Hey friends,

I live in UK and I am constantly finding ways to entertain my very dear neighbour who is a pakistani. I sold Kayamath to her, told her story so far and really got her charged to watch it.... and she watched it for some time and then told me :

"baki sab to theek hai, lekin I can't understand the language that ayesha and milind speak 😉 😆".

poor lady, who is so used to urdu and refined english, couldn't understand dialogues of MA and decided to quit😭.........she finds the language used by them too harsh on her ears..... and she is not like me who's happy staring at Milind all the time...😳😳

i want to ask other pakistanis on the forum about this.... do you also find the mumbai street language difficult to understand?

please reply

Cheers

I really dun think it's hard to understand well but then I've been hearing such language for a large part of my life. It's common street talk popular in Pakistan too.....very frequently used ,to be honest..words like "Tereyko, shaana, vaat, saala, mirchi lagna" they're very much in vogue n being the adaptable kind I can understand it pretty well. To be honest I really must appreciate Ekta for showing a very different part of society via Milind n Ayesha's characters far different from the elite n posh characters with flashy diamonds, designer sarees and rolex watches....I really loved Milind's chawl set and him too in that backdrop. He's done full justification to his character. Though Ayesha looked a bit far fetched with a prim and proper look complete with jewellery though not flashy but very unreasonable in a chawl , not to mention her low necked outfits...though I found Sukriti very commendable ...then....now she's lost it. "Dimagh satak gaya hai uska!"

Thank you all......i didn't know when i started the thread, that so many people will come up to answer...
I kind of get the point of view now..... and I know all K serials r equally popular in pakistan..... so i was wondering if all pakistanis are "aap.... khaiye...lijeye" types... so i put the question..... 😆
But... i would like MA to use some refined language when they r speaking to elders.... specially A to her mother in law.....lekin that MIL of A deserves no respect... so let it be....
cheers
