Ok, so I've never written a post of my own on the forum before, but some of the opinions voiced here lately has me bothered, shocked and slightly terrified to be honest. Since there are a number of really young, impressionable girls on the forum, I felt there's something that needs to be put out there.
There are NO circumstances under which it is OK for a man to hit a woman. The only rare, possible exception is if the woman is attacking the man physically and he does it in self-defense because he's in mortal danger.

Please do not condone or justify that kind of behavior in any relationship, in reel or real life. It is not OK.

If you think it is ok, the men around you, those influenced by you, will also think its ok. You cannot make excuses for those men. And please, if you are ever in a relationship where a man raises his hand on you, walk away, from him and from the relationship.

Have a sense of your own worth as women. If you have no respect for yourself and for your own kind, you can't expect it from others.

So NO, contrary to what the subject title suggests, DV SHOULD NOT slap Saachi. Not if she refuses his love, not if she insults him, not if she kicks him out of her life again.. not for anything. A self-respecting gentleman knows when to walk away, and that he doesn't become more of a MAN by raising his hand on a woman and 'putting her in her place'.

P.S. I don't mean to target any particular member/members with this post. If you don't agree with what I've said, please don't feel offended. Just think about what I'm saying.

Very very well said Kiran... 👏 👏

I absolutely agree with you that no matter what the circumstances are ... it is not ok for any man to raise his hand on a woman. You've said it all... and I do hope it resonates with everyone who reads this.

I am in total agreement with everything you say. Men must never, ever raise their hand on a woman... it is very wrong and it is as simple as that.

Thanks Ekta,

@bold: That was the only intention. Ppl needn't respond, just read and think for minute.

Well said, I feel that men who restore to physical violence are very weak. Living in Canada, have seen a very dysfunctional society. Have seen worst cases of physical violence, child abuse, which made me think what are we people becoming.
Just want to say to all the young girls out there, never ever take any kind of abuse from anyone. Speak up don't hide it, you didn't do anything wrong.

Kiran when I read the subject line I was shocked and was so upset that I thought of blasting you for writing such a post. I am glad that I read it first and got what you were trying to convey. Very well written and totally agree with you. Nobody, I mean nobody has any right to abuse any female - abuse of any kind. I did not know that members in this forum want this. Very sad to know that being females they want DV to slap Saachi. And what is the fault of Saachi? Even if she is at fault DV has No right to slap her.
It seems our culture, traditional values are giving away to more western culture. We are not believing in giving, sacrifices, listening and respecting our elders... The newer generation is very self centered now and only thinks in terms of TAKING... The concept of giving in love is vanishing. No matter how much fault or mistakes hero makes, heroine is always blamed. Reel or real life physical abuse is never justified and should not be shown or tolerated.

Western culture does heavily penalise abuse against and hitting women- definitely not accepted and punished. However, yes 'listening and respecting our elders' is lacking in Western culture and the love and affection must be learnt from countries like India. I do agree with you... all kinds of relations crumble around me. I am one of the lucky few to have very strong familial bonds... but this issue in society does worry me.

Ben, i was only talking about the traditional values that I see missing in western society. I do agree that any kind of crime against women is not tolerated here and I really admire that and would want that kind of environment in India too. I have seen both parts of world so can easily gauge what is missing where. The strong familial bond as you have mentioned is still very strong in India but things are changing now and you said this issue in our society bothers me too as I have not been born and brought up like that. I can very easily relate to Saachi as that is how I have been brought up - family first.

Well said .. specially the above part...

@TM...a very sensible and needed topic...

i do not even understand how people can have so much hatred for Saachi... i really do not get it AT ALL... and am appalled if people are saying such things in this forum... and disappointed that people even after watching about a 100 episodes of JLZ could not deduce the characters of DV/Saachi and their relationship 😕
