Honestly speaking, I just can't seem to fully hate Reet. I don't necessarily think she 'hates' Katha, but is feeling threatened by her. Perhaps the reason could be that she feels Katha will get more importance in the Garewal household since she is the eldest daughter-in-law, etc. Also, I think that her having daughters and Katha having a son contributes to her insecurity, as she might think the Garewals might prefer the son (due to unfortunate Indian standards).

Basically what I mean to say is I think that her main insecurity is that she and her kids will get ignored in the Garewal household, and will always be treated unequally compared to Katha and Arav.

To be honest, her worries do seem to be a reflection of normal human behaviour; her jealousy does seem to have a reasonable basis. But I think that the makers are not really portraying her with the nuance needed to make her more human. Instead, she seems like a typical ITV jealous choti bahu in most of the scenes, so I get irritated by that at times. From the promos though (where Reet asks MIL about how Katha got the money), it seems like she will become much more negative anyway, so I guess the makers won't really spend time to make her into a nuanced character.

Also, am I the only one who likes Reet's outfits?! smiley36 I don't know but I find her dresses kind of unique, which shows that she has her own sense of style. The off-shoulder kaftan type of dress is an interesting mixture of both modern and traditional.

Guys, this is samar(ehsan) 's interview... If someone wants to, can watch it to remove sunday blues 😁

He is such a child when he talks... It's a cute iv😍🥰

This actor (Samar) is so effortless as the charming Ehsan that we saw in the beginning...he just doesn't suit the negative role imo. Bring the old Ehsan back 😭

Reet must have spent years developing a bond with her in-laws (might not be for genuine reasons but she still put in the effort). She looks at her house as her territory. Katha or anything related to her was not discussed ever in all these years and even Katha never tried to approach the family. Reet was obviously fine with that. Her kids were showered with love, her husband was looking after the business, she was the next in line to rule over the house (after her mother in law)

Suddenly, out of nowhere Katha pops up..she talks to her father in law privately..cancer..grand child..money..all these things come out and Reet feels threatened. All her hard work seems to be a waste. She can see her dreams slipping away. The in laws adore Aarav and they admire and respect Katha. What took Reet years was achieved by Katha within days. No wonder Reet feels insecure.

He seems such cool calm and sorted person in reality. I like his interviews. There is no arrogance at all.

In fact whole team of katha seems to get along really well. I hope this continues as we all have seen what bad impact a personal tension between actors can bring on show.

I just started watching the shows few days ago and is catching up with previous episodes . I loved the show .

Unlike dreamy romance shows this is very emotional and practical story .

great points sidni and amra -- am also thinking that rather than a negative character, reet is just insecure. in addition to what you two posted, reet is very aware that people don't take to her readily. she is the type of personality who tries really hard but still struggles to make friend who genuinely like her. reet is aware that she is attention hungry. so katha naturally getting the attention and love that she has tried to get would be definitely upsetting.

reet does have great style for a pregnant lady - liking her kaftans.

I have seen ladies like her in real life. So i would not say she is a typical itv character only. Her character is very much real.

Men always are the head of family and business in orthodox traditional family. So men have lots of importance given to them anyways. They are pretty secure about their position. But its not the same with women. Women of such family have no say in business. They are educated but dont do anything out of it. They are just housewives, their job is to only keep family's maryada intact. So the only way the get importance in family is through their position as everyone's favourite in household. Fav bahu is likely to get house keys from saas and affection and importance from sasur. Also if she gives birth to son then sasur will further pamper her for giving their vaaris.

Here, reet has two daughters and she is already witnessing papaG's growing affection for aarav. She fears she would lose her position of fav bahu to katha. Since reet doesn't have anything else to get validation from apart from her position, so she is feeling insecure from katha.

so true; that would make her pain and insecurity more relatable to TRP aunties no? would they still make her negative? after all, how can reet compete with superwoman katha who seems to be excelling in every field whereas reet has nowhere else to show her talents except at home. however, even there, her efforts are not praised on their own unless she voices her own trumpet. that must be frustrating. plus is yuvraj seems to genuinely love her though he is at times distracted because of work. he knew about the presents that papaG was getting but didn't think of them as a big deal or something to tell her about. he is secure in his job and his place in the family. so hard for him to understand her fears....
