Part11

Milind stood near the window looking outside. He was furious. He didn't know if he was mad at Neev for making him a part of his stupid prank or at himself for playing along or at Prachi for saying those hurtful words. "What a nerve that girl has calling me a Junglee...."

Milind was still lost in his thoughts when he felt Neev's hand on his shoulder. " I m sorry man, all I wanted to do was lighten the mood. I wanted u and Prachi to be together but not like this."
"Its ok Neev, u didn't know she would react this way" said Milind without turning towards him.
"Thats what I m thinking....she behaved totally irrationally. I never in my wildest dreams would have thought that Prachi would hurt somebody. Main uski taraf se maafi maangta hoon." Neev tried to apologize.
"Don't worry its fine." Milind said still looking out the window.

Prachi knew that she had to apologize to Milind. A lot had happened since they left their house. Gathering all her strength she knocked on the boys room.
"Milind" she said meekly. Neev turned to leave the room giving them some space but not before giving a warning look to Prachi. Milind however, didnot tore his gaze from the window. He continued looking outside, he didn't want her to see the pain in his eyes.

"Milind, I m sorry I shouldn't have said all that. I swear I didn't mean a thing. Infact u r very good looking and sweet. Any girl would be lucky to have you. Please can u forgive me. plz." Prachi looked hopefully at his back.

Milind still didnot say a word, neither he turned to face her.
Prachi was restless now, she had expected him to atleast acknowledge that she was in the same room. She walked close to him but still kept a good distance between them.

"Milind , I was scared and in a shock. I never meant to hurt u or anybody else. Those words just came out....I.." She stuttered as Milind turned his gaze towards her. His eyes were filled with hate and anger . He looked so hurt Prachi thought. "Oh what did I do"
"Please Milind, won't u forgive ur friend??? I m really really sorry" Prachi took another step towards him now holding her ears and pouting her lips...

Milind's heart just melted at her gesture..He took her hands in his and asked "Prachi, do u have any idea how much u hurt me?? We all were just trying to have some fun and why did u just lash out at me alone?"

"woh ...I don't know." Confessed Prachi.
Prachi looked sheepishly at him and said" Milind, plz can you forgive me for my childishness??"

"Sure" gathering all his strength, that was all he could say.

"Ok, so can we all go and have some fun and this time I m not gonna stay alone here." Prachi said cheerfully and she dragged Milind out in the living room.

Everybody was surprised and yet thrilled to see them together. Purvi and Saumya were estatic that now after all the drama everyone was going out.

The five of them had some dinner at the nearby restaurant before heading off to the riverside. Throughout the dinner Prachi had tried to make small talk but Milind kept to himself and his answers were short. Prachi knew even though he had forgiven her and come out with everybody, he was still hurt.

The night was now a little windy when they reached the riverside and it was cold. Milind didn't feel like much for a walk so sat down on a bench nearby whereas the others went for a stroll. He was throwing some stones in the water when Prachi came and sat beside him.

"What r u doing here?? Shouldn't u be with ur friends??" asked Milind looking at her.
"You are also my friend. Mind if I sit here" Prachi pointed to the bench.
Milind scooted to give her some place to sit.
"Milind, U never did tell me about that girl. Did u find her yet??"
Milind looked surprised not knowing what to say. He looked at her in the eye, she had a spark in them. But before he could say something, he heard Neev calling them and they all left to go back to the cottage.

It was late and Prachi still couldn't sleep. She kept thinking about how she had shouted at Milind and the hurt in his eyes, She thought about their moment in the garden and blushed. She got up from the bed and went to the living room. She was flipping through some channels when she saw Milind walking towards her.
"So u are also awake??" He asked
"hmmm I couldn't sleep. What about you??" asked Prachi signalling him to sit on the sofa beside her.
"Same here, neend nahi aa rahi. Anything good on TV?" asked milind taking the remote from her hand.
"nope"
Milind flipped through some channels before he switched it off.

"So Milind, u didn't tell me earlier?? Did u get the girl?? Prachi asked again.
"Not yet, But I will get her" Milind said with a undeniable confidence in his voice.
Prachi was surprised and a little sad hearing that. "So prachi, tell me what do u plan to do further??"
Prachi was lost in her thoughts, she wasn't listening to him. Milind looked at her and snapped his fingers in front of her eyes "Earth to Prachi"
Prachi smiled shoving him on his shouder. "U tell, so do u plan to stay in India or go back??"

Milind told her how his father wanted him to stay and take care of business. He also talked about his sister who was studying medicine and how insecure he felt for her. Prachi assured him to trust her sister "she is not a little girl, why do u worry so much?? Plus we always learn from our mistakes, even if she makes one, it would probably make her wiser." They talked for a long time and soon they knew a lot of things about eachother. Milind was talking about something when he realised that Prachi wasn't saying anything. She was facing the other side with her head resting on the cushion. Milind slowly stood up to see that she was sound asleep. He picked up her legs and put them on the sofa. Later he got a blanket and covered her. He slowly caressed her cheek, putting her hair behind her ear, he wanted to kiss her pink cheeks but instead whispered "Goodnight Pari" and left.
