Chapter 40
"Patha nahi kab tu shaadi karke iss ghar se jayage!!!" shouted Neel as Kiran reached the edge of the stair case, causing her foot to slip.
"KIRAAANNNN!!!" everyone shouted.
Neel reached and grabbed her arm, pulling her towards himself to save her from falling. However, he pulled to hard causing her to bump into him hard and fall over on top of him. They awkwardly looked at each other for a moment, before everyone came rushing to see if the two were okay.
"Are you alright Kiran!?" asked a panicky Heer.
"Yeah di…I'm fine" replied Kiran, not once looking at Neel.
"Oye Hello…koi mujhse bhi poocho ki mein kaisa hoon…I'm the one that had the load fall on him" said Neel.
"Who are you calling load?" asked Kiran, turning to face him.
"You!" said Neel.
"You know what, I'm just going to end this fight forever…I'm NEVER going to talk to you again!" said an angry Kiran as she stalked off towards her room. Everyone looked at Neel with angry expressions.
"What!?!" asked Neel.
"That was very mean, Neel" said Heer, while shaking her head.
"Haan beta, I think you went too far. If you had said that to any other girl, she would have killed you right this moment" said his mother, Nishi.
Prem walked up to Neel and put his hand on his shoulder saying "I think you should go say sorry to her."
Neel started feeling a bit guilty and said "fine" as he left for her room, while everyone went back to their work.

"Patha nahi apna aap ko kiya samajtha hai…gadha" Kiran said to herself as she opened one of her suitcases to put her clothes in her closet, until she heard a knock at her door.
"Come in" said Kiran as she saw Neel walk in. She rolled her eyes at him and went back to her task.
"I'm sorry" said Neel as he walked closer to her, but she just ignored him.
"I said I'm sorry" Neel repeated, but she still didn't respond, so he went up to her and turned her around so she could face him.
"I'm sorry for what I said earlier" said Neel.
"And…" Kiran said quietly, leaving Neel confused.
"And ??" he repeated.
"And what do you want me to do about it?" she said.
"To forgive me" Neel said.
"And what makes you think that I'm going to forgive you for it? Oh, I get it, everyone probably sent you up here to apologize to me…well, for their happiness and peace of mind, you can tell them I forgave you…And now you may leave" Kiran said as she returned to her task.
"They did send me up here to say sorry, but I came here on my own will. I didn't have to come, but I did because I know I went a little too far in what I said to you" said Neel.
"A little?" asked Kiran with her eyebrows raised.
"Okay, I went way too far" Neel said, while giving in to her, but continued saying "but you provoked me! Whenever you come, you always irritate me and…"
Kiran cut in saying "I provoked you...Ash said the same thing to Preet, but he didn't go as far as you did. I joke around with everyone and no one else minds, in fact they usually all join in, but you have to be a spoilsport and kill the mood every time. We're just joking with you, if we can't joke with our close ones, then who are we supposed to fool around with?"
"I…uhh…"started Neel, but Kiran's reply left him dumbfounded. After a moment he finally realized how to reply saying "Fine, I guess I do overreact, but whenever anyone jokes around with me, then it has to do with my marriage. I wouldn't mind if it was for anything else, but no it has to be about my marriage."
"Yaar…then get married! The joking will end then, why are you stalling? Do you love someone? Everyone is ready to let you have a love marriage, so what's the problem? Doesn't she love you back?" said Kiran.
"Woahhh…hold on there. I never said I was in love. I'm just not ready for a commitment yet and I haven't even found that perfect girl either, that I'd want to spend the rest of my life with. Look at how in love Prem-Heer and Amar-Guneet are. I want to find someone that I can truly love, not just be thrown into a well" said Neel.
"Awww…I never knew you had such soft feelings" said Kiran as she sighed at what he said.
"Oohh…no, no, no, no, no! I told you all this, so now it's your job to get everyone off my case!" said Neel.
"Teek hai…but only if you don't fight with me to that extent anymore, because I still enjoy fighting with you" said Kiran.
"Deal!" said Neel smiling, as both of them headed back downstairs.
Everyone was sitting joking around, when the saw both Neel and Kiran walk down smiling.
"What happened…both Neel and Kiran are smiling rather than fighting? Am I going blind?" Preet asked Ash.
"If that's the case, then I think I'm going blind too" Swaran said.
"What happened beta…why aren't you arguing?" asked Kanwal.
"What is this uncle…when we fight, you all complain and when we don't, you all still complain" said Neel as he sat down between Karan and Prem.
"We made a deal. If you all don't want us to fight anymore then you can't bother Neel about his marriage anymore" said Kiran.
"You, Kiran, as in K.I.R.A.N are saying this?" Preet said shocked.
"Don't ask Preet…we made a deal, so just go along with what we want" Kiran replied.
"Whatever you say" Preet said as all the ladies left to make lunch.

It was late in the evening after dinner, when Prem entered the study looking for Heer.
"Papa…have you seen Heer?" Prem asked Kanwal.
Preet and Neel came up from behind him, laughing as Prem asked them "What's so funny?"
"Nothing PB. It's just that it's funny how we know more about bhabi's whereabouts than you" said Preet as he Neel joined the men in the study.
"She took Nick and Kunal with her to the gurdwara" said Neel.
Prem then turned to leave the room, when Preet said "Oye, bhabhi ke ghulam, zara roko! Until bhabi comes back, why don't you sit and chat with us!?"
"Maar kahna chahta ho tum kiya? I'm going to sleep" said Prem as he left for his room.

It was almost 11 at night, when Heer finally made her way to her bedroom. She had been so busy all day that she hadn't found time to mingle with Prem at all since their morning encounter. Now, as she walked to her room after putting Kunal to bed. She slowly opened the door and headed inside to find Prem not there. Suddenly, someone slipped their arms around her waist, pulling Heer closer to them.
Heer stood there with her back to Prem's chest as he whispered into her ear "I missed you" as he rested his head on her shoulder.
"Pp…Prem..." Heer started, but couldn't continue as Prem turned her around so she could face him.
"Shhh…" Prem said before he kissed her. A while later, they broke apart and Prem headed towards his closet. Heer looked at him confused. A few moments, he returned with a small box in his hand. He opened it and took out a silver locket, with a heart that had 'PH' engraved on it. He moved behind Heer and put it on for her. She looked at it and then turned around to face him and said "you didn't need to get me this…", however Prem silenced her with a kiss and his love.

It was early the next morning and Prem was sleeping, when he heard something fall. He slowly opened his eyes to find Heer not next to him. He quickly got up and found her all ready, wearing a black Patiala salwar kameez suit and picking up fallen files from the floor.
"Heer…why are you up so early? It's not even 8 yet?" Prem asked wearily as he watched her quickly gather some stuff.
"You used to be a heavy sleeper…what happened? Aaj toh badi jaaldi uht gaye?" Heer asked as she went to grab her cell phone.
"I heard something and then you weren't sleeping, so I got worried" Prem said " but where are you going?"
"I got a call from the office, so I have to go there" Heer replied as she dialed a number on her cell. A few moments later, she said into the phone "Preet…are you ready?Teek hai, meet me downstairs in 5 minutes" and quickly hung up.
Prem walked up behind her and hugged her from the back asking "Do you have to go? Weren't you supposed to have the next 2 weeks off?"
"You're stealing the dialogue I'm going to be using in a few weeks" Heer replied.
"Well, if you stayed then I wouldn't have to use it" Prem said.
"Well, I still have to go, but I'll be done around lunch, so maybe you can come up and check out the final touches being done to your office and then we can go out for lunch!" said Heer.
"Bas wohi toh ik cheez hai jiska mujhe intezar hai…having lunch with you" said Prem as he released her and pouted.
Heer kissed his cheek and said "well…I guess I'll see you then!" as she left.

It was around noon, when Prem entered Heer's office. This was the same building where Neel's office was and now his would be too. Ash and Kiran insisted on coming along with Neel and Prem too, but they soon saw a small shop and headed there, promising to meet up with them soon. However, Neel left with them as well as he needed to grab a few things too. So now it was just Prem. He walked towards the receptionist and said "Excuse me…can you tell me where your Heer ma'am's cabin is? The receptionist looked up at Prem and stared at him in awe. He snapped his fingers in front of her face and asked again "Hello…can. you. tell. me. where. heer's. cabin. is?"
"Jjj…ji, sir woh ma'am busy hai. You can wait for her here" the receptionist replied.
Prem sighed and said "I'll go wait in her office, can you just show me where it is?"
"Sorry sir, but I can't let you go" she said.
Suddenly Preet came up from behind Prem and walked over to him saying "What happened PB, why are you waiting here?"
"Heer's busy and this receptionist won't let me go wait in her office" he said.
Preet turned to the receptionist and asked her "What did I tell you this morning!?"
"Jjii, jii sir…" stuttered the receptionist.
"Yeh ji ji kiya laga rakha hai…Did I not tell you this morning that Heer bhabi's husband is coming today, so let him go wait in her office" he said glaring at her.
The receptionists face suddenly fell, hearing this piece of information as Preet continued saying "From now on, if Prem bhaiya ever comes to this office, he shouldn't be stopped from going into bhabi's cabin" and turned to Prem and finished saying "chalo bhaiya, I'll show you your better-half's office" as he smirked at Prem, while he led him to Heer's office.
Both entered her cabin, which was quite large, spacious, elegantly decorated. Preet forced Prem to sit in Heer's chair as he looked around.
"PB, sach sach batao…Kaisa laga? Laga kaisa?" Preet asked, while seating himself in front of Prem indicating he was talking about Heer's cabin.
"I love it" Prem said.
"OHH HOOO!!!!" sang two voices from the doorway. The two Juneja brother's looked over and saw Ash & Kiran grinning, with Neel standing between them.
"Keh raha hai…dil deewana…jaana jaa kah ke kasam! Hum ishq mein…marjayenga!! Kuch bhi sanam… *kehjayenga*…" sang Ash and Kiran as they sat down on the sofa in the cabin, while Neel sat down next to Preet.
"chordenga na daaman yaar ka…vaada raha, vaaada raha…" joined Preet in the singing.
"Vaada rahaaaaaa pyaar ka!!" sang the 3 sang together, ending with Preet, Neel, Ash, and Kiran laughing at Prem, while he grinned at the four.
"Hai, I never new jeeju was soooo romantic!" Ash said smiling.
"Jeeju ka chota bhai bhi bohat romantic hai" Preet cut in, while grinning at Ash.
"Why would Ash care if her jeeju's brother is romantic or not, PREET?" Kiran asked with her eyebrown raised and smirking at Preet. Just then Heer walked, looking tired as she sat down with the girls.
"What happened Meeti? You looked tired" Neel asked.
"Nothing" she replied.
"I'll tell you, bhabi's boyfriend…she's cheating on you, Neel!" Preet said.
Neel pretended to look shocked and said "What!?! Waheguru kept me alive to see this day…to see the day of my girlfriend cheating on me! Kam se kam Prem aur Kunal ka toh sochti" as he dramatically put his hand on his heart and shook his head.
Heer rolled her eyes and tried to keep down a smile.
He started singing "Mera saath chalte chalte, yeh kahan tehar gaye tum…yeh safar katey kaisa jo ab se darr gaya tum"
"Arre yaar, she's cheating on you…not PB. She never finished her work this fast for you and look, for PB, she finished it by lunch!" Preet said.
"If you're Indian idol rehearsals are done, then can we please go out for lunch? I'm starving!" Heer asked.
They all got up to leave and made their way out of the cabin and past the reception desk as the receptionist glared at Heer. However, this was not caught by anyone except Kiran as she glared back at her, causing the receptionist to quickly look down and get back to work.

It was around 3 and they had finished their quite long lunch and decided to go sight-seeing in Chandigarh, so they finalized to visit Rock Garden. They called up the rest of the family and decided to meet up there. About an hour later, they were walking around the garden looking at the waterfalls and taking pictures. Prem and Heer were walking a bit behind the group with Kunal between them, holding both their hands.

Swaran turned around and said "Hai…what a cute family", causing Heer and Prem to look behind them, but they only saw a bunch of college students walking around.
"Where?" Heer asked.
"Heeriye…Swaran bhabi is talking about you" Amar said.
"You three are a cute family too" Karan said looking at Amar, Nick, and Guneet, who shyly smiled.
"My dear son-in-law…I think it's your turn to complete your and my daughter's family" Kanwal said as smiled at them, while Swaran and Karan's face turned pink.
"Look at today's youngsters Kanwal… they're so shy. Back when we were young, men were never shy or looked embarrassed, but what can we say about this generation. They act shy and they don't even want to get married. Look at Neel, kithna drama kar raha hai shaadi ka peecha" Deep said.
"Dad!" Neel said and turned to Kiran, who pretended not to hear, until he playfully hit her on her arm saying "Oye, you're supposed to stop them"
She looked helpless and said "Uncle, Neel ki chodo…aaj kal ka kuwara lardke toh men hi nahi…they're just immature boys"
"HEY!!" Preet and Neel said together as all the ladies and girls started laughing.
"Mamma…are preet chachu and neel mammu horshes? Hay is for horshes, na?" Kunal said as he looked up at his mom.
Heer and Prem smiled at Kunal and Heer said "honestly beta, I'm starting to have doubts that. I don't know" as Kunal giggled and ran off to play with Nick.
"I'm going to throw a coin into the water" Kiran randomly said as she took out a coin from her purse and finished saying "to make a wish".
"This isn't a wishing well, smart one" Neel said as he walked up next to her. She rolled her eyes at him and said "Well Captain Obvious, it doesn't say anywhere that it isn't…and why do you care if I make a wish or not. In fact I think you should make a wish too. You can wish for a wife that…" but quickly stopped as she remembered the deal she made with him.
Nishi, Jeeti, and Sweety walked over and took out coins as well.
"Haan beta, I'm going to wish that you get married quickly" Nishi said.
"I'm going to wish that you get a beautiful wife" said Jeeti.
"I'm going to wish that you lead a happily married life with lots of kids" Sweety said.
"And I'm going to wish that aap sab mera peecha choordo and don't force me to get married" Neel said as he took out a coin quickly and tossed it into the water.
"Kiran, Sweety aunty toh teri band bajana par thuli hai" Preet said grinning at her.
"What do you mean?" she asked.
"Sweety aunty wished that Neel has lots of kids, well that'll be a problem for you, na? I mean you're the one that will have to give birth to them and take care of them..." Preet said as he ran away from Kiran and accidentally ran into Ash, almost making her fall over, but caught her in time. He looked into her eyes for a moment and then quickly balanced her again before he ran off to avoid getting hit by Kiran.
Heer laughed at the sight as she sat on the bench with Guneet and Swaran, when she noticed that Kunal was nowhere in sight. She quickly got up and said "Yeh Kunal kahan gaya?" as she looked around. She headed straight for Prem and said frantically "Where's Kunal and and Nick isn't here either!"
**Hello everyone! So usually I write a very long note at the end, but I have no idea on what to say. However, I do hope you take some time out and comment on how you liked or disliked the chapter. I will probably update Sunday. I'll see what I can do about that. Anyways, I'm leaving you with a cliffhanger once again! Hope you enjoyed the update! Oh and I won't be able to start my new ff until the end of next week as I have midterms next week.**
