I did not realise that one day I will really be saying this - that 'Prachi is the Mom' (PIM) track is better than the Partial amnesia (PA) track. The PIM track, when it started, was one of the most atrocious track seen on Indian television. It defied logic, science and common sense and in simple terms was plain stupid. The underlying theme was who had more trust in Prachi and whether Milsi's love was as strong as he thought it to be to overcome the 'fact' that Prachi indeed managed to:
- beget a child living in a house full of people (none of whom were aware that she was pregnant and believed her innocence only because they 'trusted' her), hide it in an orphanage, wait for a rich man to propose to her, bear up with all his torture for nearly a year, seduce him to bed and
- once she is convinced that she has entrapped him for good, smuggle in her love child.
Prachi on the other hand allowed the man she loved more than her life torture himself and her all for the sake of protecting her sis-in-law's secret which even that girl herself wanted to tell her brother, not being able to bear his pain.
The entire plot was so repugnant and insulted our intellect. But we clenched our teeth and bore this crap for over two months in the hope of seeing our jodi back together.
The two things which made possible watching this stupid track were:
- Throughout the track Michi lived under the same roof even though their marital relations were considerably strained.
- Milsi remained faithful to Prachi even though WWW did her best to ensnare him. His so called 'hatred' for Prachi never let him compromise on his principles.
On the other hand the partial amnesia(PA) or partial memory loss (PM) track is not as illogical as the PIM track. Although surviving that gruesome accident was quite unbelievable, PA/PM itself was not unbelievable. It is possible for people to lose memory of a part of their life. But still this track is far worse than the other because one or both of the two conditions which made the PIM track bearable may be broken. That is surely undigestable for any Michi fan. The charm of this couple was the underlying innocence in their relationship. That would be totally ruined if the PA/PM track is kept up.
What is worse is the cross connections between the jodis we so wanted to avoid will get a back door entry. Even if one knows that whatever Milsi does in this state is not his fault, it will surely come to bite him hard later which is totally unacceptable for any true blue Michian.
If this track is not wrapped up soon ensuring there would be no long run damage to Michi, the makers can kiss their trps goodbye. Nobody will subject themselves to months of torture when the writing is clearly on the wall.
