After settling everything with Preet , his best friend over phone, he disconnected the line and turned to face his sister.

"We are returning back right?", Jiya asked in a hopeful tone

"Not until I find out the truth.", Prem answered.

"And when are you going to find out the truth?"

"Soon'", he concluded and headed to his room.

The next few days were difficult for Prem as he failed to concentrate on his work and his mind seemed to drift towards Heer. His uneasiness did tell him something was wrong with her but he couldn't muster up his courage to face her again.

Day by day Prem's frustration increased as he lost control over himself and their hotel work was getting affected. The one and half years have changed a lot, he is no more a mere employee in Arora chain of hotels but a reputed business partner of Jai Arora, his mentor, his father figure, his God.

Prem was shuffling through some files, when his phone rang, he checked and smiled a bit, It was Jai's call.

"hello Uncle", he greeted

"Hello bachcha", Jai answered back. "how are we doing today?", he asked in his usual jolly self.

"Perfect uncle", he answered

"Prem you cant lie beta",

A silence prevailed and Jai chose to speak.

"You can tell me if you want"

"Its nothing uncle"

"Are you sure beta?"

"Yes I am"

"Premm", he stressed "Something is definitely wrong with you because the past few days' updates are showing your negligence towards your work, for the first time in 2 years, are you all right beta?"

Prem kept quiet.

"Take few days off", he offered

"But uncle'"

"No ifs and buts, take a break , go home and relax"

"ok", he concluded giving in

"take care", Jai wished and hung up.

Prem grabbed the coat and headed out of the office.He leaned his head on the head board, relaxing his tensed muscles while the chauffer drove.

Prem sprinted inside the hospital and after enquiring their whereabouts he reached towards his destination.

Panting a few times , catching his breath, he looked around for the sight of some resembling faces ,but found none. Atlast he found a doctor and he stopped his way.

"Doctor? Mr. Balraaj Mann and Teji Mann?",

"you?"

"I am family."

"well they are no more."

Prem looked pale with the answer and somehow spoke "what? How?"

"Look Mr.."

"Prem"

"Mr. Prem, the accident was really severe and they were brought in such a critical condition that they could not be saved"

Prem's breathing pace increased as he asked the next question.

"And H..Heer?"

"By god's grace, she's safe"

Prem let out a sigh of relief and ran his hand through his hair.

"But'"

"But..but what?", he asked confused.

"Her legs are paralyzed, she will not be able to walk", the doctor announced and Prem's world stopped and the declaration.

His senses numbed , and he felt no emotions running until he found Jia's hand over his shoulder. He turned and looked at her, her tear strained face clearly telling him that she has heard everything. Not bothering to ask of her arrival he hugged her tightly crying his heart out while she to cried stroking his back.

Prem and Jia made their way to the room allotted to Heer. Jia pushed Prem inside the room and chose to stay out, well aware of Heer's need.

Prem groggily made his way towards her bed. His heart ripped to shreds' seeing her present condition with pipes and needles all over her body.

He sat on the tool beside her, taking her hand into his and stroking it lightly.

"Prem", she murmured in an inaudible tone and Prem looked at her teary eyed.

Heer opened her eyes with great difficulty and stared at Prem. Both of them looked at each other while silent tears made their way down their cheeks.

"Prem'we lost ma papa", she spoke up breathily and started crying. Prem in answer stroked her hair and kissed her knuckles to calm her down.

"Prem I lost everything", she said.

"Shhh' ", Prem instructed

"Who said you lost everything? You have akash bhaiya, bhabi, you have Jia , you have ME", he stressed and Heer clutched his hand tightly.

"Be with me Prem", she uttered in pain

"Forever", he stroked her hair and wiped her tears.

Prem came back to his senses as the car screeched to halt. He realized he is back home and therefore he got out of the car, making his way towards the door. He was about to ring the bell when he found a envelope on the doormat with URGENT , imprinted on it.

Knowing fully well what can be in the contents he picked it hastily and tore open the letter where it read "Have you decided yet?"

Prem focused on the printed words on the letter when his phone rang, breaking his concentration. He took out the cell irritated and froze at the caller name, it was Preet.
