If you study her face, she looks completely dazed and in a zombie-like state. All she could think of was the fact that Milind didn't think enough of their love to believe her. That's left her in a deep state of shock.
She doesn't look as tho she's aware of her surroundings. She's dead to the noise of the sea or the waves lapping at her feet.
If you observe carefully, it's only when she reaches the deeper part of the sea that she comes awake.....I base this observation on the desperation with which she threw up her arms as though pleading to be saved.
If she wanted to die, why didn't she just throw herself off the cliff? That way she would be sure that she couldn't be saved.
Here, there seemed to be many people on the shore and a boat full of my fishermen not too far away!
