This journalist hates going to places where she knows she's going to bump into hot men in their uncomfortable worsts. I so hate my job....anyway, so Shabbir Ahluwalia, the "Mi" half of MiChi was spotted by yours truly on the sets of his hugely popular love saga, BT's Kayamath. The man was at his best, wearing a white shirt with jeans so torn that I wanted to reschedule my interview to be with Ramu kaka, the gentleman sitting in the corner who plays the role of the domestic help of the prestigious Mishras in the series. Does this kaka do his job right, I wondered? Anyway, who can complain about Mr. A, he is hot and happening, and sweet to boot. However, he was unfortunately detained due to a shot of a shaadi that he is planning for his wife...they are renewing their vows, for the second time, maybe third...he himself forgets, he tells me....he walks away and suddenly trips on some men carrying buckets, apperently that is the Shagun....and hurts himself in the leg. A standing ovation is given to him, I am wondering why are they applauding someone getting hurt, and Shabbir informs me that he is going to get into another accident (yet again!) in the upcoming episodes so everyone on the sets is happy that he can now genuinely look hurt. Wow, these TV folks take their roles way too seriously. Meanwhile in another corner, Jai Bhanushali is talking on his cell phone to his travel agent. Apparently the guy wants to go to some holiday that he has planned once he finishes shooting for Kayamath, but it seems like he is unsure when or how he is going to exit out of the series or whether he is going to exit out at all. This journalist thinks that the guy should go ahead and book his tickets because his not being there on the sets is going to make no difference, after all "BDs" is a popular theme with the Balaji folks. Half of the Michi moments consist of BD's. I meet one of the body doubles, the one who plays Prachi. Her name is Ruchi Jha , a pretty girl who is unsure about the story.
I ask her, "Ruchi, aapko kaisa lagtha hai jab aap Shabbir ke saath love scenes karthi hain?". Her reply, " I am not sure madam, Nagpal ji jab tak cut nahi chillathe, tab tak main Shabbir ji ke gale lagi rahti hoon, saara dialogue or romance wohi karthe hain". Suddenly, Shabbir walks over and is so sweet and friendly to this girl. I ask him the secret behind this amazing rapport with Ruchi, and he says, "Arre, all my scenes are with her most of the times, I feel like she is the chi in ShaChi and Michi...our ever dependable Ru"CHI"."
Hmmmmm, anyway, Nagpal comes on the set and shouts, "all ready for take", Jay Bhanushali runs over and says, "sir, aaj mere dialogues and body language kya hai, good or bad...." I ask Jay what he means, doesn't he have the script with his dialogues and role in it. He proceeeds to tell me that till he gets on the set and sees Nagpal, he doesn't know where his role is headed....back to the sets, Nagpal, throws a Petrol can at Jay and asks him to emote....
This journalist thinks she is lucky to have some certainity in her life...until next time, keep watching this space for more on KAyamath.
