Siddharth Basu masterminds new quiz show

The mastermind behind some of our toughest quiz shows on television is ready to take quizzing to a higher level. Siddarth Basu is busy planning his next show, with a working title that is bound to make competitors nervous - 'Heart Attack'.

"This is the Indianised version of an international format," says Basu. "Ours is modelled on the quiz show Heartbeat, where time is measured by a contestant's heartbeat."

This show promises to be dramatic. "All contestants will be isolated in a chamber, and will be wired to the telephone, Internet, etc. They will also be able to hear their own heartbeat, which in fact, will measure the time they have to answer a question."

Thus success or failure will just be a heartbeat away. Naturally, the show will demand cool, calm candidates. "Yes, they'll only have so many heartbeats to crack questions and there won't be any margin for errors," agrees Basu. The prize money is high this time, the winner will receive Rs 1 crore. The show is scheduled to come on air in April, on StarOne.
