Hi All,

I know its been long since i updated.
As all my favourite FFs have gone to happy endings..i guess its time i updated mine to keep myself engaged 😊 !!
The next Part might be a little bit boring without any Michi..but its important for the story to go ahead.
Plz let me know your comments on this so that i can improvise 😊

PART -9


"Friends !!"

she had said quite confidently then.but now she wasnt sure.

Can Milind ever be her friend?

"why not?" a small part of her brain reasoned with her. "if Sukriti can be your friend then why not Milind.Baba is such a nice person im sure even Milind is"

"if Milind was so nice,why would he do this to your father? Your family is living in a chawl today because of him" the egoist in her answered back.

Prachi clutched her head tightly with both hands to stop the flow of thoughts.She stared across the pile of files in front of her.Her desk needed her attention right now not milind.It helped a lot that Milind was away on a business trip for two days.She sighed and got into work.It was past lunch hour when she lifted her head from the files to the knock on the door.

"you planning on living on these files??" Latha asked smiling.

"oh no..i didnt notice how time went by.come lets go " prachi took her tiffin box and both of them walked into the office canteen.

"So prachi..how are things going on??"

"Umm..okay..in the beginning i wasnt sure i would be able to cope up..but thanks to you all.. i think i have fitted in well"

"And howz your family doing??"

"Good..that reminds me..i have to pay Sowmya's fees and should get books for bobby too..and the grocery bills,dadi's medicines,the house rent...thats going to be a lot.." Prachi bit her tongue as she had spoken too much.

She gave an uneasy smile to Latha.Latha pressed her hand soflty as if to say she understood.

"Are you sure you can manage?? Ask me if you need any sort of help..ill be there for you always" she gave prachi a warm smile.

it was this friendly nature of latha that made prachi come open about her problems in front of her.

"Hey by the way did you hear about the party boss is planning to give us" latha asked trying to change prachi's mood.

"No..Neev didnt say anything about it" prachi racked her brains.

"Milind sir is giving it buddhu.. its gonna be just the staff..im sure it will be fun"

"How are you so sure??"

"Because Milind's gonna be there..it would be fun to check him out na" Latha winked at her.

Prachi blushed and moved in her seat uncomfortably.

"You know i just cant imagine our serious sadoo partying along with us"

"He is not a sadoo" prachi was taken aback by her own statement.

"I mean he might look serious and all.. but he is good at heart" Prachi added on hastily... "Damn..why am i saying all this" she cursed herself.

"Yeah..yeah.. whatever!!" latha rolled her eyes dramatically making prachi laugh.

"So bhaiyya..you want me to dress up bhabhi for your party huh??"Sukriti teased Milind over the phone.

"Listen Sukriti..im sure she doesnt have any partywear ..so plz make sure you take her along with you and get her something she likes" Milind pleaded.

" And what do i get in return" Sukriti teased further.

"Anything..anything for you sweetheart" Milind smiled.

" yeah..Anything for your sweetheart!!" she cut the line plotting a perfect plan.



"Hey ..whos that kiddo??" Prachi looked at the girl latha was pointing to.

The girl indeed looked like a kid in front of the others.She looked lost and terrified.More than an employee she looked like a college going girl.She was playing with her sandwich nervously.

Both of them had finished their lunch and were about to leave when they noticed the girl still hadnt touched her lunch.The girl jumped and stood up immediately as prachi tapped her softly on the shoulder.

"whoa..calm down kiddo..why are you so nervous" Latha asked smiling warmly.

The Girl managed to force a smile on her face but was watching both of them cautiously.

"First Job??" Prachi asked as the girl nodded in return.

"dont worry.. Just be yourself and you will be fine..whats your name?" prachi asked cajoling her.

"Pari" came the reply.

"wow..the girl can talk.." latha chuckled.." you have a sweet voice" she added making the girl to smile.

"wait a minute..pari..hmm.. are you here for an interview with Mr.Shergill..i think i saw your name on the list" prachi asked.

"yes..but im not qualified enough for the job.." pari said voicing her concern.

"Dont worry..even i was not properly qualified for my job you know..keep your hopes up kiddo" latha gave pari a hi-five making her smile even broadly.

" I didnt know you were under qualified for the job " Prachi giggled as they were returning back.

"Shut up!!" Latha winked at her before leaving for her desk.

Prachi was immersed in her work until she heard a knock on the door accompanied by the same sweet voice..."May i come in Ma'm ?"

"Pari ?? " prachi said to herself even before lifting her head. In the doorway stood pari beaming at her.

"So nice to see you again Pari..i assume you got selected for the job??" Prachi got up and hugged her warmly.

Pari though taken aback by her gesture hugged her back happily.

" Im glad ill be working with you didi....umm..im sorry..i meam..madam....i.."

"Thats ok Kiddo..you can call me di .. so whats your first assignment?"

" Well..im given a case study..i have to make a detailed analysis report on it.. i come from a MBA background you see"

" Which college did u attend?"

"Im still in my College di..i go to a night college so that i can work in the day..i havent finished my MBA yet..im in the final year" she said sadly.

Prachi could notice the melancholy in her voice but decided not to press further.She could understand her very well as her own situation was not much better.

With all her work done,Prachi waited patiently for Pari to get her report.She knew it would take time as it was her first task and she decided to give her some breathing space.She would check the report tomorrow before giving it to neev.

She looked at the paper she was writing on with a pencil while waiting for pari.She was surprised to find words she had actually written on it.she read them once again and left the office with a deep sigh.

Two hours later Pari stepped in with her report into Prachi's cabin only to find it empty.She had disappointed di in her first task it self..pari chided her self. She decided to leave the report on Prachi's desk so that she could see it the next morning.

Pari was about to leave when the words on the paper caught her attention.Quickly checking if anybody was around she bent over the desk to read it.

problems problems everywhere
I try to hold on to life
its slipping like the sand from my hands
problems problems everywhere !!


Pari couldnt help herself as she took the pencil lying there and wrote down on the paper

I let the rain wash my worries
i felt the wet soft grass under my bare feet
the path suddenly turned rough with pebbles
problems problems everywhere!!


"I think i actually found a Didi in this office " Pari smiled to herself.
