BECHARA HAIN ??? SHAATIR NAHIN !!!

I am Mili, just saw a random episode 2 days ago. I never watched this show barring a few episodes last year. I think some of you remember me from before. I didn't watch despite sympathizing with Anurag because, I am leery of this producer who has burnt me very badly with another show. Also, of course, COVID turned everything upside down, didn't let me sit down and have a moment of peace thereafter. To find an escape from what I have to deal with everyday, I started logging onto the forum with morning coffee for the past month, before starting work. I therefore, know generally what happened, although not the specifics. So, please don't hold me on the details.

The episode in question is about 2 days ago, Bajaj screaming at the top of his lungs at his daughter. I am only going to talk about that incident as it disturbed me immensely 😡Now a disclaimer. I am repulsed by this character, so this is a rambling rant. Whoever has warm, fuzzies about Bajaj, zaraa sambhalke😃 You have been warned😳

So Bajaj guy is accusing his teenage daughter of being a spitting image of her mother who married behind his backWasn't this guy's rhetoric or USP or whatever you want to call is that he is omnipresent and a know-it-all? He will only disclose what he wants, to other people and nobody will know a word more, or a word less unless he wishes to? May be his wife also had the same USP, only her's is not rhetoric but REAL🤣🤣 Now, he didn't know what his wife was doing behind his back and therefore, he is the victim🤣I don't know about you guys, but I had a wholesome laugh🤣😃hearing this.

So, let us see :

He told us before that his dad abused him, so he became this big, bad guy who preyed on weak people

His daughter fancied a random woman, so he blackmailed her to marry him, even though she is betrothed, very much in love and is pregnant with another man's child.

Now, his wife ditched him unceremoniously, and so he is a sad, victim who has trust issues? And that he should be sympathized, pacified and understood for terrorizing his teenage daughter? 😡Yeh kaisa father hain?

So, if everything about him and his actions/behavior are a consequence of bad, ugly things that other people did to him in his past, then what is his TRUE USP ? Is he a shaatir ? Or is he a bechara? He can't claim credit for both🐷 Or can he?

Why is he behaving like that with his daughter? Because, she reminds him of his wife and her betrayal?😲 If he is a bechara for losing his wife, marriage and trust, what about his daughter? If he needs to be sympathized and understood for his loss, what about his daughter? Didn't his daughter lose her mother when she was sooo young ? If he is a bechara who had no family , what about his daughter? Didn't she also have no family ? No mother and an indifferent father who barely communicated with her and is abusive when he did?👎🏼

I couldn't believe this middle aged guy stating that " look, she is stammering".😡 Shame on him to bring that upon that young girl. Shame on the writers to write such lines.😡👎🏼 What is their intention? We should empathize with the guy or get raving mad at the guy? I got enraged😡

Instead of talking nonsense to Prerna and lecturing about self-respect, self- esteem and strength, zaraa apne beti ko dekh leta? How about practically helping his daughter build that self esteem, strength and self respect or whatever rhetorical nonsense he is spewing out😡👎🏼? A dad throwing harsh accusations of his daughter philandering, destroys whatever confidence, self esteem that young girl ever had. 😡 The harrowing verbal abuse from a father with no freedom or liberty to confide in and debate about her choices or decisions, decimates her confidence, her self esteem and self worth💔 The arrogance and indifference he is maintaining with his only child, drives her right into some nefarious guy's trap in real life, if only she is shown a pretense of care by some unscrupulous guy.😡

BTW, yeh Kolkota and Western Society mein reh kar aaya haina? So, since when is sharing a ride or talking to a friend/ classmate or even going out for coffee a sin? Or is it because that scenario reminds him of his own past i.e : what if a guy just like a shaatir ( or is it bechara ) Bajaj would trap the girl and blackmail her and then turn around to call it a fair deal🤢?

I was repulsed by this character during the Prerna blackmail phase and now continue to be revolted by this repugnant father👎🏼

OK, my gripes off my chest😃 I will go along with my work like a shaant atmaI will return when I find time.

I haven’t watched the episodes but going by the WU, he is coming across as one man child. This one word is enough to describe him . ...couldn’t analyse or take him seriously after the leap even after trying . He has been reduced to a meme 😆

As for Bajaj. No words. He continues to be repulsive. On top of being a narcissistic, self pitying whiner.

Bravo girl....for speaking out the truth in loud and clear words.how bjaj behaved with kuki and his approach towards her makes him the terrible person in my eyes.

Coming back to present, thank you for this thread. Nothing to add to what you have already written.. Saatir hai ya bechara?? It is not as complicated as it is confusing...

But allow me to put my views on the same premise the thread subjects on.

In the last track, Bajaj loved his daughter more than anything, the only redeeming factor about the character in that track.. That means during that phase he did not know that his wife had already married someone else behind his back..

In this very phase, not only does he stalk a woman who was not only in love with another man but also wearing the sindoor of his name, not to mention, very much pregnant with his child. He randomly decides that this woman, out of all the females of the world, is going to be his daughter's nanny. All the connivance and manipulation follows making the female buckle under the blackmail. Mind you, he doesn't still know that his ex-wife is playing home with someone else behind his back...

Fast forward almost a decade ahead and he ceases to be that loving dad to his daughter. Reason-- he gets to know about the biggest betrayal from his ex-wife.

WOW, I mean what the f**k is that even??

He can go and marry any woman he wants under duress and blackmail and all the hell breaks loose when his ex-wife marries someone else??

If his ex wife had married someone else behind his back, hadn't he done the same to her as well?

How is his ex-wife any worse and he a victim??

Bechara -- No comments!!

Shaatir -- Only when it comes to gullible ones!!

HYPOCRITE ???? Undoubtedly!!

Sad that his affection for his daughter was dependent on whether or not his ex-wife had moved on!!

It has been almost 1yr, we have been missing your posts/PMs, especially our discussions on how our life experiences do influence our thought processes. Though the show is about to end, hope to hear from you more in the next 2weeks.

Nah ! I didn't take my previous debacle personally. But, I did intentionally stay away from the show for fear of this producer who plays your mind. I didn't really have the band width at the time to deal with the emotional roller coaster with too many things going on. And then, COVID hit and nothing is ever the same

@Charu, good to see you again🤗. I hope you are well. I understand all characters will do stupid things. So, I am not even looking at their actions anymore. I also now understand that I can't apply real world logic to the shows. My monkey brain goes back and does that from time to time.

But, here is my problem, my friend. As long as I can put myself in the character's shoes and look at their actions and if I can twist myself to see their point, I am at peace👍🏼I will let that character go without too much of criticism. Believe it or not It doesn't mean I am in agreement or condone what all they have done. All I am saying is, I see their point.

As far as Anurag goes, the actor got my buy in. I can see his point. Again, doesn't mean I am endorsing what he has done. In his stupid drama world, I understand why he did, what he did. The actor is relatable and made me understand his point of view. Therefore, I can sympathize with him.😒

For Prerna, I simply feel bad for her character when I think and dwell about her. When I look at Prerna on the screen, that girl doesn't evoke much of anything in me. Either because of the way the writers, director or the actor are portraying her on the screen🤔. But, my good old brain always reminds me that here is a young girl who has suffered a lot and is still going through a lot. She is being played very badly by both the guys. One is withholding his love and affection for her and the other doing a disservice to her and holding her hostage by hiding behind the mask of whatever..... FYI, I cringe to say the word ' mentor' for character Bajaj which is so demeaning to the word itself🤢.

Bajaj only evokes disgust. I don't understand the essence of Bajaj. The rhetoric that he is supposed to be an elusive, enigma who is omnipotent, who has these supposedly supernatural powers whereby he can only disclose what he wants to people, not a word more, not a word less isn't helping his case with me😡. When I try to come to peace with this rhetoric, he tries to get sympathy by saying my dad has been bad to me as a child, my wife is doing things behind my back and so I will mistreat people. My daughter has to suffer my wrath because of my sob story ridden past, just doesn't sit well with me. I simply don't see his point.

At some point, people need to take responsibility for their actions, don't they? How long are we going to blame our parents, our circumstances for all that we do? We don't have control on any of those, but what about control of our actions? I completely reject this narrative, that Bajaj is a wounded soul and so everybody has to suffer his misery and wrath😡 Is it OK if his daughter turns out like him, a conniving, scheming human being when she grows up? After all, she also doesn't have a great childhood. The only parent she had was abusive😡

Anyway, I am sorry folks, I sat down to write something and as usual went some whereelse.

Wait, you are confusing me here. Do you mean he blackmailed and forced Prerna while still being married to his wife? Or is it that you are hypothesizing this, by his behavior towards his daughter, then and now?

Let us just say that he hasn't done anything illegal ( polygamy ) and both of his marriages are sequential. If he was bitten once by his wife , why did he zero in on Prerna who already has a ready made set up ( fiancé and a child on the way )? Why did this shaatir aadmi turn so stupid that he set himself up for failure😎? If he couldn't tie his wife with his irresistible charm🤔, who also has a biological child with him, then, how the hell did he think that he could tie a 22 yr old who is in love with an incredible fiancé, who is on her wavelength, about to get married and their child on the way ? Is he just being arrogant, passive aggressive or masochistic?I am thoroughly confused. BTW, why didn't he go after his wife and her lover and destroy them, blackmail her to stay in the marriage? Aakhir his daughter's vitals would have responded even better with her biological mother, haina? 🤓I mean you can't pitch yourself against Usain Bolt and cry foul when you get decimated in a 400 meter dash, can you? I know, I know, this is a half baked analogy,😳 but this is what comes to mind at the moment.
