Which is the lesser of the two evils?

It is a given we have a Michi separation and a four year leap on the cards. Yesterday they took us one more step towards it when they showed us a dead body and Milsi looking confused. Now many, if not all, here, are of the view that it would be better for Milsi to believe she is alive than dead and that she does not play anybody's widow or wife. If that should be the case, then why introduce a new family where the woman has a similar sounding name and a baby to boot? Why have this bomb blast?
I feel the reason they have introduced this bomb blast is to create a smoke screen for Prachi's disappearance. If they had wanted Milsi to believe she is alive, they could have just ensured that Milsi does not reach the next station on time. Prachi realising that Milsi knows which train she boarded could have got off the next station only to get into some other train bound for another destination. Why go to the extreme of having a bomb blast? They wanted to kill that girl and let Prachi take her identity and her child as well.
Now if Milsi thinks Prachi is alive, would he be more at peace?
I don't think so. I think he will lead a more miserable existence wondering about all the troubles Prachi would be going through in his absence for he knows that the girl loves him as much as he does. He will be more desperate and frustrated in his inability to find her. With all the resources at his disposal if he could not track down a woman for four years, it also does not say much about his abilities. Granted that this is a huge country, but still we are talking about a guy who became a millionaire in less than a year. So nothing should be impossible for him.
If on the other hand, if he believes she is dead, then he will atleast assure himself that she is not suffering any longer, although he himself will be inconsolable. When you love someone as much as Michi do each other, it is more the happiness of the other that counts. Milsi knows Prachi left him, thinking it is for his own good and she herself is going to be heartbroken. Knowing that, he would not be able to rest a single day of the four years. Moreover, it will also explain why he could not find her for four years because he did not know she still existed. So assuming that Prachi is dead does not in any way take anything out of his character.
What is more important is how they will show his handling this situation if he presumes her dead. One major fear is that he may hit the bottle. Now that is something nobody wants to see but he can also hit the bottle if he thinks Prachi is alive but he is not able to track her down for years. The frustration can get to him as well. Instead I would rather see him respecting her memories and staying away from alchohol as that is what she would have wanted him to do.
Now does that mean he would move on in life? In either cases he will not be able to move on in life. But atleast in the latter case he will not additionally torture himself that Prachi is suffering. I think that would kill him more. Most likely PPP will be out of the picture post leap because Milsi is not going to take things lying down especially if he thinks Prachi is dead because of her. He will become totally addicted to his work to get his mind off memories of Prachi (which ofcourse he will not be able to, given that she is his life), till he meets her again after the leap, most probably through his daughter.

There is also a feeling that Prachi was shown to believe Milsi survived the cliff fall so why should Milsi not be shown to beleive Prachi is alive? In Prachi's case she had to wait for only a day to get back Milsi. In this case Milsi will have to wait for 4 years to get back Prachi. Would he be able to survive four years thinking Prachi is out there is the world somewhere suffering and he is unable to reach her inspite of all his efforts? The guy will curse himself a thousand times each day of 1461 days and die as many times thinking of her fate.

Opti agreed that Milsi will suffer more if he thinks Prachi is alive but really Opti why not the conviction is something that plagues me. And damn these manhus four years I too don't want him pining for that long but atleast if he thinks she's alive he still may harbour hope, have a reason to live that is to find her. I simply cannot stand him accepting that stupid corpse as Prachi's that will be so unlike him really. As for him not being able to find Prachi well they can always cook up a story that Prachi went to extremes to conceal her identity and rubbish like that. Afterall Ayesha's real killer will also be roaming scott free after four years like all stupid cover ups they can cover this up too but no I don't want Milind to consider this as final on Prachi his love is more than this.

nice post opti, well thought one....yes maybe the train blast scene was deliberately shown so as to make milind believe that prachi is no more rather than making him suffer with a belief that she is alive coz then he will leave no stone unturn in search of her...but now with the current scenario if he believes that she is no more...i would prefer to see a strong milind springing back to life like the turkey days one and moving on with life with sweet memories of his wife until he meets her again...and not a meek and subdued one who just shelves himself and drowns in bottles...that would be a total character rip...

Munee, imagine the frustration and pain the guy will go through for four years not being able to find Prachi and fearing the worst about her. The uncertainty will kill him. Ofcourse it is not a pretty scenario for him to think that she is dead but I feel the alternative is even worse. Atleast if he presumes her dead he will think she is no longer suffering. I am looking at it more from his mental state. Accepting Prachi's death does not belittle their love. It is not like he will go ahead and hook up with the next girl in town. He will live and breathe Prachi.
On more practical terms we have seen many couples losing their spouses. Do they stop living? Does their love die? So I feel Michi love will not be sullied if Milind accepts Prachi's death as real.

Kaveri I too want to see a strong Milind who will go all out to get back his wife once he meets her. I only dont want him to suffer during the 4 years not only for himself but also for her (which he will do if he thinks she is out there in the world, going through insurmountable torture).

i absolutely agree with you opti...so the best option is that he presumes she is dead at present so that atleast he can continue with his life and also show that PPP gateway to hell and yeah once he confronts prachi after 4 years...i want to see that fiery and passionate milind breaking all hell loose just out to get his pari her back😊

Much as I hate seeing Milsi suffering...if he believes that Prachi is still alive he will do everything possible to find her. This should not be too difficult. Advertising in the papers would probably do the trick (they did this for Ba, Bahoo Aur Baby when Gattubhai was missing). So according me...this will be too easy an option for the creatives. Once they embark on a track...they like to stretch it like chewing gum.
The other option of him believing Prachi is no more gives the creatives more opportunities to stretch the track but if Milsi is true to character...this will break him completely and the possiblity of a "Devdas" Milsi is very high (the scene at the chawl where he breaks down in front of Baba after searching for Prachi after the court drama in the PIM track comes to mind). The only way the creatives can avoid Milsi from falling into this trap is if he is shown to go after Mallika on a revenge track. His words to her "If anything happens to my Prachi, I will kill you" makes this a strong possibility.
By going after her business interests and taking over all her wealth leaving her completely powerless without money...he may be able to proove Mallika was Ayesha's killer and then putting her in prison. His thirst for revenge would pull him through this awful time until he accidently meets Prachi again.
Prachi would be shown as living with a new family under a presumed name. If he believes she is dead...then to his mind...this is someone who looks like Prachi with two kids. But slowly....his reactions to her starts him suspecting her to be his Prachi. Again...an opportunity for the creatives to stretch the chewing gum again.
Lots of possibilities...but also bear in mind that Milsi is also going to have to disappear in December/January for Gen X if they haven't banked episodes by then.

I don't think there will another lady. They wouldn't dare do this to us after the Mallika fiasco. We might not have to go through the whole track...at least...I hope not. But if they jump straight to the 4 year in the next week or two...they will need to explain how Milsi pulled through this terrible time in his life. I am sure we will not see too much of his suffering...as the leap is coming soon and just show someone (probably Milsi) narrating the events to someone after the train bomb blast.
