Same here. I too found that show is drown in cliche itv feminism ideas where actually female lead is just pseudo feminist or selective feminist having no real spine. Plus I don't like that actress much so I am not following it.
Anyways FL chahe kisi bhi show ki ho. Characterisation full on strong smart woman ka hoga lekin let one year pass that same fl will act exactly opposite of her character trait.
Lets wait for Katha now. Already She has received enough bashing. Lets see what makers have to show on screen to justify it.
In reality, we are more annoyed with sudden change in Aarav and his unending hatred against Viaan. Also, sudden turn of events. We don't like the reason for separation was gunshot which was not even natural and Papa Grewal got shot. Honestly, I would have liked if Katha shouted at Viaan after Aarav fell unconscious and Viaan waa still trying to explain himself to Katha. Then, Katha should have shouted at him and then separation should have happened.
Leave writing and everything but, If the third person has no problem with accepting Katha and is actually a good person and Aarav likes him then, I don't find it unlikely Katha will marry this person. For Viaan too, Aarav embracing Viaan was one of the main reasons for her accepting him. At that time, Aarav was in his senses and wanted his mother's happiness too in that so, he planned a meeting between Katha and Viaan
but now, he is completely out of senses.
Him getting out of sense makes some sense but, not a lot. Before that, Aarav was already deeply traumatized at knowing all of a sudden he lost his father. Everyone at school was blaming her mother but, turns out Viaan was the real person who hurt Katha. With prior violence inflicted on Viaan and considering his maturity shown before, he constructed something in mind don't know what but, it would have been really bad. Also, don't know what explanation Katha gave to Aarav when he asked why Viaan is in jail. Or why his grandfather got shot. There is literally little explanation for it. I think all this will be addressed in the upcoming episodes.
Shouldn't say this at this point, I have observed that writers are able to execute a regular episodes about nuanced topics much better compared to that of episodes which have a lot of drama or action. Be it ONS, be it Shamita's case, be it reveling Vaanya's secret or be it Maaya Mausi all these tracks have some sort of drama or action and all these are hated tracks
On the other hand, subtle and peaceful tracks are USP of this show. I liked fatherhood track, it was so subtle and beautiful. I liked Alibaug track. I liked first trip of Katha and Viaan across marine drive where they discussed various aspects of life and many more subtle tracks. Last episode actually good because them missing each other actually heartwrenching and, felt like old show was coming back. But, bts and other knowing other things completely ruined the episode for me.
I am reluctantly interested in what they have to show now. Show has come full circle and it is again at the stage where any progress in story feels impossible.
