Hello members,
First of all, it is not deep trouble that you are in but as I have been watching the forum, I do think it is high time to review these rules. Just because we don't make you adhere the rules and don't make it "Yes you have to do it, or even a must" doesn't mean you can do anything you want. We have eyes everywhere, so please do not mistake us.
There are various topics leading to the same idea or thing. "RR-Heer marriage, Prem's comeback" etc" When you know there is already a topic opened for that certain idea and even a sticky is there for you all to state what you feel in there but no, some members tend to make new topics so it would look like the topic is made by them rather than somene else. Why do we do this? Just to get some replies or to make it look like you are the topic opener? Fine, I agree but it doesn't really make a difference as to who made the topic does it? You can get the same response that you get into opening a seperate topics, ain't a really big deal. Why can't we discuss Prem's comeback in the sticky topic I made and RR-Heer discussions in an already made RR-Heer topic? Why make new topics? Do you know what it all leads to? Spamming and making the forum look more messy.
What do the repetitive topics lead to?
If you remember, it was said by members that just visted KDMHMD once or twice that this is the best forum they have ever been to, a forum they always look forward to, remember? Well, do you think after all the repetitive topics and questions asking for help make this forum look worst or better? Just ask yourself, this forum was known for it's cleaness and happy topics and it's discussions leading to 5 + pages, now look at what it has become. Is it the same KDMHMD? The same forum? I know we are all angry at Harshad Chopra not being in KDMHMD but does that mean you can just go ahead and start ignoring the rules and take away all the effort that was put into making this the PERFECT forum? The best forum? What if he comes back, do you think he will be happy looking at this forum? Do you think this forum will be able to retrive what it has lost? I think it will be BUT only if you put the efforts in. Now you may say "But HC is not back yet" but this forum is yours as much as it is mine. I can't do anything alone. I can't be the one trashing all the topics and locking them. I can't go through 3+ pages each day looking for topics that are unsuitable. I need your help.
Discuss topics where they are already posted:
Go through 3 -5 pages before posting a topic to see if it has been posted already. If you can't find it in the first 3 pages than sure, go ahead and post it. Discuss the RR-Heer topic in the already posted RR-Heer topic. Discuss the HC's comeback in the Harshad coming back to KDMHMD sticky. It is not as hard as you make it seem.
How can you help?
You can help by reporting the topic. If you see any picture, article or topic being posted twice and it was already posted, than REPORT IT!! All you have to do is click report and write your reason for reporting. Something as short as "Already posted before" and don't worry, you WOULD NOT get into trouble. All you have to do is report the topic and the Development team will handle the rest. Report anything you feel uncomfortable reading or something that you think has already been posted. You can even PM the Development and in this case, *Shifali* at the moment of you wish to remain anonymous. Don't worry your name WOULD NOT be disclosed but on the other hand you will be helping the development team make this a better section. You will than be making this a wonderful section...and be helping in taking this to another level.
The Report Button:
The report button is found on the top right corner beside the quote button of each member posts.
To report:
- Go to the members post you want to report.
- Than, beside the Direct link button you will find the quote button and than before the quote button you will find the report button. Click it.
- Than a window will come asking you to give a reason for reporting. Fill it out, give the reason as to why you are reporting the post. Just say "Advertising, Going against rules". It doesn't have to be anything long. Just a small and simple comment stating why you reported the topic. Than click report.
- A window will pop up saying the report has been logged on into our adminstration.
There, DONE.
The Search button:
Many have forgotten the search button, well looks like it. Let me remind you that we have our search button back! It is located on the buttom right corner straight from the Quick jump in the yellow box. All you have to do is type in the key words but you have to make sure they are 4 or more words long. So for example, if you wanted the Heer-RR marriage topic, you would have than typed in Heer or Marriage and than clicked search to see what came up.
Helpdesk:
The helpdesk is found as an announcement on the top of the front page with an exclamation mark in a yellow box. Please use that for your questions. If it is noticed that members tend to forget about the helpdesk, than their topic will be locked without the answer given and even thier PMs will be ignored until they ask the same question in the Helpdesk. This may sound harsh but I have put up with it long enough and so have the other members. So no more help until posted in the Helpdesk.
