Amitabh Bachchan and Shah Rukh Khan have yet again evaded coming together for Bhootnath. The shooting schedule getting both the superstars finally together to shoot for the film was announced by Ravi Chopra but as many days passed and no signs of them agreeing to shoot together, Chopra has now begun work on another film.
"Bhootnath seems to be jinxed. The film has been getting endlessly delayed for a long time now. There are just a few but significant scenes to be shot with both, the ageing superstar and the King Khan together. The delay has been happening for over six months now for just these few scenes. One is not exactly sure whether it is the reported on-going cold war between Bachchan and SRK that Chopra is unfairly bearing the brunt of," a source close to Ravi Chopra tells us.
"They both had given their assurance to Chopra that they will get shooting for the film from end of August to September. Bachchan had even started his shoot for the film from mid-August at Mehboob Studios, Mumbai. But as the days neared for Shah Rukh's allotted dates, there was no communication coming from the King Khan whether he shall be available for the shoot or not," continues the source.
"Tired of this endless wait, a frustrated Ravi Chopra decided to cancel this shooting schedule of Bhootnath of having SRK and Big B together and started working on an altogether new project, Banda Yeh Bindaas Hai (earlier titled Pappu Paas Ho Gaya) with Govinda, Tabu and Lara Dutta," the source says.
When we contacted Ravi Chopra regarding the matter, he just told us, "I am presently traveling and out of Mumbai. I will speak about this when I am back."
Shah Rukh Khan is currently not shooting for any film and is busy with the promotions of his home production, Om Shanti Om which is set for a November 9 release, this Diwali. While in recent times, Big B has always shown his enthusiasm about shooting with SRK for Bhootnath, the King Khan had avoided speaking about this subject completely.
