Any actor who forgets to put his/her cellphone on silent mode on Ekta Kapoor's sets are in trouble now. They have to pay a fine of Rs 500

Ekta Kapoor has finally stumbled upon the perfect mantra to keep her sets free of shor-sharaba. Cellphones are a nuisance during shooting and from now on, anyone whose phone rings on the sets will be fined Rs 500.

The sets of Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi were the most chaotic. A large cast meant an equally large number of cellphones. "Every day, new actors join Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi. And their cellphones keep ringing endlessly. It's most irritating when actors are in the middle of a scene. When requests failed to work, a fine had to be implemented. And believe me, it has produced results," says a source.

A unit member says, "Scenes have to be re-shot often thanks to loud, annoying ringtones. It is quite frustrating as a lot of effort goes waste. Actors prepare hard for scenes, and ringtones just spoil it for them."

Thanks to the new rule, silence has been restored on the sets. The fine money is used to get sweets for everybody on the sets. That way, everyone stays happy.

Actor Hiten Tejwani says, "I guess, it's a great arrangement to maintain silence on the sets. Like any other workplace, we should also abide by rules without creating trouble for others. Shooting has become less troublesome now. I am also working in Kasautii Zindagi Kay where the same rule goes too. And this has put crew members and actors in their place. As an actor, I am quite happy."

Hiten tells us that some actors have already been penalised. "No, I have not been penalised yet. Tasneem Sheikh and a few newcomers have been fined."

Although Reshmi Ghosh has been penalised twice, she thinks that the rule is great.

She says, "Everyone is very careful these days. As soon as people arrive on the sets, they put their phones on silent mode. I remember, after coming to work I forgot to put my phone on silent mode. I was penalised twice. I have been very careful ever since."

Right now, the rule is on for only for Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi bahu Thi and Kasautii Zindagi Kay but soon it will be implemented on other K-sets too.

Earlier the director of Kasturi had fined d cast of d show 4 using offensive language on sets & now fine 4 those whose cell rings. Its true when u r in middle of a scene & d cell rings its is irritating.
