KBC News - The week that was... |
Week eleven seemed to be lacking the same excitement that we witnessed last week. It began with Bal Bhadra Dev from Vishakapatnam who had been waiting since Thursday last week to begin play. After initial hiccups Bhadra managed to reach 12,50,000 rupees. But unfortunately rather than building on it he gave a wrong answer soon after and came back to 6,40,000 rupees. Next on the Hot Seat on Monday night was Dominic Fernandes from Mumbai. Dominic resumed play on Tuesday night. Like Bhadra before him, Dominic too kept using his lifelines at regular intervals and didn't last in the game for very long. He won 6,40,000 rupees. Replacing Fernandes was Washim Ahmed from Chennai who had collected 20,000 rupees on Tuesday night. Steadily moving up Ahmed continued playing on Wednesday night. He steadily reached 3,20,000 rupees. Unsure about the next answer, he made the smart decision to leave with what he had than to risk it. Next on the Hot Seat on Wednesday night was Manoj Pande. Playing well he reached 1,60,000 rupees by close of play. The week which had begun slightly lack luster was now looking much better. Manoj Pande continued a brilliant performance on Thursday night too. Working his way through the questions, his sensible play helped him win 50 lakh rupees. Unable to answer the 1 crore question, he made the wise decision of leaving the game. We now have young Rahul Kamdar from Pune whose test will begin on Monday night. How do you think Rahul will play – will he repeat what most youngsters before him have done or will he play as maturely as Manoj Pande before him? Friday, April 6, 2007 |
