For long now I have been wondering why Ayesha has that name. You see it is more of a muslim name and neither of her parents are muslims. Today it suddenly struck me. Since I have not seen the serial from the beginning I have not seen her write her name. So dont know how she spells it. Perhaps it is spelt as Aishah. A for Amrita her mother I for Inder, her father and shah- for her surname. What say?

In india names doesn't necessarily reflect religion..so you may find many muslim names of hindus....for example Sameer is common in both the religions......Ayesha, Seema, gauri r common girl's names in both the religions....one name that is upcoming now a days in both the religions is Aryan.....
But yes some typical names like salim, ram etc r religion specific....
hope that helps

Hum.....Opti darling...you may be right that her name may be splet Aishah....instead of the way we spell it...Ayesha....

And do agre...some names donot reflect ones religion...but are kept..because they are liked...

Ayesha, Aryan, Prem, Raju, Anita...are some common names shared by both religious sects...

Just saw an old clip which shows how the shah mansion went back to Prachi. In that Ayesha signs her name as Ayesha and not Aishah. So there goes my brainwave. I did not know that Ayesha was also kept by the hindus. Did'nt come across one so far. Yes, I agree Aryan, Sameer etc are kept by people of both religions.
