She came, she shook and she conquered. But in spite of her choc-o-bloc schedule, Colombian singer Shakira didn't forget about director- choreographer Farah Khan, who choreographed her closing act at the 2006 MTV Video Music Awards in New York.

Says Farah, "I was stunned when I got a call from Shakira's manager informing me that she had reserved two tickets for me for her concert on Sunday. Shirish (Kunder) and I went for her show and we had a blast.

Before the show, we went backstage to meet Shakira and spent some time chatting with her.

She was so warm and sweet and greeted me with a big hug. I was stunned because I hadn't expected her to remember."

Special gift

OBJECT OF AFFECTION: Farah Khan

Farah had taken a present for Shakira. It was an antique ornate silver necklace belonging to Farah's mother. "She opened it immediately and said she liked it very much.

Now mom will kill me when she hears I have given it away. In return, I've got an autographed picture of Shakira for her!" says Farah.

Khan was thrilled when Shakira's manager also requested a DVD of songs that Farah has choreographed over the years.

"They said they wanted to see all the songs that I have choreographed so that we can work out something in the future," she says.

So did she ask the sexy performer to do an item number in her forthcoming film Om Shanti Om?

"We are still working on it. Shakira's travelling for the next six months and extremely busy, and I have to complete and release OSO by November 2007. Let's wait and watch," she says, mysteriously.

Shakira loves Shah Rukh Khan. However, the actor couldn't make it for the event as he was shooting for KBC3. Nevertheless, his wife Gauri was there with their daughter Suhana.

"Shakira has seen the Chaiyyan chaiyyan song from Dil Se and kept pointing to Shah Rukh in the song, exclaiming, 'I know that guy'.

I told her he's the Tom Cruise of India. I promised her during the MTV awards that I'd put her on top of a train when I do a music video with her," concludes Farah.

Mudra mania

Farah first met Shakira when she was invited to choreograph a remixed version of her hit number Hips Don't Lie for the 2006 MTV Video Music Awards last year.

Farah had said then, "Shakira and I have connected beautifully. She loves the movements that I've given her.

So much so that she now wants me to do a music video for her.

She's now into classical Indian dancing.

In fact, she's got an Indian lady in Chicago to teach her classical mudras."
