I have had this question on my mind for a very long time. When talking of kasautii zindagi Kay, 4 characters automatically come to mind: anupre, Komo and Bajaj. So it's a given that these 4 characters would make a comeback in the reboot and would have roles that would do justice to these larger than life characters left behind by their predecessors.

Why then has it happened, that while 3 of the characters have done justice to their roles, some of them going above and beyond, only Bajaj has failed, and failed so spectacularly??

Why has he not been given any ROLE.? No character or story arc whatsoever. After his entry arc wherein he blackmails prerna into a marriage, he has not been a part of the story in anyway. Not driving the story forward in anyway. He has no existence, no purpose outside of Prerna and being her support system. He has had hardly any scenes with any other character.

Foe a show with shoddy writing since day 1, the one thing these makers have got right is lesser characters with better roles compared to the original. Characters like mohini and nivedita have had a much longer and central role. Anupam is a prime example of a much better written role. His equation with Anurag was one of the highlights of the show. Veena again was a revelation, especially in the way she supported her daughter in the Komo 1 track. Naveen Babu and ronit were revelations. All characters were eventually subject to the same shoddy writing but it cannot be denied that they were all better fleshed out characters especially in the first year. So what has made Bajaj stand out as the exception. What has made him have lesser ss and an even lesser impact than all the other supporting characters like Shivani and Anupam. Ultimately it might have all come down to the audience acceptance which decided this character but all in all, he has ended up being the most forgettable and unnecessary character of kzk2.

All is not lost though. I'm still waiting for this character to do something before the last episode that justifies his existence in the show. 🙄

I as a viewer of the first 200 episodes felt the deep love connection between AnuPre. I understand that you did not feel the same and that is okay.

But in NB track, I saw how Anurag stood by Prerna and protected her. I saw how Prerna felt comfortable only with Anurag, how she could not stop smiling when she was with him. I saw how Anurag grew from a studious simple man to a man who felt too deeply. He even had his first dance with her. For the first time he did what he felt was right even if his mother did not approve of it. Not once did he disrespect Prerna for the decision she made. Even when he did not know her much, he never suspected her to be a gold digger even though his mom and sister told him so. Even Prerna was totally herself when she was with him, for example that paan scene. She felt very comfortable sharing her problems with him and asking for his help. The only reason she could not tell him about NB and the loan money is due to Mohini's involvement but she was tempted to tell him. So yes, I felt their connection grow from acquaintances to almost friends, to friends, to best friends, to lovers in NB track.

During Komo1 track, it was Prerna who helped expose Komo and deep down did not give up on their love. It was Anurag who had blind faith in Prerna and defended her when the live video showed Prerna hugging Vikrant. I can probably write two more paragraphs about Komo1 track when they were there for each other when it mattered most. To me this did not look like shallow untrustworthy love. In RB track, Prerna needed Anurag, he stood by her. In Komo1 track, Anurag needed Prerna even though he never mentioned it, and she stood by him.

I shall ignore the pregnancy topic as cvs ignored it too. If I go in the logic of the story, I might find the secret of the universe but never the logic in this story. 😂.

I have not watched the episodes after Anurag got arrested so I cannot comment on the story after that.

But in the first 200 episodes, as a viewer, I definitely felt their soul deep love connection. It is a different matter that it was not always portrayed properly and as usual, some of the scenes were over dramtizied.

Hope, the main reason in my opinion is keeping Buddha as Prerna's confidante and Anurag's Dushman, and not Prerna's Dushman.

During the first track of Bajaj, it started well with him blackmailing Prerna to marry him so that she can save Anurag. But, later they started buttering with Kuki as the bait. They finally ended the track again with mutiple attempt to murders by him. Instead, if they had worked upon showing him as a negative character upfront to the audience like Komolika, and if they had retained the sassy Prerna giving it back to buddha and showing him the place he actually deserves, it would have worked wonders with the audience and the character would have atleast served some purpose in the show.

People were looking forward to the lovers anurag and prerna reuniting against the odds of betrayal, revenge and retribution, not to see how Prerna moves on with mentorship turning into love story😆

Atleast with the second track, they could have shown him partner with Komolika, the iconic Vamp, but the repercussions of giving him a purpose was so much that probably they didn't find him worthy enough for a purpose.

To sum up, Mr.Bajaj served no purpose in the show with respect to the story, but the decision of the makers to retain the character for sure caused them sleepless nights. 😳

I watched KZK recently on hotstar till about episode 200 when Anurag went to prison. And that too not full episodes as I can only take so much drama. Ater that whatever little I read, it seemed the show went downhill from there so I have not watched any episode after that.

What I do not understand is why cvs decided to even consider Bajaj-Prerna marriage track this season? They spent 200 episodes establishing strong AnuPre bond, mental as well as spiritual bond. The only thing that would stop him from being with Pre is if their togetherness caused a threat to Pre's life. Their love was never shown as puppy love, only skin deep that any third person could come destroy what they felt for each other. They were each other's person even if they were not together. They could never emotionally distance themseleves from each other. Even with illogical story line, nonstop drama, one thing was clear to me in first 200 episodes and that is when AnuPre were together, happiness shown from their eyes. Their eyes constantly looked for each other in a room full of people. They only thought about each other. They could go from fighting to romance to understanding in a blink of an eye. Like Anu said in the episode afer AnuKomo honeymoon ended and AnuPre were getting back home in the car that just being around her gave him peace even if they were not together. Anu married Komo but due to his convos with Anupam and showing his thought process, it was very clear how much he hated hurting Pre and how much he wanted to get rid of Komo. There was no emotional distance from his side toward Pre just because he married Komo. Yes there were a million things wrong with Komo1 track, but still the underlying feelings could be seen on both sides. After Komo track ended, Prerna even told him that her mind may have thought that Anu was bad but her feelings never changed, deep down she could never convince herself of that. So after creating such a strong bond between them, how did cvs even think that the audience would accept Pre-Bajaj as a couple? They should have stuck with AnuPre as end game and made a story around it. I know Pre-Bajaj from first KZK had a strong bond and Pre was happy with Bajaj, but they did not have to repeat that in this KZK season cause it would never make sense, at least not to me after watching first 200 episodes and the whole build up of AnuPre bond.

I understand Bajaj as a character was important to introduce. They could have shown Prerna working for Bajaj, seeing that he is not pure evil as Anurag claims, causing problems between AnuPre, business issues between 2 companies, etc. The marriage part was not needed or Pre bonding with Bajaj and thus loosing connection with Anurag or ping-ponging from Bajaj to Anurag. Bajaj could have blackmailed Pre to work for him instead of blackmailing her to marry him.The emotional connection between AnuPre should have always remained intact no matter the kasautis they faced.

Great post! They forced Bajaj into the storyline because somehow he had to be there as per season 1 . Nothing was developed to justify why he had to do what he did this time . I don’t understand why Ekta even thought that he would be accepted. When she introduced the character in season 1, the audience had no idea that he and Prerna would become a couple . Whatever happened between the pair happened organically . This season he was straightaway introduced as the alternate pair with the FL. Pray tell me why the viewers will root for a character that is supposed to break the main couple of the show? No matter how much ever AnuPre are dissed here , the neutral tv viewers watch this show to see what’s going to happen next in their lives . They don’t watch it to see the villains or side characters . It is the story around the leads that interests them.

This ! I was so waiting to see how Prerna will fight her blackmailer after the blackmail shaadi. I thought she will teach him a lesson but instead was shown to resign to her fate.She accepted the marriage as if it was very normal to get blackmailed. This is where the show went completely wrong.
