Recap: I came back to the present and found myself still staring at him. He was so innocent, so nice, and so adorable. Why did God give HIM all the pain? But now I wouldn't let him be in any sort of trouble. I will make these three months, the best time in his entire life. This will be the time he will be away from all the sorrows and stresses of life. Now'..he will just enjoy life. From tomorrow, he will live a different life'..not as my husband but as a friend, a really close friend.
PART 11
Prem's P.O.V:
The hot rays of the sun hit my eyes disturbing my sleep. I slowly opened my eyes and got up. While rubbing my eyes and stretching, I tried to recall the events from last night but found it quite difficult to do so. Oh God'..I hate these hangovers. I tried my best to remember what happened last night but I couldn't. All I remember was that someone was stroking my hair and I remembered the touch. I was dead sure that it was Heer. I kept praying that I hadn't said or done anything wrong while being drunk.
I got up and headed to the bathroom to freshen up. After taking a warm shower to lessen my tension, I walked out and got dressed into deep blue colored jeans and a light blue colored, polo shirt. I didn't need to comb my hair because it was still freshly cut. I put on my favorite cologne and my watch. But my head was aching so much. This was one of the worst hangovers I ever had. Thank god it was Sunday today. No going to the hotel as my day was off being the Personal Advisor. I turned to go towards the door but stopped instantly on my track. There she stood'holding a glass of something that looked like lemon juice. I looked at her lotus shaped, brown eyes and just wanted to drown in them. Her cute little nose made me want to snuggle it. Her little smile made me want to smile and I guess I was smiling back to her. Her long black hair covered her back while her bangs were clipped back loosely. Her curves were gracefully visible in the simple lime colored salwar, which had tiny silver flowers here and there. Her silver studs were twinkling as the sunlight flashed at it. She looked so simple but I could swear'..I had NEVER seen such a beautiful girl in my life. And then, it finally caught my attention. I looked at the parting of her hair which was filled with sindoor. Then I looked around her neck and I saw the delicate mangalsutra resting there. I got a sudden feel of happiness in my heart after seeing her with the sindoor and mangulsutra. It looked evermore attractive. She was mine'..or at least for 3 months, she was my wife''MY wife.

I was brought back to reality after she snapped her fingers in front of me. Wow.....I was just staring at her this whole time. I gave her a smile to lighten the situation and she gave back a little laugh. Man'..she looked even more beautiful when she laughed. Great Prem'..you are going down the wrong path. I had to stop getting to close to her. She might think I am a psycho who keeps staring at her. But I just can't stop it. Its liked I am getting addicted to her or something.
"How are you feeling'" she asked with a smile. I remembered her being close to me last night. She must have known I was drunk'..but then why is she acting like noting happened.
"I feel horrible'.." I answered truthfully giving her my puppy-face. She laughed and then held out the glass to me.
"Well obviously you're going to have a hangover after drinking so much" she said with a smirk. "Drink this'..you'll feel better'" she ordered me.
I took the glass from her hand and gave it "I-don't-want-to-drink-this" look to it.
"You better drink it'" she said as she walked over to the bed and started cleaning it. I felt like irritating her.
"What if I don't?" I asked her with a grin. She didn't look up and concentrated on fixing the pillows on the bed. She placed the puffed the pillows with her soft hands and grinned back.
"Then I will tell Maa what you have been doing''" she replied after making the bed nice and tidy. She looked up at me and crossed her hands across her chest. I couldn't stop the smile on my face from appearing.
"She won't be happy to know her dear son's WONDERFUL deeds'." She said raising her eyebrow. I looked at the glass and then back to her. She smiled back to me.
"Don't worry'..its not that bad'.just lemon juice. Your headache will get less'" she said and then left the room.
What was all that about? Was that the same girl I kidnapped? But I guess she wasn't that bad at all. I took a sip from it and found it to be pretty decent. And that one sip acted as a sudden force that took away the headache. It was just magic.
"Thanks Heer'." I whispered to myself and headed out to the living room. Today was Preet's operation. I had already deposited the check that Heer gave me for Preet's operation. And today was the day; I had to kick those two jerks out of Heer's house. But how was I supposed to do that? I left the thought aside because this was supposed to be handled in the afternoon. As of now I was starving. I walked out in the living room and stopped in my tracks once again. For the second time this day, Heer surprised me. And this time, she made me want to lov- No Prem'.she is just being nice. Don't get carried away.
But while my brain kept giving me these warnings; my heart kept getting pulled towards her. She was serving MY mom breakfast and the smile on Maa's face told me that she loved this girl. Scary thought but who wouldn't like her? I could just wish that this WAS pretence. She can't get close to a person in just two days?
While I was thinking all this, Maa called me.
"Prem'.come here beta. Look, Heer made the breakfast today'." She said with a certain pride for her bahu. I walked towards her, took her ashirwaad, and sat next to her.
"Looks like I am going to starve myself today" I said smirking at Heer. Her mouth dropped open and she gave me a glare. That glare just made me want to faint. So looked even more attractive when she was angry.
I looked at Maa and she gave me a disapproving glare. I stopped smiling and looked down at the food. I ripped a piece off the paratha and put it in my mouth.
YUMMMMMMMMM''.! This is so good.
"Ab bol'.kaisa hai'?" Maa said raising her eyebrow. I looked at Heer who had a nervous look on her face. I smile and nodded my head.
"Accha hai'." I said and she finally smiled.
"Accha Prem'.." I switched my concentration back to Maa as she spoke up. "I have to go to Haridwar'." She said.
"Haridwar'? But why?" I asked.
"Mannat hai beta'..for Preet's recovery''I have to go" she said softening up.
"But Maa'.I have to stay here till Preet recovers'.and I can't let you go alone'" I tried to explain to her. That's when she decided to speak up.
"I'll go with her'" offered Heer with a determined look. I just wanted to stuff all the parathas into her mouth. Why did she have to offer THAT? And why did I really even care?
"No beta'..you don't have to go. Prem'remember Meera aunty?" she asked me.
"Isn't she your childhood friend?" I asked.
"Yes'.and she invited me to her house in Haridwar'..so neither of you have to worry for me. You just concentrate on spending time with each other and handling Preet's situation'I trust you completely and now that you have a helper with you, it will surely be easier. And this way, you guys won't have to worry about me. I'll be fine and you both will be able to spend some time together'." She said all this in trying to lure me into agreeing with her. How do mothers do that?
"You can never be trouble for me Maa" I said softly. She smiled and gently caressed my cheeks.
"I know beta'.but I have to go'..and I want you both to adjust together" she said. I looked at Heer who was just smiling with her eyes lowered. But something told me that she wasn't quite happy with this idea of us being alone together. How did I know this? Well I guess I know her too much already.
"I will have to leave tonight because I want to back as soon as possible. Is that fine with you?" she asked.
"Of course Maa'.I'll get you tickets ready'" I got up and called the railway station to reserve a ticket for Maa. Her train would leave at 8:30 at night. And after that'..it's just me and Heer. Great'.more time that I had to spend with her.
After we all finished breakfast, Maa and Heer went into the kitchen to clean up. I checked out some e-mails from the hotel and office. I had one e-mail from Arjun, my best friend from the office, and it said "NEW BOSS" on it.
That's right! From Monday, we were going to have a new boss in our hotel. I clicked read and the e-mail opened.
"Hey dude'..I just came back from Jaipur. I know I haven't been in contact much but all the wedding preparations a going on and hardly get time to do anything else. But the wedding day is fixed! The wedding is 3 weeks from today. Maya and I are so excited'..You so have to come'..Don't care about any excuses. YOU ARE COMING!!!! Tell me how Preet is'..I talked to the old lady and she said that you have managed to give in the amount'.how? And is his condition improving? And guess what? From tomorrow we are having a new boss. I was so tried from that old grumpy guy'..But I hope this one is nice. Maya told me his name is Ram Gupta'..I heard he is a very good business man and very hard-working'.Just hope that everything turns out alright.'..anyways take care'.bye'."
I had been smiling all throughout the message until his name popped up. MY NEW BOSS''.RAM GUPTA!
Ram Gupta''that's bauji's best friend who shifted to America. Ram Uncle had always been there for dad. But when he moved, we all lost contact. Now he was back. And he was my new boss. I guess my life was full of every twist possible in this world. Sometimes God is really nice to me and sometimes he takes away everything from me. I wondered what Heer was? Was she in my life because God wanted to help me out or was he giving me this happiness just to take her away from me?
Who was I kidding? She has to go one day. And I don't know why, or maybe I do know why, but I didn't want her to leave. Not after 3 months and not ever.
"Prem'" I heard Maa call me from behind. I turned around and saw her.
"Ji Maa'" I said.
"Beta did you get the ticket? What time do I have to be ready?" she asked me.
"You train leaves at 8:30'." I told her. "But what about your return ticket?" I asked her curiously.
"Don't worry about that'.I will be there for a while'..and I will get it taken care off'..I just want to go for yatra and ask all the Gods for the well-being of all my kids'.." she said patting my cheek. I gave her a smile as she walked past me into her room to pack everything.
I turned to go towards my room when I remembered that she was still in the kitchen. I found myself walking towards the kitchen. As I slowly walked in, I saw her slender figure cutting strawberries on the counter. Strawberries were my favorite'..but why was she cutting them.
"Heer'." I said softly. I saw her jump and cut her finger.
"Ouch" she whispered. I quickly went towards her and grabbed her finger. I quickly put her finger in mouth and tried to take away the pain I had just given her. She was frowning and her eyes were closed. After a few seconds she opened her eyes and looked at me. I let go of her finger and headed to take an ice cube out from the fridge. I took a small piece and went back to gently rub the cut. As I did so'.I kept cursing myself for hurting her once again.
"I'm really sorry'.I didn't mean to scare you. Does it hurt a lot?" I asked her softly while rubbing the ice over her cut. She gave me her sweet smile.
"It's not your fault'..I was just clumsy'don't worry it's just a cut'." She said. "Forget about this'.." she said and picked up the bowl with the strawberries. "Maa said you really like strawberries'..so I cut some for you" she said raising the bowl to me. Her smile made me forget everything.
This girl was so different. Why does she have to be so nice? I watched her pick out a rose colored piece from the bowl and approach it towards my mouth. Her eyes indicated me to eat it. I smiled and ate the strawberry. She gave me her sweetest smile once again and held out her hand for me to shake.
"Friends''?" she asked politely. Only an idiot would say no to this and I am sure that I was not going to let this chance slip out. I shook hands with her.
"Friends'.." I said smiling back to her.
She handed me the bowl and headed out of the kitchen. But she stopped and turned around after taking a few steps. Now this was crazy. How did I know what she might be thinking? Was a turning into a mind-reader or something? She wants to ask me about her house and if I kicked those two jerks out or not'.but she is hesitating to ask me? That had to be it.
"Um'..can I ask you something?" she started off. I nodded a yes, knowing exactly what she was about to say. I saw her fiddle with her dupatta as she was not able to get the words across.
"Don't worry'." I assured her. "I already told them to leave your house'..when called at your house; the servant told me that both your step-dad and Ranbir have left the city and moved out. I am about to go there and check it out'..you want to come?" I asked her kindly.
I saw the confused expression on her face.
"How'd you know I was going to ask you that'?" she asked me with a smirk. Now wasn't that the same question I had been asking myself.
"I don't know'.but I just guess I had a feeling that you wanted to know this'" I answered nervously. She smiled at me and told me she would come.
"Th-" I interrupted her.
"You are breaking the rule you know'..dosti me no thanks and no sorry'." I told her.
"Right" she said and walked off giving me her smile while I gave away my heart.

I decided to call up Arjun and talk to him after this whole week. I hadn't talked to him for 2 weeks. He was a great friend. He had helped me as much as possible into helping Preet. But I never told him much about Preet because he was soon to get married with the cutest girl ever and I didn't have the courage to spoil his excitement. I dialed up his number and called him. It was ringing and the finally someone picked up.
"Hello'" said a sweet girl.
"Hey chipkali'..what's up?" I asked recognizing Maya's voice.
"PREM'..how are you? I missed you so much'" she said in an exciting tone.
"Me too'..so ready to become Mrs. Arjun Punj'." I said with a smile.
"I guess so'..hey why don't you come over for dinner today'.I can't wait to see you" she offered.
"I would but Maa's going to Haridwar today at 8:30'..it will get to late'.." I told her.
"Please bhaiya'.." she said cutely. Now how was I supposed to disappoint this angel?
"Ummm'..fine''but'"
"But what'?" she asked.
"I'..I might not be alone'.." I said spilling the beans.
There was silence on the other side of the phone and I knew what she might be thinking.
"I can't believe this''did you finally get a girl for yourself?" she asked all excited to know.
"Well you just have to wait'.we will be there by 9'..is that fine?" I asked trying to change the topic.
"What's her name'' is she pretty'..is she nice '..Does she like you? Are you in love with each other'.?" she asked all these questions at once. This was so typical of Maya. I just smiled at her excitement.
"Bye'" I said.
"Wait'.wait at least tell me her name'.please bhaiya'.." she pleaded.
"Fine''her name is Heer" I said. A smile automatically appeared on my face.
"Heer''that's such a beautiful name'..tell me more" she said jumping with excitement.
"NO''.now bye'.see you at 9'..and NO more questions" I said and hung up.
She was like my little kitten. Always cheering me up whenever I am sad. But her questions did get me thinking. Yes'.Heer was "without a question" BEAUTIFUL. Her niceness was sweeter then sugar. I think she liked me but just as a friend. And her last question'."Are you in love with each other?" I don't know about her, but I think that I really am. I was falling head over heels for her. Now was this LOVE or just an attraction'..I still had to figure it out.
