while at home Kuldii would manage everything trying her level best……………….trying to get Heer and Meher come out of the grief of losing their only elder brother!.................never leaving them alone for even a second………….KD was more than a helping hand for Preet and Prem……………….

At night when the two would return……………KD used to sleep early dead tired after the day's work since it was a new house and new place for them………………while Preet and Prem took charge of making sure their wives slept soundly…………..as many times Meher would get up in the middle of the night………….spending the rest of it crying…………..while a tired Preet sat next to her consoling her…………that she was not alone………….and that how much Heer needed her………….and how she was her sole strength and courage…………..

There were nights when Heer would remain awake all night………….quietly sitting by the window…………expressionless and silent…………..as a helpless Prem watched her upset!................and then at times Prem would put a hand on her shoulder…………as a gesture that she was not alone…………he would hug her…………..when she wept her heart out of pain and grief…………….and then Prem would wipe away her tears with his hands…………spending the rest of the night talking to her………….while she just listened quietly!...................ahile at other times the two would just sit hand in hand………….staring into nowhere….............as Heer would find hard even to close her eyes…………fearing she might loose someone special again when she got up!...................

Minutes used to pass into hours and hours into days…………..and days turned into months…………….more than a month later…………just like other previous nights…………..Prem was in his room with Heer and the two sat under thw window of the room………….with Heer leaning herself against Prem with her head resting on his shoulder……………

Heer says softly--- Prem……….jabsey main tumhaari zindagi mein aayi hoon…………..meri wajah se…………humeshaa tumhe takleef hii hui hai…………..hameshaa mushkil mein hii daala hai mainne tumhe…………….aur ek bar phir tum meri wajah se………..apne parivaar se durr ho gaye…………..apne saarey rishtey todh aaye………….I'm sorry Prem…………..I'm sorry to put u through this……………….

Prem was taken aback………….all these days he had waited for Heer to talk to her…………..but today when she did………….Prem wanted her to just shut her mouth up!................Prem didn't know how to tell her………….what she meant for him?!...................He stared at Heer not knowing what to say?!...................

Prem was taken aback to listen such pessimistic words from Heer…………..the girl he had met and fallen in love with……..seemed to have been lost somewhere!.............and Prem was determined to not to let that happen…………….he would make sure……….his Heer didn't feel sad…………alone……….and unwanted!................

He makes Heer face him…………and embracing her face with his hands he says embracing her face with his hands and looking into her eyes………..gently he begins by saying--- Nahiin Heer aisa nahiin hai……………tum mere liye kya ho isska………..isska ehsees bhi nahiin hai tumhe!..........jab se tum meri zindagi mein aayi ho………..kya hua agggar mujhe takleefon kaa saamnaa karnaa padhaa…………yaa phir mushkilein jhelnii padii?!.............tum mere saath thi…………..tabhi toh mujhmein unn museebaton kaa saamnaa karney kii himmat thi…………..tumhaare pyaar ne mujhe ek nayi zindagi dii hai Heer………….uss zindagi mein kayi naye ehsaas diye hain…………..aur tumhaare saath ne uss nayi zindagi ko jeeney ka maksad diya hai…………………Heer tum mere liye sab kuch ho……………….Jiss tarah yeh sach hai kii mainne maa ke binaa rehney kii kabhi kalpana bhi nahiin kii thi………….ussi tarah yeh bhi sach hai Heer kii…………….tumhaare bina ek pal bhi guzaarna mere liye mumkin nahiin hai…………..

Heer frees herself from Prem by moving his hands from her shoulders…………….and getting up she says angrily and loudly--- Lekin yeh bhi toh sach hai naa Prem kii mainne tumhe ajj tak koi khushi nahiin dii?.....................

Prem stares at her and then says angrily……………..
