I found the DV - Ankita relationship very artificial.
The warmth and rapport that best friends share was sorely missing. Just air kissing and plastering yourself to each other does not indicate a deep friendship. I found both the actors quite stilted in their interaction.
While Saachi was overreacting, it can be put down to the possessiveness of a new girlfriend. I am not saying it is right, just that it is understandable. She is already insecure about the age factor, DV's mother has just declared Ankita to be her choice and DV himself has not paid her sufficient attention to her at the party, The girl is rattled and her maturity has taken a back seat. I can understand where she is coming from.
However, DV is another story. He has been shown.to be extremely perceptive to her moods. Suddenly, he is either clueless about what is bothering her or just tries to brush it aside. While his explanation about Ankita is acceptable, the fact remains that he needs to cut Saachi some slack. Given our patriarchal society, the relationship is tougher on her, DV needs to handle her insecurities with greater care instead of cracking jokes all the time. It can be quite irritating at times,
I have just one Q though.
If Ankita and he are such bosom pals, what prevented DV from telling her that Saachi was his girlfriend?
