Part 40: Robbie stood stone cold behind Kasturi, not even sure he could say anything, without loosing it, so he shut down, there was no way he wanted to frighten kasturi anymore then she must be. Kasturi turned around with a heavy heart and dread with the pain she knew she would be seeing in robbie's face. She was actually shocked to see no emotion what so ever on his face, which scared her even more, for the calm before the storm was about to hit. Jay: Robbie, kasturi bathaa ne wali thi. Kasturi got up from her chair and reached towards robbie. Robbie jerked himself back as though kasturi had slapped him, when infact she had just wanted to reach for his hand. Jay tried again to say something to Robbie, but stopped mid sentence knowing Robbie was in mood that he had never seen him in before. Not even Barr's antics had ever made Robbie react like this. Jay for the first time was very worried about Robbie, what was he thinking?
Jay: ummm Robbie i think i'll catch a taxi back to the hotel. umm he looked at kasturi and said goodbye.
Robbie threw some money on the table to cover the bill, and picked up kasturi's bag and shawl and walked out knowing she had no choice but to follow.
Kasturi, was biting her lower lip, feel like crap, cause she really could never remember Robbie ever reacting like this before.
Robbie walked around in circles a couple of times. He would turn towards her and then turn right back around changing his mind.
Kasturi watched him walk down the garden path behind the hotel they were eating at and she followed him, worried about what he was thinking.
Robbie walked for a good 6 minutes, at a swift pace, forcing kasturi to jog to catch up to him, finally kasturi not able to bare the silent treatment he was giving her, grabbed his arm to stop him.
Robbie turned around and stared deeply into her eyes. Kasturi felt the power of his gaze, she felt like a deer caught in a car's headlights in the middle of the road ready to be road kill. Robbie looked like he was about to burst.
Robbie ran his hand through his hair and took a deep one very shaky breath and said: kasturi were you really going to leave me again?
kasturi was so saddened by the despair (hopelessness) she could hear in his, voice, his voice broke on the word "again" she turned away from him and put her hand on her mouth to stop her cry in her throat. kasturi tried to control her emotion, she had to try to make him understand. She turned back towards him but was surprised he wasnt there, she looked around and then noticed he was on his knees with his arms around himself, like he was in physical pain.
Kasturi bend down towards him and wrapped her arms around him tightly and kissed his neck. His body trembled like he was falling apart piece by piece.
Robbie tired to hide his deep body trembling from her, he was so use to hiding his feeling for soo long from the world, from kasturi, it was like a dam inside him was drowning him in his own fear of loosing her all over again. There was no way he was going to let her go without a fight, damn it this was his life at stake. He pulled kasturi back but held her soft hand in his not letting go, not knowing if he could let go of her hand even if he tried and he sighed and said: kasturi, kasturi I dont think you realize that i can not loose you again, and survive. For some people their day starts with the sun breaking the darkness, but for me my day starts when i see you. If your going to leave me, then this time your going to have to kill me first, i've lived without you already and its unbearable, i dont care to live like that again. Kasturi, I dont know what love is for women, how you girls feel love how you measure it, but i will tell you for man love doesnt happen easily, we dont like feeling vulnerable, or soft, men dont have a natural instinct to wear their heart's on their sleeves, but when a man does fall in love he takes his heart in his hand and literally gives it to the women that he loves, and when we do that, its our way of saying now you can break me, you can hurt me and i will bleed. So tonight you decide kasturi, i leave my fate in your loving hands. And he kissed her forhead.
Kasturi started to cry, and begged him robbie to understand that she couldnt put his life in danger, I'm not worthy of this undying love you have for me Robbie.
Robbie shook his head and said: Kasturi have you lost faith in me becuase i couldnt protect you that night in Europe, I know i failed you that night, i failed to protect you that night, but if you could trust me one last time and take my hand kasturi and dont let go, i swear this caller will have to go take my last breath out of my body before he could even touch one precious strand of you hair on your priceless head. I beg you give me my redeption . Tu meri chahaat hain tu hi meri zindagi hain kasturi,
Kasturi: Uus raat Europe mein,tum hi toi thi jissne meri jaan bachaai thi, aur aub tum chaatay hoi ke mein ussi aadmi koi maooth dey doon.Robbie mein tumhain muoth kasai de sakti hoon, meri zindagi ka har khubsoorat lamha tum se joori vi hain. God Robbie please let me deal with this my way.
Robbie: kasturi noone can hurt us if we're together, seperated, hell i'd even help the caller kill me.(and he laughed sarcastically)
Kasturi angered by him making a joke out of this said: fine, tum hain mazakha soojh raha hain, then fine, have it your way and stay with me and when the caller calls, i'll tell them that your willing to die, so please tell me where i can make the drop off.(she said this sarcastically of course)
Robbie just rolled his eyes.
Just then kasturi's cell phone rang robbie whispered pick it up.
kasturi's hand shaking presed the button
Caller's voice: Kasturiiii i can see you down there talking to lover boy, did you tell him its over yet?
Kasturi: Yes damn it i did, but he's not listening.
Caller: try harder kasturi, what is robbie's life worth to you?
Kasturi very angry yelled: Everything you bas..
Robbie grabbed the phone from kasturi and spoke very coldly into the phone saying: Come and get my you psychopathic prick...infact let me make it easier for you, how about you tell me where you are right now and i'll be there and we can settle it like men, or are you too big of a coward?
Caller: we'll see who the coward is when i'm standing over your dead body and kasturi is weeping at your feet. would you like to hear what i have planned for her?
Robbie feeling like he could crush the cell in his hand from the fear of hearing the caller threatening kasturi but swollowed his fear and said: Yeah we'll see who stand over whose dead body.. come and get me you know where i am. I'll be waiting, do you want me to send you an invitation?
Caller laughing crudely: no invitation necessary, i gave kasturi the option and its obvious she made her choose, now i think i'll turn the game plan, i'll hunt kasturi and snatch her right out from underneath you Robbie, stop me if you can. ready for a little cat and mouse game?
robbie: Give it your best...but remember at the end, i promise i'll cut your hear out with a spoon.
Caller: why a spoon robbie?
Robbie: cause its blunt and more painful then you can possibly imagine. sleep on that your bas.....
robbie hung up and threw her phone as far as possible.
Kasturi just stood there shaking from fear, but not for herself but for Robbie. If anything happened to him she'd die anyway. Impossible situation. Robbie just wrapped her shawl around her and lead her back to his car.
