Ingredients
Serves 4
6-8 slices Bread (preferably a day old)
4 tbsps Oil
Asafoetida a pinch
1/2 tsp Cumin seeds
1/4 tsp Mustard seeds
1 medium sized Onion (finely chopped)
1 medium sized Potato (boiled & diced)
1/4 tsp Turmeric powder
1/2 tsp Red chilli powder
1 tsp Lemon juice
2 Green chillies (finely chopped)
Fresh coriander leaves (finely chopped)a few sprigs


Method
Break the bread slices into smaller pieces with or without the crust. Heat oil in a kadai, add a pinch of asafoetida. Add cumin seeds and mustard seeds. When the cumin seeds change colour and mustard seeds crackle, add onion and saut. When the onion turns transluscent, add diced potatoes and saut for two minutes. Add turmeric powder and bread pieces. Mix and add red chilli powder and toss to mix well. Sprinkle some water and cook for two minutes. Add lemon juice, green chillies and coriander leaves. Toss and serve hot.

so what do you do with the bread once you break them in pieces. Do you put them with the potatoes or put them in oil or what?

it may seem a dumb question... but the bread crumbs-- how long do you cook them for after sautaing the potatoes. or you just add them and thats it. thanks

here is part of the recipe when you have to add the bread....

i guess if you like your bread to be mushy then cook it for more than 2 minutes.

as for the earlier reply i hope the answer in caps did not offend you.....i guess it is considered as shouting on this forum.....i am in the habit of typing in caps
