Part 12:

Milind's eyes opened slowly at 3 AM in the morning. It was raining really loudly outside, and he could hear the rain hitting the rooftop tiles above his room intensely. He sighed, and was about to go back to sleep, when he realized the Prachi was lying beside him. He slowly turned his head leftward, and saw Prachi lying on the ground between his body and the bed. She was lying facing him and seemed as if she was sleeping peacefully. Milind couldn't help but stare. Smiling, he went back to sleep.

***

The thunderous rains that had characterized the night, had miraculously vanished by the morning time. Instead, birds were blissfully twittering, enjoying the magnificent sunny weather that evaporated all traces of rainfall. It was 7 AM. The sun was shining and birds were happily chirping loudly.

In unison both Milind and Prachi woke up, and instantly their eyes met. Both were still lying down and gazing at one another, because both had slept facing each other. Then at the same time, Milind and Prachi realized how close they were to one another. Prachi's head was on Milind's stretched out left arm, and her hands were wrapped tightly around his lean bicep.

Realizing the ackward nature of the situation, Prachi instantly sat upright. "Woh…I think mujhe tandh lagree thi….that's why I probably grabbed your arm," she tried explaining.

Milind remained lying down, and trying to ease the situation said, "Uhh…yea…it was pretty cold last night."

No luck. It was still an odd situation to be in. For well over half the night, Milind and Prachi had been so close. They had not realized that they had moved towards each other to find some comfort in the night.

Trying to get away from the weird situation, Prachi quickly put a robe on and briskly walked away to the kitchen to prepare some tea and breakfast. As Milind watched her hurry off, he ran his hand through his hair, and let out a huge sigh. He knew he was in over his head. He was so confused. He felt anger, passion, trust, and distrust all at the same time. Not knowing what to make of his emotions, he went into the bathroom to freshen up and have a shower.

Ten minutes later, Prachi made her way upstairs towards their bedroom, holding a tray of tea in her hands. She had tried to make breakfast, but her mom had reminded her that she was supposed to rest. After a couple minutes of Prachi trying to persuade her mother that she was okay, she gave up. It was no use, Prachi realized, because her mother was not going to be convinced. Sighing, Prachi had grudgingly taken the tray of chai that Premlatha gave. Premlatha told Prachi to go drink tea with Milind, and naturally, Prachi had no choice but to agree.

As Prachi got inside the room, she placed the drinks on the coffee table. As she was about to stir in the sugar, their bedroom's bathroom door opened. Milind walked out of the shower, with his hair and beard completely wet, and with only a white towel around his waist. He turned around and was shocked to see Prachi staring surprisingly at him.

"Woh….I forgot to get my clothes," he tried explaining, as water trickled off his chest to the ground.

Prachi embarrassingly lowered her eyes, and walked to their cabinet. She pulled out a shirt, and pants for Milind. Still keeping her eyes lowered, she walked up to him and handed him the outfit. "Please hurry," she squeaked, still visibly embarrassed, "the tea is getting cold."

Milind grabbed the outfit out of Prachi's hands so forcefully, that he pulled her along towards him as well. He had not meant to be so aggressive; he was just trying to change quickly to escape yet another odd situation.

Instead, he had pulled Prachi towards him, and unexpectedly he fell backwards, onto the floor. As he fell on the ground, he pulled Prachi along with him, who in shock grabbed onto Milind's shoulders. In turn, Milind put his arms around Prachi's waist. With a thud, they both landed on the carpet, with only the outfit Prachi had picked for Milind separating their lips from each others. Prachi raised her right hand from Milind's shoulder and quickly brushed the outfit aside. She then put her hand back onto Milind's sturdy shoulder. She herself was shocked at her own action. She did not know what had propelled her to stay lying on Milind's bare chest.

Milind felt the softness of Prachi's robe on his body, and could feel Prachi's heart beat from the vibrations of her chest, which was so intensely planted onto his own chest. He tightened his grip around her waist, waiting for her to protest. "She loves Neev," he thought to himself, "of course, she will stop me."

Prachi did nothing. She just kept her gaze lowered, too shy to look into Milind's eyes. Surprised, Milind now wanted to see just how far he could go before Prachi would slap him, or scream for Neev's assistance. Letting out a small smirk, he moved one of his hands from her waist, to her stomach which was flat against his own body. He moved his hand towards her naval, and grabbed the string of her robe. He, without hesitation, opened up the string, to reveal Prachi's nightgown, which he had become so fond of last night. Noticing the intent of his action, Prachi's chest tightened up, and her heartbeats sped up. Milind took notice. Even though she was surprised and not completely comfortable, he noticed that she still had not said anything. Deciding to take it one step further, he lifted his head up from the ground, and started moving his face closer to hers.

Prachi realized what was happening. Her lips started quivering. Slowly, Milind brought his lips towards Prachi's. Milind could sense that Prachi was getting uneasy, but was astonished that she was not moving. As his lips moved in on hers, with less than a millimeter of a distance remaining, they heard a huge crash in their room.

Prachi reacted instantly, and quickly broke away from Milind to see what happened. Milind too released his grip on Prachi and sat up right facing the door.

It was Ayesha. She had broken a vase. Anger, confusion, and shock were clearly visible on her face. She had come to the room in order to continue her talk with Milind from last night. She had high hopes that something amazing was about to happen between the two of them. As she had stepped in the room, her dream came crashing down. As she entered, she saw Prachi lying on top of Milind, who only had a towel wrapped around him. Prachi had her hands on his shoulders, and Milind had his arms around Prachi. Ayesha had remained silent, because she had expected Milind to push her half-sister away from him, but instead Ayesha was horrified to see that he was about to kiss Prachi. Not being able to stand the sight in front of her, Ayesha had grabbed a nearby vase and tossed it furiously onto the ground.

At this point, Prachi was standing upright and tying her robe, and Milind too had grabbed his outfit and stood up.
"I walked in and the vase broke," Ayesha explained with anger in her voice.

"It's okay Ayesha," Prachi spoke softly, as she moved her hair behind her ears, clearly embarrassed at what Ayesha had walked in on.

Milind found himself in yet another odd situation, and trying to escape the tense environment, walked into the bathroom to change his clothes.

Angry and disgusted , Ayesha watched Milind walk into the bathroom. "When Milind is ready, tell him to come to my room," she commanded to Prachi.

Prachi just stood there not saying a word. She did not like the idea of Ayesha giving demands to her, especially regarding Milind.

"I expect him in my room in 5 minutes" stated Ayesha. She then flipped her hair back and walked off in a livid rage.

Beautifully written CB😊 What i like about the latest part of your FF, is despite the fact that Miland mistakingly believes that Prachi loves Neev...Miland still trys to bridge the gap between him and Prachi...i wish Mills has the confidence to do this in the serial.
