othewise some time in the serial when suspense is revealed are not so effetive

Recap: Robbie decides to tell Devika about his relationship with Kasturi, Devika accepts Kasturi as her daughter in law. She finally reveals the past to Robbie and Kasturi, she tells them that Shivani is Puru and Puru's girlfriends daughter. RoKa are clearly shocked by the secret kept from the whole family for all these years, Robbie lets out all his sorrows in Kasturis arms.

Part 14: Surprises all around

A month later

Robbie remains quiet after finding out the truth about the past, he decides to give Devika all the happiness that she has dreamt of and deserves. It is best to move on in life and live for the future which is why Robbie has decided to focus on his relationship with Kasturi.

Back in the office Kasturi and Amar have been working together as professionals and avoiding all their personal issues. Kasturi has noticed Amar seem a lot quiet than normal, he only says the bare minimum to Kasturi and just gets on with his work. She decides to leave it like that, it is probably for the best, although she is sad to lose a friend like him.

Robbie: Hey Jannu, what are you doing?

Kasturi: not much I was just reading a book

Robbie: liar, you were waiting for my call, I know you were 😛

Kasturi: No I wasn't''..

Kasturi said laughing, Robbie always managed to catch her out lying, she was waiting for his call

Robbie: okay I just called to say I have planned a day out for us tomorrow

Kasturi: where are we going?

Robbie: it's a surprise

Kasturi: oh you know I don't like surprises, tell me please

Robbie: nope your going to have to wait'..I promise your going to love it

Kasturi: sounds nice'.cant wait now, by the way why tomorrow is it a special day or something?

Robbie: no it is nothing like that, I don't need a particular reason to take you out do I? anyway I will give you a surprise, what do I get in return?

Kasturi: hmmmm I knew there was more to it, what do you want?

Robbie: il leave you to think about that''lets see how well you know me 😛

Kasturi: Robbie''..

Robbie: okay jaanu goodnight, il see you tomorrow, oh don't forget to wear one of your best suits, it will be a day to remember

Kasturi: okay goodnight'..love you

Robbie: I love you too

They both hang up smiling coyly at themselves, Kasturi loved Robbie's sweet and naughty side, Robbie loved teasing Kasturi. They both can talk to each other for hours on the phone and still miss each other after hanging up. They had built a solid relationship, both understanding and getting to know each other as the days went on. Living apart was starting to get hard.

Robbie waited for Kasturi by the bend before her house, he could see Kasturi walking towards his car from his rear view mirror. As Kasturi walked closer Robbie's eyes and mouth widened, she was looking absolutely stunning in a soft pink anarkali churidar dress, her hair was swaying with the light wind, she let out a wide smile as she approached Robbie. Robbie took in a deep breath and looked at his perfect choice. Kasturi got in the car and noticed Robbie starring at her

Kasturi: Robbie what's wrong, are you planning to sit in your car the whole day?

Robbie shook his head and said in a shy tone: you look beautiful

Kasturi blushed and let out a soft laugh: okay come on lets go I am dying to find out what the surprise is.

Robbie started the car and they made their way up the high road. After a while they were still driving, Kasturi looked at Robbie and said: Where are we going, at least tell me now what the surprise is

Robbie: patience jaanu we are nearly there

Robbie drove for a bit longer and finally parked the car by a large white building. He got out and walked over to open Kasturis side of the door. Kasturi stepped out and looked around trying to figure out where Robbie had brought her.

Robbie: come inside you will soon find out where we are

Kasturi walked up to the door with Robbie holding her hand, she read the sign on the entrance that read 'Angels orphanage'. Kasturi immediately realised Robbie had brought her to the orphanage where he visits and donates money to. She held Robbie's arm and stopped him in his tracks, Robbie looked at Kasturi and said: what's up?

Kasturi just smiled at Robbie and expressed her appreciation through her eyes. Robbie realised she was thanking him for bringing her here, he squeezed her hand and whispered softly: I never break my promises; he winked at her and carried on walking.

They reached up to the front desk where the head of the orphanage was waiting for them. Kasturi watched as Robbie wished the lady, he turned and gestured towards Kasturi with his hand he was about to say something when the lady stopped him and said: wait let me guess who she is

The lady walked up to Kasturi and looked at her with a big smile on her face and said: this must be the lucky girl in your life, am I right Robbie?

Robbie and Kasturi both blushed; Robbie let out a laugh and said: your right. This is Kasturi and Kasturi this is Sunitaji. By the way how did you guess right?

Sunitaji: Robbie I have known you for a while now, one look and I guessed she is the girl that has taught you to fall in love. I am so happy you have brought her here today, the kids have been waiting for you since morning.

The three of them walked into the large hall, their was a slight sound of shrieking and excitement as the kids saw Robbie enter. They all ran up to him and grabbed him by his legs, Robbie bent down and kissed all of them one by one. Kasturi watched with equal excitement on her face, everyone was so happy in the room, especially Robbie.

Sunitaji calmed the kids down and sat them in a circle on the floor.

Sunitaji: kids I know you all are very excited to see Robbie, but we have another special visitor here with us today. She brought Kasturi to stand at the front next to her and said: This is Kasturi

Kasturi waved at the kids and let out a big smile, Robbie watched blissfully as the kids waved back. Sunitaji noticed one of kids wasn't waving; she gestured towards Robbie who noticed too. Robbie called out to the little girl and said: Kya huwa Muskaan, are you not happy to see me?

Everyone looked at Muskaan as she got up and walked over to Robbie.

Muskaan: I am not talking to you today

Robbie bent down and asked: why not?

Muskaan: you always come to visit us on your own, you always tell me that there is no other girl in your life apart from me, so who is this new girl with you today?

All the staff including Kasturi let out a slight laugh, Robbie held Muskaan's little face and said: your right to be angry with me, I should have told you about Kasturi. She is my friend, she wanted to meet you so I brought her here today.

Muskaan: just a friend or is she your girlfriend?

The adults in the room were slightly shocked by this comment, Kasturi covered her mouth trying hard not to laugh, Robbie blushed and said: yes she is my girlfriend, only after you. He poked Muskaan's little nose and winked at her.

Muskaan made a little angry face and walked off not looking at Kasturi. RoKa looked at each other and smiled. The rest of the kids went back to play and the staff carried on with their work, Kasturi walked up to Robbie and said teasingly: you never told me you already had a girlfriend, and that too a 5 year old. Robbie laughed and said: come one lets go and clear this out with Muskaan.

RoKa spent a few hours playing with the children, Kasturi managed to make friends with Muskaan on the condition that Muskaan gets to sit on Robbie's lap during story time and not Kasturi 😆. Kasturi helped prepare for lunch and both RoKa ate with the kids. Sunitaji gathered everyone around in a circle again and said: okay kids are you ready to show your surprise to Robbie now?

The kids cheered as Sunitaji turned out the lights, one of the staff carried a large cake out the kitchen with loads of candles on the top. The kids sang out a loud in their best voices and wished Robbie a very Happy Birthday.

Robbie was absolutely ecstatic and delighted by the surprise: thank you so much everyone. He was about to blow out the candles when Sunitaji stopped him and said: wait Robbie, don't forget to make a wish

Robbie closed his eyes and silently made a wish, he opened his eyes and pulled Kasturi to come closer and help cut the cake, Kasturi pulled Muskaan up with her and the three of them cut the cake as everyone clapped.

Like always Robbie brought presents for everyone and handed them out, Kasturi watched from a distance as all the kids opened their gifts with excitement, their little faces lit up as they held their new toys in their hands. Kasturi could see Robbie glowing with happiness from within, she understood now why Robbie comes here on his birthday, the satisfaction on bringing a smile to a child's face is priceless and greater than any gift anyone can give. Robbie walked up to Kasturi and said: so are you not going to wish me today?

Before Kasturi could reply, Muskaan came and tugged at Robbie's hand. Robbie bent down and looked at her

Muskaan: I have a gift for you today.

She reached up and put her little arms around Robbie's neck pulling him closer, she tip toed and kissed Robbie on his cheek before running off giggling.

Robbie looked at Kasturi with a deep smile on his face: see I like my little girlfriend better than you, she knows what type of gifts I like he said with a twinkle in his eyes, 😉 Kasturi laughed and walked off. After playing spending some more time with the kids RoKa decided to leave, they said their goodbyes and headed back to the car.

They were about to drive off when Kasturi said: Thank you Robbie for bringing me here and making me a part of your happiness. I know this is a special part of your life, something you do on your own for your own satisfaction, I cant explain to you how happy I feel right now, I have never experienced something like this before.

Robbie: Kasturi before you came into my life I had nothing or nobody that I felt an attachment to apart from this place and the kids here, you are in my life now and mean everything to me you have full right to be a part of everything in my life.

RoKa both gave each other an emotional look, Robbie turned his face ready to drive off when Kasturi held his arm and stopped him again. He turned to look at her, Kasturi held the side of Robbie's face in her hand looked deep into his eyes and said 'Happy Birthday'. Robbie smiled as Kasturi leaned forward and gave him a deep long kiss on his lips. Robbie let out his dimple smile and whispered in her ear: you know me too well. 😉

As Robbie started driving Kasturi noticed they were driving the opposite way to home.

Kasturi: where are we going Robbie?

Robbie: the surprise I have for you isn't over yet Kasturi

Kasturi sat in the car wondering what else Robbie had planned for his birthday. It was evening by now the sun had started to set in the sky, Robbie parked up by a grand restaurant.

RoKa got out the car and walked up to the large opening doors, Kasturi waited as Robbie spoke to one of the waiters, the waiter than took RoKa through the restaurant and into the large private ground at the back, they walked past the round pool in the middle and entered inside a white marquee with baby pink drapes and lights decorated around, there was a round table for two at one side with candles and fresh red roses decorated around. Robbie led Kasturi inside, the waiter sat them down on the table and left. Kasturi looked around mesmerized at the arrangements. She looked at Robbie who was staring at her.

Kasturi: Robbie did you do all this?

Robbie: do you like it? I tried doing everything to your taste.

He picked up a single red rose and gave it to Kasturi saying: I even brought your favourite flower.

Kasturi took the rose from Robbie's hand and looked at him with tears in her eyes, she was so touched by his gesture, Robbie is a true gentleman, a dream come true for her. Robbie noticed as Kasturi almost let a tear drop from her eyes, Robbie quickly reached out and stopped the tear from dropping, he nodded his head saying no and said: no Kasturi no tears today, no tears in our lives from now on. Its my first birthday with you and I want to make it a memorable one.

Kasturis face lit up glowing even more in the candle light, she put her hand in Robbie's and they both made their way to the centre. The lights slightly dimmed as Robbie gestured the waiter to play the music and leave. Robbie put his hand around Kasturis waist and held her other hand in his as the music started to play:

They swayed and danced to the music, Robbie twirled Kasturi around and watched the happiness on her face, this is the first time RoKa danced together, they were totally lost in each other that they failed to notice when the music ended. Kasturi held her arms around Robbie's neck and Robbie had his hands around her waist, their bodies up against each other both looking into each others eyes and slowly moving as if they are dancing to the rhythm of their heartbeats. After a while they both realised the music had stopped they smiled coyly and walked back to the table.

Kasturi picked up her purse and took out a wrapped up box. She held it out and said: did you think I don't know it is your birthday today?

Robbie's face lit up as he took the box from her and started opening it.

Kasturi: I knew it was your birthday today but played along with you at the orphanage, I brought this gift last week, hope you like it.

Robbie opened the box and took out the sparkling silver necklace, he held it in his hand and looked at the lettered pendant hanging from the chain; 'RoKa'. Robbie looked at Kasturi and said: what do these letters mean?

Kasturi took the necklace from his hand and while putting it around his neck she said: the letters mean Robbie and Kasturi, the first two letters from our names put together, I want you to wear the necklace and keep it close to your heart, exactly where I am.

Robbie held Kasturi in his arms and said: I will keep you and this necklace forever in my heart, they hugged each other tight as Robbie said: Kasturi there is something else that I want from you on my birthday. Kasturi looked at Robbie and said: what do you want?

Robbie separated Kasturi from him and held her hands, he took a deep breath and said looking into her eyes: Kasturi a while ago I was living a life only for myself, my work meant everything to me and nothing else mattered. Then you came along and changed my whole prospect on life, my life is beautiful which ever way I look at it now because you have taught me the meaning of love, you taught me to fall in love, you have taught me the real reason of living. I never felt for anyone like this before, I never even thought I would say this to anyone. I have never been this happy or ever felt this content like I do when I am with you. I wake up in the morning and you're the first person I want to talk to, I go to bed while talking to you. I long to hold you in my arms like the way I long to feel your lips, I know when my heart beats it whispers your name. I and my life have changed ever since I met you and now Kasturi I can't imagine a single moment with out you in my life because you make me feel complete. Kasturi today, on my birthday I want to ask something of you;

Saying this Robbie bent down on his knee, held Kasturi's left hand and said: Kasturi I don't only want you but I need you in my life. Will you support me in living the rest of my life? Will you marry me Kasturi?

Kasturi looked on at Robbie unable to control tears of happiness flowing from her eyes, she kneeled down in front of him and said: you're the prince charming that I have always dreamt about, I too cant imagine my life with out, yes I will marry you.

Absolutely ecstatic with happiness, Robbie took out a ring from his jacket pocket and placed it into Kasturis finger. A perfect fit just like them. Robbie wiped Kasturis tears as Kasturi hugged Robbie tight, as if trying to grab and feel this special moment.

The night was beautiful with a full moon and stars shining bright, RoKa walked by the river hand in hand, Kasturi stopped by the side of the bridge and looked up at the sky, she folded her hands and said a little prayer, Robbie watched Kasturi then asked her: What are you doing?

Kasturi: I made a wish to god to keep us together forever and to give us the strength to face all problems in life together.

Kasturi held Robbie's hand and said: I have always dreamt about this moment, the moment I decide I want to spend the rest of my life with someone and the moment someone wants me to be a part of their life. I have always wondered what my life partner will be like, I never thought I would meet the guy in my dreams, you are much more than I ever imagined Robbie.

Robbie took Kasturi in his arms and said: I love you jannu

Kasturi: I love you too

They kissed under the night stars along with the sparkling effects of fireworks coming from a party across the other side, they kissed and celebrated their engagement. As they walked back to the car Robbie said: the only thing left to do now is talk to your parents, I cant wait Kasturi I want to get married as soon as we can. Robbie carried on talking then realised Kasturi looked slightly tensed

Robbie: what's wrong Kasturi what are you thinking about?

Kasturi: Robbie I am worried about my family, what if they don't agree to our wedding?

yes Robbie was late in understanding his feelings but now that its out he cant stop himself from expressing it
