i know this is really late. usually, the episode stews in my head for a couple of hours before i write up about it. this time it's been more than half a day. maybe it is a good thing -- 'cause it was one of those episodes which needed time to think about. where you feel that nothing's happening, but actually lots has happened? 'cause half my mind was constantly struggling with exactly who were the "good guys" and the "bad guys" this time while sitting with my feverish mom. but i think i'm still really confused. hmmmmm.
* little thing: didn't catch wednesday's episode, but er ... meher and ash are good friends now? meher's forgiven ash all the mean things ash'd done to her? to heer?? gosh. meher's very forgiving, isn't she? hmm.
* little thing: another wednesday thing - preet-ash are really a couple now? i know they've really been showing ash as a "good guy" but seriously. ash has been so "bad guy" before. are they saying that love transforms all - and this time, it's a girl who's been transformed?? hmmmmmmmm..!
* little thing: wednesday again -- why, why is heer hanging out with dheer? why are people in the juneja family not seeing this happening right under their noses???!
one thing i know i'm tired of is having the "good guys" as dumb losers, and the "bad guys" as smart winners. i know prem has broken the "bad guy" winning with his whole "aaj kay baad, duniya aur heer kay beech, mei khadda hoga" bit. 😍 now there's a new bad guy mr.rampal (and i'm sure dheer isn't as innocent as ... um ... he doesn't look. 😆). the thing i can't figure out after thursday is - where does veera stand?
* little thing: have i mentioned i know nothing about dances? i don't dance. can't figure out how a bunch of people in a group suddenly know how to co-ordinate their steps to a song even though they haven't been practising together. hmm.
but even to an ignoramus like me, it actually, today's dance looked like they haven't been practising dance? in fact, to see prem (in a bright red outfit! wha....🤣) it looked like he'd been practising tae-kwon-do by mistake and decided to do that instead of dancing. seriously! wasn't he being a little tooooo .... er ... vigorous in his dancing?? if anyone had been in striking range of his flying hands, they'd have been flattened! 🤣 as it is, heer looks like she is barely surviving the onslaught! 🤣
of course, that's a bit better than if they'd been standing next to preet, where it'd be his flying hair that they would've been flattened by. i mean, if i had to be flattened, i'd know that i'd prefer prem's hands to be the weapons than preet's hair... 🤣
* prem thing: has prem suddenly decided to test all boundaries of what colour we can tolerate on a guy? who else thought he looked like a ketchup lollypop in that outfit? or was it a cranberry lolly? or was it a hot-chilly lolly? hmmm.. is prem salty? is prem sweet? is prem spicy? salty? sweet? spicy? salty? sweet? spicy? all three? salty-sweet-spicy? ummm... hmmm... just one? all three? salty? swe...
(*slap, slap, slap!* argh!!! my mom needs me, i can't even knock myself out by running into the nearest wall. *start chant* "i hate prem! i hate prem! i hate prem! i hate prem!....")
* prem thing: but as heer is coming slowly down the stairs, looking worried to heck, prem's eyes go to her immediately. he is so happy! he is with his heer, and his family. he and his brothers have done the fun job of putting together a party for his kid sister's engagement. his eyes are smiling more than his mouth is. but when he sees his heer, and her worried little face, those eyes go from smiling into a puzzled question almost immeidately. prem... *sigh. going back to chanting, half-heartedly. umm.. i hate prem... really. hate.. double sigh*
and heer! heer is so well-matched to her prem. she will force a smile to her face, just to reassure him that she is fine. and he. he sees that tentative, tremulous smile and all the clouds that were beginning to gather on his face vanish and the sunny smile of his eyes light up his face again. *biggest sigh in the world*
i tell you - the unspoken communication that these two have, almost always make this show worth the while. they should never - seriously! - talk. (or take part in .. er .. vigorous dances. where prem tries to make up in 5 mins for all many hours where he has had to stand still and quiet in the entire show! poor prem! and even poorer heer! i wonder just how much she got bruised with all that prem pushing-and-pulling?? 😆)
the real question is: for a half-second prem-heer moment, would i watch the remaining 19.5 minutes? hmmmmmmmmmmmm. ya. maybe. i guess. 😆 i know what you're thinking - estee's a sucker! 'kay, ya. and what are you?? 😆
* little thing: why do these shows show some conversations where we can't hear words, but just music? and that too between heer and dheer, who we don't anyway care about! what are they trying to say???! drives me up the wall. seriously! 😡
* little thing: eeeks! who else got totally creeped by gayatri-mom today? the way she told dheer that he was there to do the family's work? or ordered heer to get veera? all while smiling that suddenly-vampirish grin? (actually, i'm suddenly creeped by the whole juneja family. did they come from canada or transylvannia? er... have we ever seen what happens to these guys at night??? *brrrr*)
* little thing: 'kay, i must admit. i laughed my head off at the moment when heer enters veera's room. veera's smiling and admiring herself in the mirror. and that smile becomes a ferocious scowl when she sees heer! bwahahahahahaha!
* little thing: er.. heer's voice when she is in "i'm trying hard to convince you" mode comes across as whiney. a bit of it works. when there's a a lot of it, is not pleasant.
actually, maybe what is not nice is that heer has gone back into being miserable. has anyone else noticed that heer is one character on this show who got to smile the least???? heer has had one day of real smiles - and then it's been back to misery and worry. everyone else - including prem - is happy.
* little thing: gee, the phone that doesn't work starts playing exactly what heer wants it to play??! gee. kya phone hai! 🤣
* heer thing: heer's expressions here make up for all the irritating whiney heer voice effects. when the phone first plays, her face becomes so happy. it's like: see! i was telling you the truth. but then, heer sees the effect of her truth on veera. how veera is totally shattered and destroyed by hearing the recording. and heer's face becomes shattered too. it's like heer realises just how deeply veera loved nasty mr.rampal and just how badly she will be hurt only at that moment.

* little thing: veera's feeling shattered. hmm. if we didn't get to see her stand in front of the mirror washing her face, and sadly remember those (ugh) mr.rampal-veera moments, i'd swear she was faking the misery. did no-one else remember how she vowed to heer that she would make all her family members -- laluchacha, prem -- dance to her tune? and that she would do "get back" at heer? i did. and i don't like the idea that she might be faking that real-looking sadness just to get back at heer. didn't like it all. how far would veera go to hurt heer? 😕 is veera working with dheer and mr.rampal to get prem and his family to distrust heer? what kind of aplan would do that? i mean, prem-heer are one, damnit! what are they planning?
argh! is veera faking it??! i want to know! only 'cause i want to know that prem-heer are, and will always be, one.
* big thing: exactly who was dheer on the phone to? i think he's the most shady character in the show so far. well, after, prashant. and preeto. and um.. no. dheer's the shadiest!
i actually think that dheer wanted that recording with mr.rampal to be heard by the family. i think he was genuinely upset that the phone was spoilt. i think he was calling mr.rampal to actually figure out how to bring the damaging evidence to the family despite this setback.
i think that heer's being set up big time. i just don't understand who are in the game. at least, when prem was being setup, we knew who the "bad guys" were. this time, when heer's being set up, i'm not clear. is veera "bad guy" or "good guy"? dheer? argh!!
(oh, and of course, as always: i never get it right! which is why i always wait and watch. 😆)
* little thing: laluchacha's little "oh where oh where has my daughter gone? oh where, oh where is sheee?" part made me feel miserable that vibha's not going to be here to write her analysis! i could just see in my mind's eye her rip that part up! 🤣🤣🤣
although, i must admit, i did think that entire filmy-sounding "who says you are leaving this house?" was nicely done.
* little thing: heer thinks it's okay to leave veera alone??? ummmmmm....... bad move?
* big thing: i must say this. i love, love, fiercely love that the women in this show have nice short finger nails! seriously i always thought it's insane that almost all the women in other shows - other than tulsi virani and baa! - have long usually red nails! and these are women who cook in the kitchen and everything. i think women with claws brightly painted is a horrific thing. and in this show, all the women (other than dirtchachi the vamp?) have nice sensible short pink painted nails. even ms. fashion plate veera. thank you, thank you, thank you *me kissing the ground in front of the director's team and the women in this show*
highlight of the episode: that one-teeny-weeny moment when prem looks at heer for assurance that all is well with her, with concern in his eyes. and heer answers with her difficult little smile and he becomes happy again. it was a micro-second moment. you had to watch for it carefully to catch it. but it was worth it. 😊
i know this is a long bt,lt. so, what the heck - i'm going to make it a little longer - remember the prem-heer that once was? yeah, right, like we could ever forget! 😆 happy weekending.
