KBC look 'too affected'; they prefer the style icon in his trademark classy suitsThe new, apparently spunky look that Amitabh Bachchan has sported for Kaun Banega Crorepati's second edition has left Mumbai's designers baulking. They prefer him in suits to the affected trendiness of a 'cool' leather jacket. Designer Surily Goyal said the show's organisers should have stuck to his look in KBC-I. "Classy dresses suit him better. They haven't changed the show's format, so why change his look?" she said.
Falguni Shane Peacock said Bachchan did look younger this time, but asked: "In how many episodes can we see him wearing a leather jacket?

In the craze for giving him the 'casual look' one wonders if the essential style that Bachchan has been known for has been sacrificed. Most designers spoken to say yes. For the average Bachchan fan who saw him in Bunty Aur Babli (where he sported similar clothes) it was a character that they were watching, and not Amitabh Bachchan the 60-plus superstar. He does look younger. But I wonder how long we can stand to watch him in a leather jacket. There is little one can do with leather after all. For sometime this look is fine but in the long run it would not appeal. He should go back to the classics. And if it is about trying something new he should rather try linen. He looks fine. But it is primarily because he is Amitabh Bachchan that he carries off the look he is sporting presently. Nevertheless, if it was all about a new look perhaps he could have done with a new hairstyle because that is something he has been sporting for a long time. Yes, the look gets to become a little too youngish. Given an opportunity I would have possibly given him a more in-between look… not too young, not too old.Meghna K

The look makes him more approachable. With this dressing he looks cooler and more fashionable. As against the stern and serious look that he sported earlier, this is fun. It also gives a different freshness to the whole show.
