Opti, agreed that Milind felt bad after the party, and even defended Prachi, but I thought that was because he was a decent human being, and not because he was drawn to her or in love with her. In fact, Milind showed no ounce of regret after nearly raping her, mellowing only after he realized that Prachi had always been his well-wisher

The way things were depicted, Milind went out to buy a sari for her the same day he realized her goodness - two days later, he watches NP dancing, and suddenly feels jealous, which felt a little unbelievable to me. The next day, he realizes that he cannot live without her....And how often did they communicate before the C-night? I would have preferred a more light-hearted marriage based on friendship, before entering the passionate waters of romance

Prachi's behavior was a little more believable because he re is a woman who respected relationships the most, and is willing to sacrifice anything to keep others happy and avoid confrontations. THe day Milind caught NP on the camera, she decides to forget her past and accept this man as her husband. ALmost every conventional Indian woman does the same :)

I always thought it was wierd that Prachi and Milind had no contact while growing up. Inspite of Milind's father working for Inder all those years, their paths seemingly never crossed until their twenties. šŸ˜• I understand Milind was proud and kept his distance from the Shahs but for them to have seemingly never met. šŸ˜•

So, if I had to re-write KYM, they definitely would have met when they were much younger and have more of an history. But then they would have fallen even more quickly in love, Inder wouldn't have approved and the end result would have been Romeo and Juliet! šŸ˜• Ayesha would have been Rosaline, which is really great since she isn't even seen in the play and Neev is an obvious Paris. Alaap would have been Tybalt, he is lucky to not have been already killed by Milind.

I would rather have prachi as a normal girl... she seems more middle class than high class... she is a lost girl who trys to get along with everyone but inside she feels the constant indifference. She feels-KNOWS-she doesnt belong anywhere even in her own family... she feels this not just after what happened to her that she had never in her life thought would ever happen to her... she had fallen in love with her friend during her high school days and despite having no ones fault the man she loved the most had to leave her and she couldnt do anything to stop him or bring him back...
though he was the last stroke, main reason for her grief is not just neev ... its everything she has observed as a child and a teenager among the people she has lived(broken relationships be it friends or family or church) even her own family that takes away all her hope of ever living that ideal life that she has always wanted.
she has no ambition, no dream, no goal in life that she personally wants to achieve, no more... she is dead inside and she doesnt even know why. she doesnt know why she runs away from everything that threatens to invade her thoughts, mind and heart...when she looks at other girls she cant understand why she is not like them, ambitious and confident... she doesnt know why she lives and for what reason... she doesnt know what is the importance of her existence... everywhere she goes she searches for something to hold on to... that reason to live... and she seems to see that glimpse of life in milind, a rich guy and mildly famous guy in her uni class...

but that spark of life that she sees in his eyes when she steals a glimpse at his roughly soft features she finds herself to be the most helpless and hopeless creature on earth.

After all that rambling let me chaulk out some of the things I would have altered in the main plot of KYM:

Unlike Kitty, I dont think Michi love story was unbilievable. There are far more unbelievable things in the story. One of the prime ones being how Milsi became a millionaired in such short time. I would have showed how Milsi landed in Turkey and ended up working in one the hotels of a millionaire childless Sheikh. Seeing his hardwork and business acumen, the Sheikh who would have been in death bed willed all his property to him knowing he will take good care of it. That would explain how he became wealthy so soon and also would not take away the importance to be given for his hard work.

Next coming to the PIM track. This was an absolutely brainless track. If at all they wanted to show that Milsi suspected Prachi of being the mother of that child and also show how the rest of the family trusted her then this would be my track:

Prachi would have been involved with some NGO activity and left SM for some village where this activity was taking place soon after Milsi left for Turkey. This was also the period Suki went into hiding after realising her pregnancy. So during the time of pregnancy both Suki and Prachi were absent to the rest of the family although Prachi herself did not know about Suki's secret then.

Soon after she returns back to the SM, Inder arranges her wedding with Neev and the rest of the story is as per the show. However, I would have not shown Michi c-night before the PIM track broke out. I find it hard to digest that Milsi would not have realised the difference between a woman who had given birth and one who is a virgin if he had been intimate with her. So I'd rather Milsi did not go down that road to know the difference. On suki's marriage there would be the waterfall scene, complete with the kiss and hug but no c-night. They return back and there is the bidai ceremony with Michi giving away Suki.

Prachi wants a home for Ritwik and now that Milsi has understood her she broaches the subject. She tells him of this friend of hers who died in child birth, leaving her baby in the orphanage. She received a letter from her only a couple of days back although it was written over a month ago. In the letter the friend had asked her to adopt the child. She wanted Milsi's consent for the adoption. Milsi agrees since he knows Prachi's kind heart and he himself is not averse to raising a baby. They then adopt Ritwik.

Ayesha is suspicious of the entire thing and investigates the baby. She is denied access to the orphanage records. On a hunch she tries to get samples of Prachi's and Ritwik's hair and stumbles on Suki's hair thinking it is Prachi's. The DNA proof can then be the one which triggered off the entire PIM drama. Prachi may take blame because she does not want to ruin Suki's marraige and relationship with her brother. Her absence from SM during the pregnancy also goes against her. But the rest of the family believe she is innocent except Milsi. Prachi may absolve Neev from the blame by saying that he found out about the baby and that is why their engagement fell through.

Assuming the worst of Prachi, Milsi then tortures her. The rest of the PIM track could have then followed. I would have left his avenging Neev out of the plot because it really does not make sense if the baby was Neev's as to why Prachi did not marry him. So a more believable explanation for Milsi could be that the baby was not Neev's and that is why NP marriage did not take place. Prachi tried to smuggle in her baby after making sure Milsi was impressed with her 'goodness'.

This track would have been more believable than the crap they dished out to us.

I do have some ideas as to how the PA track should have been handled. But I'll post them later.

Vasu, he was seething with anger when he took that doctor's call thinking that she had planned to harm him with the doctor's help. That call only reminded him of what he thought of their plan. But the minute he entered their bedroom I thought I saw something which was not anger but something between remorse and self doubt. At that precise moment he got that call from that doctor and all his misgivings came to the fore.

I would have liked if they were friends before falling in love and C-night.

I agree with Krangara... they didnt communicate much before c-night
