It truly is unbelievable to watch such mature handling on Indian TV. Backbone is the word for Sanjay. Once he realised that he loves her he has not backed off or beaten around the bush. Not with Shruti and certainly not around his mom 😆 Aur unke logic ke to kya kehne. He has used it to perfection to get Shruti around to a point where she confronts him. Till then he was being so professional and following Shrutis orders .

Today was just sheer brilliance...scenes like today make me wonder why these two aren't more popular...today was some EXCEPTIONAL writing and exceptional acting...I haven't seen anything like this in the zillions of shows I've watched over the years...

I will try to catch it again if I can. It was indeed exceptional. An unapologetic logical hero. A heroine struggling to come to terms with the cards life has dealt her and scared to accept the changing relationship and admit she cares

LOL the thing to marvel for me is not just that he didn't beat around the bush...other heroes have done that...Mohan was one of them too...didn't beat around the bush much once he confessed either😆...but invariably all the heroes go into LOVERBOY mode.

For the first time I'm seeing two mature characters act their age even as the crazy confusions of love make them act childish from time to time😆

No, the thing with Sanjay is his sheer lack of MUSHINESS...and yes circumstances aren't conducive to that either...but whatever the reason, the maturity with which he's handled all this WITHOUT going into Majnu or Devdas mode...THAT is special...and this is major thanks to the HISTORY these two share as friends and KNOW each other so well...they don't need to start acting weird just cuz they're in love...in the midst of all the turmoil the realization and confession have brought, there is still a BONE DEEP understanding b/w them...THAT is unique and lovely to watch.

On a more fangirly note, LOVED this visual today😆

See bits like this...I LOVE how there is no hesitation in Sanjay in tipping her chain up to MAKE her look at him even as she stubbornly resists and keeps her eyes shut...it is VERY telling that Shruti DOESN'T push him away or back away when he does this...bit by bit she's coming undone in her own feelings responding.

Also, one more thought that just occurred to me as I look at these caps...the "Look at me, Shruti" bit and the way he insisted that she open her eyes...it had its figurative tones too...

NBT fans, a parallel can be drawn to the way Megha was trying to shut her ears and drown out Mohan's questions and then proceeded to SLAP him...lol

Anyways in this case, Sanjay is trying to make her open her eyes both literally and figuratively to the truth b/w them now...his truth is in front of her no matter how much she shakes her head and tries to shut her eyes to it...at the same time, her own truth is starting to slip out bit by bit...and she's trying to shut her eyes to that too...but Sanjay is making her FACE it...

Hello,

I just recently started seeing this and this is my first post so apologize if I missed anything obvious.

Gautami's acting is simply mind blowing...Manav is awesome too. Great chemistry!

I wonder when the story will go back to plug the gaps in the old tracks like Harsh's case, why he died, look for new house, finance issues, kids studies etc. After all, existing situations do not disappear just because SS are having romantic issues. I hope they keep the show realistic.

Also, it would have been nice if Shruti could have been shown more in control of her situation and not needing Sanjay's help EVERY TIME. It would have been awesome to show Shruti realizing her feelings for Sanjay as a completely independent woman without any obligations professionally and personally to him. It is just a little jarring to see that she cannot take a single step forward without his help.

And it must not be easy to work for a person with whom you are undergoing such emotional turmoil, hence making mistakes, getting humiliated and having no choice but to continue to work there...would have loved to see a more confident Shruti who was not dependant on Sanjay but still realized her love for him.

My 2 cents :)

The last scene literally gave me goosebumps☺️

I love the transition that takes place in the scene..

He was behaving like a normal boss in the beginning..the way she wanted him to behave..
LOL at the part where he says,"toh phir report banao aur rona band karo"😆

bechara kare bhi toh kya...when he doesnt scold her for her mistakes she has a problem..when he does.. then shes sad..

The way he melts afterwards & goes to her was JUST SO ASDFGHJKL [i dont have a word for that😛]
& the fact that Shruti doesnt push him away or rather slaps him was DIFFERENT! Had it been any other show.. slap/pushing away hi hota.

Theres a certain amount of comfort level that these two share & that is why Sanjay could hold her/wipe her tear..

Also,I am so glad that this tym Sanjay spoke not Shruti.. she got to know his actual feelings, that he didnt want to loose his best friend too and tried not to bring in the change..
[ I love the usage of BEST FRIEND..Jis haq se they use this word for each other😳]

The dialogue,"Tumhari feelings ko main control nahi kar sakta" was my favourite.

Manav Gohil & Gautami Kapoor..I bow down to these two for performing so effortlessly.👏

P.S : Anu di...Sorry but I'm chorifying the SS stuff from ur dabba 😉

Of course I had to choose such a day. Aren't you PROUD of me? Accidentally managing to come to action on the day that the ACE among aces is delivered? Don't you feel my psychic powers now?! 😆 😆 😆 😆 Dudeee. I already sent you the gush PM. An EXCLUSIVE on this scene alone, because like I said, and like you said - or rather, as we agree - this wipes clean just about ANYTHING, ever. Including, YES, you said that JUST right Nurey, anything on MM too. This just HAS to be the most BLATANT, CANDID, AND , REASONABLE of dialogues between two characters who've come to such a THICK stalemate. 👏 👏 👏 👏 👏 I think we could bow out to Sonal, AND the actors, over and over, and not do it enough. Every SINGLE line of the dialogue, was like another arrow that hit bull's eye. NO meandering. Absolutely no insinuating. I thought I was going to burst some veins out of the excitement and desperation of not being able to REACH into the screen to someone, something, and just TELL THEM how BLOODY BRILLIANT this was, when Sanjay says - tum theek kehri ho, humare beech ka rishta badal gaya hai, aur ab pehle jaisa kabhi nahi hoga... maine isse ladne ki bohot koshish ki, Shruti, par ab faisla tumara hai... Can words so SIMPLE, so UNCOMPLICATED, so... spontaneous, ever make for the premise of a situation of something so tangled with SUCH precision. Sanjay, man, you're the ONLY one I know of YOUR kind, on TV. And am I not floored, and just how! 👏 👏 👏 ☺️

Going to copy paste from my PM, because that was my exact interpretation of the SETTING and MAKING of this scene, which I consider completing part of his confession...
Sanjay could have sat down and thought and planned all he wanted. But between these two impromptu situations, he's laid his case the BEST. If the first time was midst of an outburst, this was mature, crystal clear, and sans ANY trace of ambiguity or leeway. You know the HONESTY of a character, especially a man I suppose, when he can lay out his love on terms SO beyond the possibility of negotiation. And the EXTENT of his emotion, from his emphasis on WHAT he has put on stake is what he has with his BEST FRIEND.

I LOVED that they opened that confrontation with the first scene between them, where Shruti asks him how long has he known her, and if this is all he has known of her. As much as you expect Sanjay to back trace that question toher... he doesn't, and there's something so POTENT about the obvious and latent manner in which that question implies yet the more on Shruti. And again, when she accuses him of deliberately being rude to her, publicly at that, he points out her error of perception. And then of course, Shruti says the one thing that is ABSOLUTELY unfair, to the extent that even Sanjay has to respond! Shayad tumare liye asaan ho, in fact tumne toh kar liya hai, par mere liye ye bohot mushkil hai... Sighhh. WHAT A FANTASTIC scene. Gautami Kapoor WOWS me out like no tomorrow. Manav is an ace, and I have a crush on him and his character quite plainly now. But Gautami, Gautami, Gautami... the amazing GRACE and POISE, the sheer BODY language, with which she conveys her current struggle 👏 👏 👏 👏 👏

Also, this particular alteration of behaviour from him, in reaction to Shruti's response to his confession is SO IN LINE with his character. For a man who could reply back with No I don't... to her I hope you understand explanation for her outburst, yes, this is not out of the blue.

They've shared the kind of bond where they've had their highs and lows, and it's not new to either of them to have a fallout. He's never been a groveling case before, and I'm GLAD he makes no exception here. It's not even a tit for tat he intends, not the least because he's bigger than that. In fact they are bigger than that, what they have, is bigger than that.

But she can't get away with saying things like those she has accused him of, without feeling the weight of them as precisely and deeply as he does, AND have him chase her, irrespective - because he's not the kind of man to bend to the pressure of thefarce those excuses she launched in self-defense are! Absolutely LOVE a hero in love with a BACKBONE that is JUST, and doesn't cross the line tipping in excess this way, or that. The balance is a feat 👏 👏 👏
Hello :-) Welcome to the forum :-)

I don't think the existing issues are disappearing for SS romantic issues. They did show that Ashish is working on the Harsh investigation and was discussing it with Sanjay a few epis back too...right now, they are building up to the SS issue being resolved...the other tracks can't move properly until this one is cuz there would be too much tension b/w SS for the Harsh issue to be of any use storylinewise right now.

And I don't think Shruti has been shown to be so dependent on Sanjay😕😕...she's only working there cuz of the one month contract...any job has a contract that you have to sign and a notice period involved if you quit...she's being PROFESSIONAL by serving her notice period...even if it's difficult for her personally.

Shruti is an extremely self-respecting and independent woman...most of her scenes show this clearly...I'm a bit surprised that you are calling her dependent...she CONSTANTLY fights for independence and never wants to be dependent on anyone...she doesn't involve Sanjay anytime for anything...it is Sanjay who helped her with the job and she took it due to circumstances...she has been independent enough otherwise...storyline wise, they need situations to be created for these two to have that interaction...their lives are intertwined.

Re: obligations...Shruti isn't falling for Sanjay out of any sense of obligation...you're tapping into the same argument she made when he expressed his love for her...just cuz she happens to work for him doesn't make this about obligation...storylinewise it brings two characters CLOSER, that is all.

Shruti would never realize her feelings for Sanjay otherwise cuz her life and circumstances keep her too busy just trying to stay afloat in family responsibilities and raising her children.

Hey Vipra! You're most welcome to chori the stuff...I'll post more soon in the gallery too :-)

Loved your take on the epi...the EMOTION behind the way they call each other BEST friends is what I love too...the way Sanjay wiped her tears and lifted her chin had so much exasperation and love mixed in it at the same time😆...did you notice how she was still stubbornly resisting lifting her chin? He had to do it a bit forcefully😆

SO MUCH WORD on the bits in bold👏👏...especially for Sanjay...I haven't seen another character like him...I love what you said about the differences b/w Mohan and Sanjay too...from the other thread...I'm going to copy/paste it here to reply

What I love to compare and admire about Sonal's writing of the two male characters is how you can distinguish the logical Sanjay as opposed to the cynical Mohan in very elemental ways. There is a CLEAR demarcation between being a man who has outgrown the years for anything of a typical love story, and can only be moved by something so precise, so perfect, as Shruti, to change his current lifestyle; and a man who thinks he has loved his best and honest most, and lost, turned bitter, and then just cynical in his resigned sort of moving on, and can only be moved by a faith so guileless, so unexceptional, as Megha's, who holds onto it like an elixir, despite the whole Amar episode in her life. I like how that variation is VERY distinct in Sonal's writing of the two couples, despite all the potential for overlap of nuances. And doesn't she do justice to them both 👏 👏

The cynical Mohan and the LOGICAL Sanjay...two different approaches...and Sonal does complete justice to these two characters...however unlike NBT, this time she does justice to the female character too😆..(for now atleast)...Shruti is sketched out so much better than Megha...defying all the widow stereotypes in yet another way...and then Gautami's FINE acting...her experience ofcourse trumps Aakanksha's abilities no matter how good Aks was too.

I have to say though that there is just something about this best friends storyline that has really impressed me...this HISTORY b/w two characters as they evolve into love...this is not explored properly on Indian TV at all...maybe in some teenybopper shows very cheesily at best...but b/w two MATURE individuals who've known each other for half their lives and THEN the change happens...how do you deal with it...how do you cope with it...each time I think the show is done for...usually the confession moment is that moment in every show😆...storyline nosedives after that...but this is the only show I can think of which has displayed some of its BEST work POST confession...such FINESSE in displaying the shades of the human psyche...no mahaanta, no sacrifices...such HONESTY in the emotions...like you said, each dialogue is like right on mark...candid, earnest, touching...and Manav-Gautami EMOTE so well.

Sanjay is that kind of character that makes me want to swoon over his sense of chivalry that seems to be from some bygone era...at the same time this BEST FRIENDS history b/w them adds another dimension b/w them and the way he handles it...the way he brings that tenderness into it as he realizes...and finally the way he EXPRESSES it...be it a candid outburst the first time or the THEHRAAV since...such FABULOUS emoting from Manav yaar...bit by bit, the depth of that emotion hits you every time.

My fav. bit from the last scene is this portion where Shruti is just LOOKING at him as he talks about how they are both the same but the change has happened...like if I could hug that MOMENT by reaching into the screen, I would😆

And then the way she closes her eyes as he tells her he's going to love her forever

I don't know how Gautami-Manav ACE it all SO well...I'm in awe of them these days...wish we could see some BTSs of their scenes

On a different note, I love the way they say each other's NAMES also...he says it with the emphasis on the U...Shruuti😆...and she says his name in like a chime..."Sanjayy"😆
