Part 76
The rain beat against the window steadily. The temperature had dipped down and Prachi snuggled deeper into the duvet. Her back snug against Milind's chest, his hand heavy around her waist, she sighed and her eyes fluttered open sleepily to the dim morning light. She turned around and hugged him, her face pressed against his bare chest and smiled. Hmmmm, the pleasant chillness in the room and the warmth of his body was way too soothing, she thought to herself. She raised her face and pressed her lips against the hollow of his neck, her hand traced the prickly hair on his chest. She rubbed her face against his stubble placing soft kisses on his chin. Milind shifted slightly and Prachi stilled. Oh no! What if he woke up! Her courage ebbing away, she buried her face back against his chest. She felt as if she is floating on the clouds, his love forming a protective cocoon around her. She was safe and extremely happy in their little magical world. She decided that she loved being married……to him; she smiled shyly at her own thoughts. He was a very caring husband and a gentle but expert lover. She knew that he was holding back giving her space and not pushing her too much. A part of her wanted him to let go and be himself but another part of her was too shy and too scared to handle him if he did. In the last couple of nights, he had stroked her passions expertly, bringing out a new and sensous Prachi whom she didn't recognise herself. She ached and longed more and more for him, her young heart greedy for more of his love yet shy. How would their honeymoon be!! She wondered, her heart constricting with anticipation and nervousness. And last night……..she shut her eyes tightly and her cheeks turned red as memories of the night before filled her head.
The minute he walked into the bathroom and kicked the door shut behind him, whatever courage was left in her had disappeared. Her breathing was heavy and laboured when he set her down and she kept her eyes closed. His mouth was gentle yet demanding as he kissed her and her feeble attempts to stop him did nothing to slow him down as he undressed first her and himself. A shiver went through Prachi as their bodies touched. She gasped and moved back as the jets of hot water hit her. She opened her eyes slowly and stared at his chest gleaming in the soft light and dripping with water. Her eyes shyly travelled down his body and then back up to his face. She stared mesmarised into his smouldering black eyes through the thick veil of water and swirling steam. Still holding his eyes, she moved forward and her hands travelled up his chest and looped around his neck. She pulled his head down and her mouth met his halfway. Completely lost in the moment, her mind registered only his touch, the way his hands moved over her body, the exotic smell & soft feel of the shower gel as he lathered it on her. Her body quivered in response and her whole self lost in the sweet torture. Just when she thought she couldn't stand it anymore, he turned off the shower. Unable to move, she just stared at him through desire laden eyes and his eyes held hers all the while as he towelled her dry. Her mushy brain somewhere registered the softness of the bed as he laid her down. His heavy body covered hers and his mouth claimed hers and they lost themselves again in eachother.
Breathing heavily now, Prachi moved away from Milind. Oh god, what was happening to her! Has she turned so wanton in the last couple of days? She smiled shyly at his sleeping face. Walking to the window she looked outside as the rain continued to pelt heavily. She pressed her burning cheek against the coolness of the glass window. She couldn't go back to sleep now. May be a hot shower…alone… will clear her head, she thought to herself. Giggling shyly, she ran into the bathroom.
"Mi……..lind, utiye na" she said softly for the umpteenth time. She had been trying to wake him up for the past ten minutes and sprawled face down on the bed, with his hands and legs wide apart, Milind had only stirred slightly. Stomping her foot in annoyance, she leaned on him and whispered close to his ear, "Wake up…….you sleepy head!" she chided softly.
Milind's lips creased into a smile and Prachi gave a shriek as he rolled over and pulled her on top of him. "I am awake, Cherry…….what now?" he asked huskily. Prachi's face flamed wondering how long he had been awake and buried her face in his neck. Milind breathed in the heavenly smell of coffee, "Hmmmmm, a steaming mug of coffee and a equally steaming hot wife…..and a rainy wet morning…..what more does a man need in life?" he groaned softly and his arms tightened around her.
Blushing, Prachi squirmed in his arms, "Let me go, Milind…please", she begged.
"Shhhhh, stop moving or else we won't get out of bed for a very long time", he warned her huskily and Prachi went still. "That's like a good girl", Milind laughed softly and frowned, "Hey, you showered already!!! Now that's so not fair. You will have to compensate big time for that, Prachi", he warned.
Prachi bit her lip, "We have to go out for lunch. We will be leaving soon……that's why", she said softly, her finger tracing his chin. "Milind…….I don't know what to wear. My heavily embroidered sarees that I have here would be too much for dining with friends", she said softly.
Milind's hands ran along her body, "I might help with you with that, sweetheart. But what do I get in return?" he asked and gave a wicked smile when Prachi looked at him surprised. "How about a mindblowing kiss?" he drawled and pulled her head closer.
Quick for him, Prachi closed her hand over his mouth and made a face, "No………morning breath, Milind……Nooooooo", she struggled harder.
Milind chuckled, "Alright, there are so many places in my body for you to kiss. You will be spoilt for choice, darling. Go on! I will let you pick and choose" he said naughtily and moved back to look at her.
Prachi smiled shyly and leaned closer to kiss on his forehead. Milind's hand tightened in her hair to hold her close to him and Prachi's lips trailed lower placing soft kisses all over his face. By the time her lips reached his, his morning breath was the farthest thought on her mind.
It was well past 12 pm when Milind and Prachi arrived at the restaurant at Milind's hotel where they were meeting their friends for lunch. She was dressed in a turquoise colored saree with understated but very elegant silver work that Milind had brought for her. Pearls gleaming around her neck and wrist, Prachi walked with her hand looped around a very handsome looking Milind. Smiling at her, Milind pulled her closer, happy that she had been conversing with him far more freely than the day before. Nodding to his staff and thanking them for their wishes, Milind walked in straight towards Vicky and Pooja. Milind's friends greeted them and Prachi blushed at their innuedos and jokes. Her eyes flickered to where Sally was sitting but she seemed busily conversing with Mark and Micky who were seated on either side of her. Lunch was informal and a lot of fun and they all relaxed in the terrace garden with their drinks.
Prachi smiled shyly as Vicky sat next to her. "Don't, Vicky", she warned him softly.
Vicky laughed, "Come on, Prachi. How can I leave such a chance? So, did you guys catch up on sleep last night?" he asked naughtily.
Face flaming, Prachi closed her eyes. Pulling herself together, she gave a haughty look, "Not really, Vicky. I woke up soon after we reached home and it was a loooooooong time before we could sleep", she said with a toss of her head.
Vicky's eyebrows rose, "Oh really, Prachi! So, what did you do in that looooooong time before you went back to sleep?" he asked her innocently.
Prachi glared at his smirking face and looking around her, picked up a desert spoon and hit on his arm.
"Ahhh", Vicky rubbed his arm, "That was very mean of you, Prachi" he glared at her.
Prachi gave a sweet smile, "You are like my own brother. And sisters have every right to hit their brothers", she declared.
Vicky raised his eyebrows, "Oh, okay, my dear sis. I guess that's the price all brothers have to pay", he smiled.
Prachi smiled triumphantly, "Only when you tease me. If you behave, I will also behave", she said.
Vicky laughed, "I can't resist myself, Prachi. This is nothing. Wait till you get back from your honeymoon", he said.
Prachi brightened and touched his arm, "Vicky, pls tell me where we are going. Milind is so secretive about it. Even today, I tried to ask him. I am dying to know. Please….please.." she begged.
"Milind will kill me, Prachi", Vicky said and looked at Milind who was laughing among a group of friends in a distance.
Glaring at him, Prachi picked up a fork, "I will definitely harm you if you don't tell me anything", she said.
Vicky looked at her shocked, "Oh my, am I bringing out that hidden violence in you, Prachi. You are a surprise package", he shook his head. Seeing Prachi raise the fork, he put his hands up, "Okay, lets declare peace" he said and leaned closer to her, "Pack some medicines to combat jet lag" he whispered.
Prachi's eyes widened, "Are we going abroad? Where to? But don't I need a visa?" she asked confused.
Vicky smiled, "That's all taken care of, Prachi. Mausi has your passport with all visas stamped", he said.
Prachi smiled, "And…..tell me more, Vicky…..please. I won't say a word to Milind", she begged again.
Vicky smiled at her, "Sunscrean…….sunglasses……beach hat ……..and bikinis", he winked.
Prachi looked at him with wide eyes, "I don't wear bikinis" she said.
Vicky laughed, "I will leave that to Milind. Now, Milind's walking towards us. Not a word, Prachi or else, I will definitely declare war", he said warningly.
Prachi giggled, "I swear, Vicky", she said and smiled happily as Milind joined them.
Prachi was sipping her iced drink, when Merin joined her. "Prachi, you and Milind look glowing, honey. Being married definitely suits you both", she winked teasingly.
"That's too early to say, Merin. Give it a few more days. Reality will set in soon", said a honeylaced tone, dripping venom.
"Ouch, what was that for, Sal?" asked Merin surprised and Prachi's face darkened.
Sally laughed huskily, "Hey, I was stating the reality of life, Merin darling. Afterall, honeymoon period doesn't last forever, right?" she said casually, her eyes hard on Prachi.
Merin smiled, "Don't mind her, Prachi. My honeymoon period is still going on strong even after one and half years of marriage. Yours will too", she said.
Sally's eyes softened, "I sincerely wish that it lasts forever, Merin" she hugged her friend. Turning to Prachi, she said sarcastically, "Good luck, Prachi" and with a sway of her lips, walked away.
Prachi stared after her and Merin touched her shoulder, "Don't take her seriously, Prachi. The blond princess is having a dumb moment", she said softly.
Prachi looked at her surprised, "I thought you liked her", she asked Merin.
"I love her, Prachi. She is slightly wary of relationships after her parent's marriage broke down. She is a lovely girl" Merin said fondly.
Prachi smiled, "Do you guys call her "The blond princess"?" she asked.
"But she is a blond princess, Prachi. One word out of her mouth and every guy in this room will run to her beck and call……even Pete" she giggled. She laughed on seeing Prachi's surprised look, "Pete had such a crush on Sally in our school days. But Milind bet him to it", she said and stopped suddenly. "Oh, you do know that they were an item, don't you?" she asked hurriedly and relaxed as Prachi nodded. She continued, "But after Sally left for the states, I went out with Milind a couple of times. God, it was painful. He was heartbroken and miserable and I was using him to get Pete to notice me. But it worked. Pete noticed me and here we are….., married to eachother" she laughed.
Prachi frowned. Milind was heartbroken and miserable after Sally left!! Seeing her frown, Merin squeezed her hand, "You might have a hair tearing fight with Sally but the minute you need her, she would be by your side even before you call her. She is a fantastic girl, Prachi. So, we don't mind her dumb moments", she said.
Prachi smiled at her, "I feel jealous on seeing this group. There is so much love and friendship among you all and I love the way you all accept eachother with their goodness and flaws" she said heartfelt.
"Honey, you are one of us now. So, no jealousy…….just be happy and proud", she said and hugged her.
Pooja was accompanying Vicky to the airport to see off his friends. Milind insisted on dropping Prachi home and then driving to the airport. After a lot of hugs and promises to catch up in London, Prachi bid them all a happy journey. When she stood in front of Sally, they just looked at eachother, wondering what to say. Prachi was surprised when Sally hugged her. "Have fun, Prachi………..for as long as it lasts", she whispered close to her ears and leaving a stunned looked Prachi behind, she walked away with Mark.
Prachi spoke very little on the way home and Milind wondered if she had gone back to her silent mode. Reaching his penthouse apartment, he smiled as Prachi pulled her pallu over her head. His flat was full of their relatives when they walked in. Leaving Prachi with his mother and promising to get back in time for dinner, he rushed back to his friends.
After the hustle and bustle that followed with their friends checking in, Pooja, Vicky and Milind were kept busy at the airport. It was close to 6 pm and there would be ample time for Milind and Vicky to get back home for dinner. Thrusting a bottle of mineral water in Micky's hands, Milind smiled on seeing his tearfilled eyes. "Micky, we will meet up in London in two weeks time, man. Don't get so emotional now", he said softly.
Sniffing, Micky hugged him, "I had such a wonderful time, Milind. Thanks to you and Vicky. Take care of Prachi and you guys have a wonderful honeymoon. And give my love to Mr. Shah. Tell him that I will never ever forget him. Aww, I am going to miss him", he said.
Milind sighed. Not again! "Alright, Micky! I will go straight to Prachi's home and give Inder uncle a big hug and a couple of kisses. Happy?" he asked exasperated.
Micky hit him, "Hey, don't you dare kiss him. He is mine", he glared at him.
Milind looked at him shocked, "Oh, Come now, man. I thought you had let go of your crush" he said.
Micky sniffed, "I have, man. But I am still kinda possessive about him", he said.
With a smile, Miling hugged him. "Alright, buddy. I will resist the urge to kiss your Mr. Shah. Now be a good boy and get back to London in one piece. I will miss you guys", he patted his back. Another round of back-slapping and hugs followed. Milind smiled as Sally hugged him, "Thanks for coming, Sal. You don't know how much it meant to have you all here. It felt like being at home. Thanks honey", he said softly.
"Come home soon, Milind. I will be waiting. Take care", Sally said softly and reached up to kiss his cheek. She closed her eyes for a second to compose herself and with a bright smile walked away with her friends.
