hiyaaa JW... fantastic part.. Prom Night, okay first off i didnt go to mine... just not my kind of thing...😕

but i really liked reading about their whole Prom shopping, i luved kasturi's dress, classy... and alway in is the black dress...😃

Robbie very flabouyant and larger then life outfit to suit his popularity...well choosen...

i thought it was very endearing of the mothers to go shopping with their kids for prom night, though probably robbie's rep took a bit of a beating having his 2 mom's go shopping with him...😆

awww poor kasturi, i really am bonding with the depiction of her character..she very shy and soft and caring..i feel for her when she see robbie getting close to anita... hope robbie realizes soon that kasturi's abrupt change has something to do with him...

OMG puraani jeans, what a song, brings back amazing memories, and i think for anyone whose been in luv through high school with a popular guy can feel for kas...having to see anita the focus of robbie's eyes right now must be a hard pill to swallow... so now we are in college cant wait to see what happens next

and the biggest question is whose eyes were watching kasturi throughout prom night??? suspense...hmmmmm

I just read all the parts and I will be frank with my comments. Hope you dont mind. I actually read the last part and fell totally in love with this ff 😳 so went back and read all the other parts. I never expected it to have such a sad beginning. I loved the first part and Robbie's anguish and pain is still pulling at my heart strings. 😭 The 2nd 3rd parts I felt was a bit draggy..could have been more crisper. And when you tell the flashback can you please convey in some way that it is a flashback otherwise after we read two lines only then we find out it is flashback and then again we have to go back and read.he best was the last part...I am totally bowled by this one. I also liked the childhood parts. It was very realistic and anyone can relate to their childhood.

Devika is really very sweet here. The way you have bonded the two families is also very sweet. the reader would want to be part of such a family. But the way you have brought destiny is so real...Now I am really curious to know what happened to kasturi...so please write fast the next part. I want to see a happy Robbie soon...I cant see him in tears baby! 😳

🤗 ....glad you liked it....and glad you liked the mothers accompanying endearing 😊 😊 ....India mein the parenting stuff is thoda different...Most of us stay with the parents till we get married and in a lot of households parents will accompany kids to the shopping....even if one is older....Robbie's outfit is flambouyant though very stylish andcontemporary...aakhir apna rockstar hai 😳 😃 ....and I think you would have perhaps guessed who was watching Kasturi in the prom 😳 😳

I will try my best ...though they way I write ...I picurise it as scenes and write ...so the flashback comes in between and are intentionlly done so...without a hint...
Also wanted to build up Robbie and Kasturi's formative years as it always interest me to know what makes successful people 😊 ....Brevity has never been my strength 😆 and I recognise my writing can be boring 😆 ....And yes, destiny is the main thing in this FF....as in all our lives 😳 ....coz for most of us thats the only thing that topples our applecart 😳 ....

The shopping, summer vacation scenes were really cute. Was it robbie who was watching her throughout at the Prom - How sweet.

So anita and robbie are dating and making poor kasturi sad. Btw, kasturi is this bright popular girl right, so how come no guy has proposed to her yet? I mean i really would love to read how robbie gets possessive and jealous about the whole thing.

I remember the song, great choice.

Finally one more thing, was it a typo cos u had written they gave their 10th papers and got into SRCC, wasnt it supposed to be 12th?

PART 6


Towards the end of the second year of college, Kasturi finds that she is getting extra attention from a third year student named Girish Sahay. Kasturi is part of the publishing team of the Business Magazine of SRCC and ends up meeting Girish who has come to contribute an article. Quite a few girl students are smitten by him, but Girish, having been introduced to Kasturi and taken part along with her in an elocution competition is now enamored by her.

Girish belongs to wealthy family involved in an automobile spare parts business and is one of the top rankers. Kasturi has been asked for dates quite a few times by others, but has so far denied going out alone with guys. Girish pursues her relentlessly and charmingly…and Kasturi finally gives in to go for a date with him…….partly out of courtesy and partly because she thinks….. this is the only way to get over Robbie.

Needless to say, Robbie is the first one to know about it and though he does not say anything immediately, the first thing he does is to collect information about Girish. Only after being assured that Girish seems to be a decent guy does Robbie relax about the date. Kasturi, however, is further dejected to know that Robbie has not so much as felt left out, or even jealous about her date with Girish ………and is actually encouraging her.

And so Kasturi begins to accept Girish's invitations….And as is typically the case, sometimes Robbie-Anita and Kasturi-Girish go out on double dates. Kasturi is polite, amiable and does give reasonable attention to Girish … But deep down Kasturi is always detached and her mind is completely occupied with Robbie.

Meanwhile, Anita and Robbie are having friction in their relationship…..Robbie slowly but definitely realizes that Anita treats him mostly as a trophy prize to capitalize on his popularity. And more disturbingly she does not mind the attention given by other guys….this does sort of irk Robbie ….just as Kasturi disturbs Anita…..But here Robbie is very firm….Kasturi is a dear friend and will remain as such and Anita has to be mature and accepting about it. Anita's resentment is that anything relating to Kasturi assumes importance….to which Robbie retorts that he loves his family too…tomorrow if Anita holds a grudge that why is he interacting so much with them, then is he supposed to leave his family?.

The tussle between the two continues….Robbie discusses this with Kasturi…who gets alarmed and tries to distance herself away from him…Only to be severely and firmly admonished by Robbie….that how could a third person dictate how they should be with each other….. Kasturi tries to explain to him that now he has his own life and any girlfriend will not tolerate that her boyfriend gives attention to someone else…but Robbie emphatically says that whoever accepts him has to accept his family and the Chawlas….Thats It!!....Kasturi therefore tries to make subtle and feeble attempts to stay out of way…though Robbie mostly thwarts these attempts.

Anyways, both Robbie and Anita decide to give each other some leeway and as such don't call it quits……but increasingly their interaction gets reduced with passage of time.

The third year of college is under way and one day the four (Robbie-Anita and Kasturi-Girish) have gone for dinner at Nirula's, a well known restaurant near Vasant Vihar. They end up spending quite a lot of time in the restaurant.

On the way back to the car, the girls are walking ahead followed by Robbie and Girish. A group of four rowdy guys pass few comments on the girls….after all Delhi is notorious for its eve teasing. Robbie glares back, but Girish stops him and tells him its best to move and ignore such nonsense….As they are walking, the rowdy boys follow them. With difficulty Girish restrains Robbie. But the following continues and finally one guy utters some indecencies to Anita….Robbie moves ahead and goes and almost slaps them ….Girish, Kasturi and Anita have to physically stop Robbie….And they make Robbie get into the car….As they are moving away one of the boy says something to Kasturi. Thats it …...

Robbie gets out of the car and all hell breaks loose…..Robbie begins to beat them up…..the other three (Girish, Kasturi, Anita) are immobile for a couple of minutes because nobody could have imagined the otherwise cool, amiable and dignified Robbie to ever get violent….Anita is horrified at watching Robbie like this….Kasturi starts crying, screaming, desperately trying to stop Robbie….But Robbie almost beats the living daylights out of one of the guys constantly screaming abuses and repeating that how the hell did you even dare to look at Kasturi….how the hell did you even dare to say a word to Kasturi……Robbie himself is also man-handled and hit in return ….Girish being the lone guy, tries unsuccessfully to stop the fight and rescue Robbie…..

Ultimately, a crowd gathers and tries to diffuse the tension…The warning that the police have arrived manages to make the guys go away threatening abuses and …..and Girish has to use every possible strength in his body to contain Robbie and drag him away.

Girish manages to drop a bleeding and still agitated Robbie and a sobbing Kasturi home and in the interests of the situation decides to drop home a disapproving Anita himself…..A crying Kasturi helps an injured Robbie to the doorstep …One look at him and Devika and Purushottam are alarmed ….Devika cries out for an explanation and a sobbing Kasturi states the facts…..Devika is horrified and tells Robbie that why did he have to get physical?....Anything could have happened. Robbie angrily justifies himself ….and at least Purushottam supports him that no one can tease our daughters and get away…But at the same time Purushottam tells him that he should have not have gone this far……Ultimately, Robbie is taken to his room, medically attended to and pacified…..

Kasturi is personally taken home by Devika and Purushottam and the Chawlas are informed about the incident…..The elders discuss the matter grimly and the men seem to agree that what Robbie did was not entirely wrong but he should have been restrained and let them off with some warnings….and not got physical…..one because that is not what we should be doing and its an inappropriate trait to have and two because we need to be careful as you don't know what hooligans can come up with…..Purushottam says he will speak to Robbie about it….All decide to not remind the children further of this and help get things back to normalcy…

All throughout the night Kasturi keeps thinking. Several thoughts raced through her mind…What prompted Robbie to do that?….So far he has never so much as verbally abused someone….Robbie is not someone who can hurt a person…Why did he take matters into his own hands…..For the first time he did not even listen to her!!…..How is Anita going to react to this?…she looked visibly annoyed with Robbie's actions…..And what about Girish, he looked exasperated ….What if Girish tells her to stay away from Robbie?

Next day, mid-morning, Kasturi comes to meet Robbie….He has suffered a few cuts and bruises, including a cut on his forehead…and his arm is swollen. Kasturi gingerly enters the room ……Robbie is at his study desk trying to take off his mind and trying to concentrate on some music notes……Kasturi comes in and sits next to him….She is red-eyed from crying through the night….

Kasturi: kaise ho ab?
Robbie does not reply….but one look at him and she knows that he is still highly emotionally strung
Kasturi, again: Robbie ….kuch to bolo
Robbie still does not reply.

Now tears well up in Kasturi's eyes and she tries to tenderly touch the cut on Robbie's forehead….but stops halfway and stifles a sob….
Robbie turns around, looks at her and says: tch….tum jaanti ho mujhe tumhara rona achha nahi lagta
Kasturi: To phir kya karun….look at your state …rona nahi aayega to kya aayega

And spontaneously an emotional Robbie draws Kasturi in his arms to comfort her and Kasturi weeps hugging him back. Robbie continues to comfort her till her crying stops and wipes Kasturi's tears
Robbie:…..Ok now rona bund…chalo chalo …bas enuf nahi to evening news mein announce karenge that Delhi mein floods aa gaye hain
And Kasturi breaks into a wry smile
Robbie: Waise tum teen note neeche ke sur lagake rotii to raag 'puriya' sound karta (Hindustani music has various 'raagas' that define the scale on which music is made with a given set of notes, its a typical order in which the notes appear in melodies. Raag 'puriya' is a sad sorrowful raag)

Kasturi says "Shut up!! .." and both of them share a laugh.
After a few minutes, Kasturi: Robbie, ….you know you scared me…when that guy first hit you I almost stopped breathing…Kyun aisa kiya tumne…aaj ke pehle to kabhie bhi you have never been violent …even in your football matches…suddenly kya hua…
Robbie turning assertive: Those guys…how dare they even look at you forget utter a word.
Kasturi: Par Robbie this is Delhi…and you know how our city is….these kind of incidents keep happening and we have to take it in our stride and
Robbie interrupting: Stride…what stride…you wanted me to wave them good-byes and say ….aao, hamari be-izzati karke jaao
Kasturi: Par hum sab se to jhagda nahi mol sakte naa….what if those guys were stronger…what if they had more friends somewhere nearby …what if they had a weapon!!
Kasturi is now agitated

Robbie now very assertive: To ho jaata jo hona hai…one thing Kash…tumhe mere aage koi kuch kahe ya chue to uski khair nahi
Kasturi incredulously: Hum Delhi mein rehte hain Robbie….get real……and even if this was not Delhi…this can happen anywhere….
Robbie snapping back: Don't give me that bhashan….you say these things happen …well so far they have not happened before me…..if I come to know that anybody gave you a fraction of a discomfort …that person will rue his action
Kasturi angrily: Oh come on Robbie, since when have you turned so street bully types….this was not appropriate behaviour …
Robbie equally angry: You know what …jo kehna hai kaho …jo samajhna hai samjho….you know very well that this incident is an exception and that what I did was somewhere needed.

Kasturi now not knowing what to say: Par wahan Anita bhi to thi…..tumhe kuch ho jata to… and they were bad to her also…
Robbie loudly: Didn't I react to the Anita thing too ..only Girish stopped me…and when it comes to you nothing else matters!!!!

Kasturi hears this ….and the words seem to slowly sink in…A lot of thoughts race through her mind…parts of the above conversation play in her mind…and she asks, quite cautiously: Why Robbie?
Robbie irritated: Why …why ka matlab kya why
Kasturi haltingly: Why does nothing else matter
Robbie exasperated: Oh come on Kasturi….has anything else mattered to me when it comes to you
Kasturi tries to desperately read his face and expressions but cannot understand anything, but the fact that he looked stern.

Kasturi avoiding his glance: Robbie have you called up Anita as yet
Robbie: Naah…will call her later
Kasturi: What if she is upset with you at picking up this fight
Robbie exasperated: Agar who upset hai to hai…sorry but mujhe jo thik lagaa who maine kiya….and now Kash go get ready….we need to go to college in a couple of hours.

A thoughtful Kasturi leaves and goes back to her house….thoughtful about Robbie….thoughtful about Anita ….and also about what is going to be Girish's reaction

As Kasturi imagined, Anita is not cool about what has happened…she is miffed that Robbie could react so strongly and fiercely….but she is even more miffed that he reacted so strongly to a single comment made to Kasturi….Robbie tries to reason with her, even apologizes with her…..but at the same time does not feel remorse for the fact that he reacted strongly to a comment made to Kasturi…This irks Anita even more….and she sulks for a couple of days….In the end Robbie manages to douse the unpleasant vibes …at the cost of promising Anita that he will spend one whole day with her.

And on the other hand Girish thinks Robbie is a violent personality and expresses his displeasure of Robbie's attitude…..He even tells Kasturi to not be very close to Robbie…Upon hearing this Kasturi gives Girish a piece of her mind….and both are upset with each other.

As they are wont, Robbie and Kasturi tell each other the reactions of their respective dates ……..Robbie says that he will call up Girish and apologize for any inconvenience. Kasturi appreciates the efforts taken by Robbie to see that things and people surrounding her are comfortable. And so some bit of the tension between Girish and Kasturi is reduced. Robbie speaks to Girish, even apologizes to him and genuinely tries to help alleviate Girish's reservations about him. Robbie puts the incident behind him and forgets it.

But apart from Robbie, the incident plays on the minds of Kasturi, Girish and Anita.

Meanwhile, through some friends Kasturi finds out that Anita……is double dating Robbie with another guy, named Manish………Kasturi is shocked at finding this out and even lets Robbie know…..but Robbie says that he knows that Manish is Anita's friend and that someone must be just spreading rumours….Deep down Robbie himself suspects it….but does not want to burden Kasturi with his heartache and worry her….After all the third year exams are round the corner.

Kasturi meanwhile tells Robbie to be watchful and careful….and prays to God that let this be a rumour and let Robbie not get hurt…..But she tells her friends to keep a watchful eye on Anita.

Robbie and Kasturi also discuss the plans for the music studio with Ariv…The decision to go ahead with the music career is a big one and as much as Robbie, Ariv too needs to be comfortable with it….Otherwise Robbie would have to go solo….Both know that its not going to be an easy task getting around their parents. Ariv finally gives his whole-hearted support to Robbie in his future endeavors…..And Kasturi and Robbie decide to break the news to Dad once the exams are over.

Its a fortnight after the Vasant Vihar fight incident and one evening Kasturi is in her room, studiously getting her grip over an economics theory. Robbie reaches Chawla house and Kaushalya opens the door…..She looks at Robbie and asks…."Aagaya puttar…nashta khale pehle …mutter ki kachori banayi hai…..Kya hua?...tu thik to hai."…Robbie looks unwell…He answers "Nahi Maa, mein thik hun….Kasturi kahaan hai"…"Apne kamre mein hai"…Kaushalya answers…."Acha chal …pehle khale puttar"…..Robbie denies eating …"Maa …ab bhuk nahi hai…baad mein khalunga"….

And Robbie goes upstairs to meet Kasturi…He enters the room. She says immediately…."I have cracked the Keynisian theory today….jaldi baith jao…lets go over it together…".. Robbie just comes and stands next to her. After a few seconds Kasturi looks up saying…"Kya huaaa…Robbie …Robbie, what happened".

What Kasturi sees is something which the plain eyes of Kaushalya don't .......it is a very distraught Robbie….Kasturi helps Robbie sit and makes him drink water…Robbie just sips it…Kasturi gently asks…"Kya hua Robs?..tabiyat to thik hai"…and touches his forehead and neck…"Fever to nahi hain….uneasy feel kar rahe ho kya?".

Robbie just nods his head in disagreement. Kasturi now kneels down in front of him and asks……"Kya hua Robs…please kuch batao'.

Robbie gulps and says "Anita ….Anita"

Kasturi alarmed: "Kya hua Anita ko ……is she alrite?"

Robbie nods in agreement….."Woh Anita"

Kasturi: "Did she say something to you ….oh God Robbie tell me please!!!!".

Robbie shakes his head as though in disbelief….."Kash …..Kash I met Anita an hour ago……she is pregnant……."

Kasturi ….absolutely tensed, shock writ large on her face….."And……...aur kya Robbie"…Kasturi loudly asks…"Robbie batao aur kya". She gets up and shakes Robbie …"Robbie batao please aur kya!!!!!

Robbie: "Anita said ………she is pregnant because of me".

OMG.. what a heck? 😭 ..i hope she is facking man.. what is this natural twist 😆 ..prgnent with Robby's child 😕 ..i hope she is not ..i know this pregnensy because of that Maheshhh..arre ayways how come Robby was tensed after hearing news 😆 ..budhu kahi kaa..kuch nahi kiyaa tho kaika tension 😆 ..
