Yes I've read your posts , your analysis on K-V and this whole show was good

Honestly their relationship never sat well.with me even when we got good storylines like Lonawala visit , that architect convention sceme ....all those scenes were like lollipops to hide the bitter reality of their relationship

Lol yeah it was a really long rant....i always had trouble with reading the EDT's cause everyone over here posts huge posts and i did the same todaysmiley37

I wouldn't have even posted this if i hadn't seen a fan attacking Gireesh sir in insta with comments like "thank you for ruining the show" in an unrelated reel....like seriously?

Yep the Katha slu*shaming and Viaan stanning was too horrible

The only sane and actually progressive character in this show is Farah....i know that she has her share of flaws but she didn't care that Katha was a single mom and asked Eshan to shoot his shot with her cause she knew that he liked her.....she also did it for her twisted gain which didn't pan out but that point really has nothing to do in this context

Like you said this show is going to end and none of this is gonna matter anymore...

@Bold, sadly yes. But, not in the whole. It is mostly about the CRIME vs ONS part I disagree with. Shouldn't say preleap as preleap period is very rich.

I do agree that Viaan's redemption was unconvincing but, it was unconvincing because Katha didn't took any action on him and easily forgave him. When the victim has forgiven her harasser who is someone else to punish him. And her forgiveness made sense because of the way her character was written. Won't say its well written but, wasn't bad as well. Katha's character was not of the kind who keeps grudges. She didn't kept against grewals and didn't kept for Viaan as well. If you take it realistically as well, technically Viaan is the reason Aarav is alive today and one crore is no small amount which lessens the reason to keep any grudge. Thing is that Viaan is harasser that will never change but, after Katha took the money, she also became a partner. It can be called a prostitution but, not a rape. This is again something discussed in old posts on this forum. But, you are silent reader hope you have read them as well.

Katha should have punished him but, after ONS or after he kept on harrassing her by making her overwork or during the Shamita's case. But, at this point it feels completely unjustified to ask for his punishment for the crime he did for which he has full realization of it and completely changed himself. He shouldn't be given clean chit for it but, shouldn't be punished as well.

I also hate when someone starts to blame Katha for ONS because Viaan has redeemed himself. They come up with excuses that she didn't tell him the reason. Person in front of you wants to spend night with you and you want Katha to tell she is not single but, a mother. From a pervert POV, I am more interested in single than single mothers. There is simply no defence for Viaan for that night. But, there is no point in asking for his punishment as well.

Also, Katha didn't have any choice when Viaan offered her ONS as Aarav was on verge of death and Doctor was asking for money. What if she returned after an hour and Viaan was like "I am no longer interested in you". From her POV, this was only option for her. It was her last resort and she had no idea if she will succeed or fail in her endeavour.

Now, Katha has unexplanably bad dialogues but, just after Grewal house fiasco and even some episodes before that, Katha started receiving hate as if she offered ONS, used the money. In the name of ship no one is considering the ill effects of this truth when a child comes to know about it. Many said Viaan should leave Katha as Katha's family almost killed him but, not for Katha where Viaan's family first digged the truth and then threatened to ruin her life and her child's life. Honestly, it was disgusting to see.

Your first paragraph was the very reason i wanted to keep an open mind and continue with the show after Katha forgave him....Aarav is alive because of that "deal" she lost her soul to save a life that's why it's unfair and disgusting to blame Katha

People seriously blamed Katha for ONS? that's horrible! She had no choice ( even i mentioned it but my context was that she should've first told the reason for her loan to Jeetu bhai )

She had no choice other than to accept for ONS....it's horrible that some fans blame her for it when clearly it's Viaan who needs to be blamed

I have always maintained that though ONS was viaan's proposal and definitely it was indecent/immoral one but putting it in frame of hardcore crime or sin is just not needed. I would still say it was consensual s*x between two adults however the motivation behind it was totally different for two of them.

I guess you weren't there earlier otherwise there had been long debates about it in different topics and finally the topic were done away with because people were tired of fighting and neither one was backing down or trying to understand others pov. Its nobody's fault, the topic is like that only, sensitive. Different people perceive it differently.

Since it was a direct proposal people reacted strongly otherwise these same people from ages having been watching itv shows where male lead and in laws cross all limits of regressiveness/misogyny/ domestic violence with female lead in the name of culture and audience still wish to see them together and also ship them. But I guess thats another debate.

Now coming to ons, what viaan did was wrong but katha also has been the stupid person since starting. So for me its difficult to root for her. If people say viaan proposing ons was workplace harassment then katha hiding personal details and getting job on that basis is also breach of contract. If they ever decided to take it to court, it could have been a counter claims from both sides.

Viaan's daddy issues behind him being misogynistic seems lame at superficial level but if you think about it, a troubled childhood can play important role in shaping up your personality. Look at aarav now, although his problems are not addressed but his anger issues subsided a little, if they didn't have doctor in their life, aarav would have been traumatized all his life and who knows what his anger issues would turn him into as an adult.

Same thing happened with viaan. Dont see a grown up man directly. Think about 10 year old child who got brainwashed into thinking that there are women who breaks family for money, the trauma of his father leaving him alone and choosing other women. And just as aarav has anger issues its still better because he vents out frustration but child viaan closed up and bottled up everything inside. Definitely such child would grow up with very strong beliefs as an adult. So viaan being misogynistic seems believable and his urge to "test" every woman around him, however wrong for others, but seems normal for him.

Coming to katha, again repeating myself but she is always shown as stupid, over compassionate, over bearing, over of everything from the starting. She had choices much less difficult than ons like using influence to prioritise Aarav's case in charity, rival company offer but she still chose ons. She could have left when viaan was being a douchebag and harassing her after ons but she chose to stay.So I dont sympathize with her for stupid decisions.

She had many chances where she could have told jeetu bhai or ehsan the truth and ask for monetary help but she didn't. Her justification was she needed this job and saying the truth can get her fired. When viaan had asked for ons it was a do or die call for her. When everything is at risk people generally try every option. She begged in front of kailash garewal, she could have implored from viaan also citing the real reason. Why at that time fear of getting fired stopped her? So yes, while one cant solely blame her for ons but certainly her stupidity played a very important role in it.

Now coming to viaan's redemption, I found it to be real. It was not a simple whitewash. He really did felt guilty. There was a symbolism also viaan went to balcony and it felt like he will jump and end his life. Old viaan did die there. From apology scene to slowly learning and realising he has been such a douchebag to women all his life and hence correcting his erros, changing his way of thinking and in that course becoming a new person altogether was all so believable. That proper man jaap, people coming forward and singing his praises was just to establish that he was not a bad person in totality. He was compassionate, gentleman and caring since starting towards people in general. Just this misogynistic part made him rude and opinionated towards women and he realised his mistakes and changed it too. His shayris were also with him since starting, its not like he started it when his redemption started. So I dont find shayri used to sugarcoat everything, it was just his character trait signifying that he is very deep and layered character.

Also I have a theory that kaviaan were attracted to each other from starting thats why they ultimately went on with ons. Viaan also mentioned it later that he liked her from the starting. Katha was so busy in saving her child but may be subconsciously she liked him and thats why she developed a soft corner for him after knowing his past and forgave him easily later. In OG there are so many instances to establish this fact that they both were attracted to each other since the starting. There was a proper long scene where ML explains this to his friend. But we never get to see it here.

The Shayris part i agree was from the beginning

Agree with all your other points

Katha too had multiple chances to tell the truth to Jeetu bhai anx Ehsan , she should've done that

My problem was the twitter ( X) people stanning Viaan and bashing actors for doing their jobs ....that fuelled my anger to post this over here

Yes, it does happen everytime in every show. It should be all about characters but ultimately people make it about actors which is so wrong. Then their fan groups joining the debate make it worse. Once the mud slinging match starts people forget all logic and come with all sorts of names.

Only thing was that they should've shown Viaan's redemption in great detail rather than him doing a basic thing and people amping it up to 1000× just to make the audience understand that he has changed....i didn't like that approach , the makers should've accounted for the audience's intelligence and just given us the scenes of his redemption rather than have a character say "he has changed" , show it in his actions in detail! They did do that but i wish that was done without other characters chiming in and the writers using them to give commentary that he has changed ; that broke the flow of such deep scenes

Yes, it could have been executed in better way.

But then all the things could have been much better smiley36

Tbh, I found that an itv show handling such sensitive topics is still better than showing saas bahu saazish crap.

So yes, this show may be andhon mein kaana raaja but still...smiley36

Alpviram was the best Sony Tv show to handle a sensitive topic with only 20% of melodramasmiley36

@bold, it will be opposite, Katha can sue the company for doing gender bias in giving job and promotion. Even it is private company, they have to follow Government rules and regulations.

@red, completely disagree. I dont understand where it is hinted that Katha was interested in him subconsciously before ONS. The theories are completely made up to greywashing Viaan ONS offer and to justify love story.

There are phases of life. There is phase where Katha just want to save Aarav, then she was scared of Viaans touch after ONS and try to keep distance from him, then she was consciously aware of his presence/action, then she become curious about him, after knowing his past she instantly forgive him then got interested in him in lonavala (their first proper talk), from there love story start. Even in their love story there are phases.

Rest of the thing, I agree.
