"And you wear your broken pieces Beautifully...."
Komolika huffed umpteenth time, she was swinging like a pendulum in her room thinking about how to get Ronit back and how to kick Prerna out of their lives.
âWhy canât you just stay put Prerna, how many times do we have to play this gameâŠâ
She was tired, too much to wish for a normal life, not like she has one but whatâs wrong in wishing and striving for one. She just got some hold over Anurag, they just subtly started having near to normal conversations, discussing Diyaâs schedule, her future, he still calls her a mistake but his actions and gestures towards her suggest otherwise.
âAnd the car of their lives started to run with the tortoise-like speed towards normalcy and Boom! Here she comes backâŠ.â Komolika huffed again âDamn her and Damn that Bajajâ and stomped her foot on the floor
âWhat did the poor floor do?â chimed Anurag who just entered the room.
âI actually want to stomp over some peopleâs head but I donât have the liberty to do that now do I?â she grits out smiling way too sweetly at him by the end.
Anurag shakes his head while making his way to the cupboard when he heard her âYou went to get the land convert from commercial to residential, what happened?â
Anurag lets out an exasperated sigh and closes the cupboard to come face to face with her and clicked his tongue âThey didnât convert itâŠâ
Komolika frowned âWhat do you mean by they didnât convert it?â
âThe KB group also got to them and applied for their land to get converted from residential to commercial and now the panel of industrialists will decide how they want to ProceedâŠâ he replies yawning.
Komolika squints her eyes at him âAnd you left it, just like that do you realize Anurag if he didnât have the upper hand we are going to lose Basu Group of industries and publications to PrernaâŠâ she balls her fists tightly, she was near to pull either her or his hair whichever she could reach earlier.
Anurag shrugs âAs if I donât know thatâŠ. âthen yawns again âAnd seriously I donât seem to care about anything right nowâŠâ he turns away to get to his side of the bed.
âYou really donât care about anything Anurag, do you?â He heard her say but didnât turn, he had never heard this dejected voice of hers, it didnât feel like hers.
âThat isnât just yours to give away, it's your dadâs and Niveditaâs and my hard work too, you canât throw away everything on the name of love that doesnât even exist nowâŠâShe shakes her head staring at his back âYou are going to disregard everything on the name of love, what love, the love you are holding onto while she has moved on with the BajajâŠâ
That sentence felt like a whip on his back he turned around and held Komolika by her shoulder and dragged her to near to him âShe hasnât moved on⊠â his eyes blazing fury, his fingers digging into her shoulders.
Komolika chuckled dryly and replies with equal fervor âOh, yeah Anurag havenât you seen her with her husband these days, the husband who is potentially going around threatening every person who has the means to destroy her peace and you are telling me she doesnât love him, you still have hope, AnuragâŠâ
Anurag pushes her back gallingly but she grabs his collar and snaps âYou think she would come running back into your arms when youâll tell her the truthâŠâ he tries to free himself from her clutches, his face stoic but she tightens her grip âYou appreciated her love, you have a respect for your love but have you ever for once thought about my love AnuragâŠâ
His struggles stop as he gazes at her face which wasnât raving with fury anymore â I loved you, you thought I didnât try to fall out of love, I did and it didnât work, In life, I have got everything I put my hands on, but you werenât the thing you were a person and to have you to love me I stoop down to levels I never imagined myself to go toâŠâ
Her voice started to get soggier, her grab turned from furious to complaining one âwhat would have gone wrong if you for once appreciated my love, what would have gone wrong if you for once have thought about giving my love a chance like you gave PrernaâsâŠâ
Anurag was stunned, never once he has seen Komolikaâs despair, it was a rare sight, she was fiery, vehement, egoistic, toxic but never mourning.
She puts her head on his chest and laments âI became as worse as I could be for you and it didnât work, I tried to become good, I helped your dad, your business and tried to become a nice mother to Diya but you didnât give a damnâŠâ She picks her head up to look him in the eye âYou think I donât know there is a picture of you and Prerna just on the backside of the frame, I always knew but I never said anything because I was ready to wait for you for eight years I endured every insult of yours because I was ready to wait as long as it takes for you to love meâŠ.â
The furious eyes returns as she grits her teeth and jerks him back âAnd you Anurag have the nerve to call our daughter a mistake⊠this is why I donât ever get weak, you start being nice to people and theyâll stomp over you like you are some freaking carpetâŠâ She combs her locks back in desperation and points a finger at muddled Anurag âI have always fought for my love and this time it's not just me but my daughter is at stake too and let me tell you, Anurag, I will not sit here and watch her destroy everything whether you care or notâŠâ She spats before walking out of the room.
Anurag felt paralyzed and realized it was the first time in his life that he hates the word âloveâŠâ more than anything.

Kuki hurried towards the college gate as Prerna will be arriving anytime soon to pick her up, her papa is coming back home today, her and Prerna have to be there before his arrival.
She hurriedly takes a glance at her watch when she collides with the person coming from the front âCanât you seeâŠâ She spats and kneels down to gather her things.
âIt is you againâŠâ she heard an exasperated voice and looked up to see Kaushik standing there leaning over her.
She got up rolling her eyes at him âHis name should be Instant mood destroyer instead of Kaushik no wonder I hate him...â she thought and walked ahead completely ignoring his very existence.
Kaushik got annoyed beyond repair at her attitude âHasnât anyone taught you some mannersâŠâ he said while trailing behind her.
âNo! teachers were busy wasting their time on people like youâŠâ being Bajaj has its perks you are never short on retorts.
Kaushik clenches his jaw and runs up to stand in front of her which brings her steps to halt âWhat?â she snaps
âMy life couldnât be worse since the day I have met youâŠâ he rambles when she interrupts him âAnd after watching your face my life hasnât been a flower bed eitherâŠwhich right now I donât want to watch any more so move asideâŠâ she snarls at him and tries to sidestep him when he puts his arm out and stops her again.
âWhat is your problem with me and what is your Prernaâs problem with my Chachu?â He asks pinning her down with his eyes.
âExcuse meâŠâ suddenly she felt renewed aggression filling her up, a rare expression spreading across her face, as if she was in some military and enemy has dared to cross the border and now, she has to retaliate by extreme measures.
âYes, here you are disturbing the peace of my life and there your Prerna is disturbing the peace of my whole family, canât you keep your Prerna under control⊠OomphâŠâ he couldnât complete his sentence as Kuki conveniently twisted his arm behind his back and pushed him to sidewall.
âOuch, What the hellâŠâ he tries to speak with his face is smashed to the wall.
âYou can say whatever garbage you want to say about me but donât you dare say a word against my Prerna âŠâ she replies while pushing him more into the wall and making him grunt in pain âHey, OuchâŠâ
The ringing of the phone sounded like a ceasefire as she leaves him and realizes she has to rush Prerna would be waiting at the gate for her.
He gasps for air before he pulls himself up and turns around to find her already at the gate climbing in the car âUgh⊠I so freaking hate herâŠâ he yells to himself before running his hand through his hair.
*~*~*~*
Kuki looks out of the carâs window in deep thought. Her family thinks she is unaware of the things going on but she knows more than what meets the eyes.
âAnuragâ the first time she saw him after eight years, it took time but with time she could clearly remember who he is, how can she ever forget âAnuragâ the man her âPrernaâ maa loved, the man who was the sole reason of Prernaâs happiness and the man she subsequently came to hate.
Eight years back she didnât know what went wrong when she met Prerna just nine months after her supposed marriage but even as a child she could sense her brokenness, her mirthless eyes, and her yearning.
She still remembers the moments when she heard Prerna mumble in her sleep âAnurag, mera hath mat choroâŠâ or âAnurag, ne mujhe marne ki koshish ki wo aesa nahi kar saktaâŠâ the sentences that sent a shiver down the spine of little Kuki. She remembers gathering Prerna in her little arms trying to calm her down.
It took time but she was finally able to connect the dots and see the final picture which for her was traumatizing, she couldnât believe that her Prerna maa lost her baby.
She recalls asking Masi about the fact why her papa keeps forcing maa to take medicines or eat healthily and that is when Masi told Kuki she is going to have a little brother or sister to play with.
Kuki chuckled in her head recalling her anticipation, how much her ten-year-old self was looking forward to meeting her supposed sibling. When Prerna arrived in London, she asked her dad twice if she came alone and got the same answer and, upon seeing Prernaâs condition she held herself back from asking about her baby.
She knows how much her Prerna maa has suffered and maybe thatâs the reason she finds her dad and most of the time herself being overprotected about her.
âKukiâŠâPrernaâs voice brings her back from her thoughts and she jerks up âHuhâŠâ
âGhar aagayaâŠâ Prerna chuckles seeing the look on her face âWhere were you lost?â
âI was thinking about how life is gracing your growing self with beauty and my growing self with pimples⊠Donât you think itâs unfair?â She rants while getting out of the car and hears Prernaâs laugh âSo unfair why just pimples there should be acne tooâŠâ
They jostle each other in a friendly way till the enter the house and settle themselves inside with Prerna sitting gracefully on Sofa and Kuki half lying on the sofa and half on the ground.
Prernaâs lips curl up into a smile as she shakes her head âBada babyâŠâ She teases and hears Kukiâs whine at the nickname.
The knock on the entrance draws their attention and both their heads plop up to see Mr.Bajaj standing on the doorstep.
Kuki shrieks âPapaâŠâ before trying to stand up or sit up whichever she was to find easier because right now Bajaj could see her struggling for both and shakes his head with amusement then turns to greet Prerna who was already standing and curiously peeping behind him.
Kuki also managed to stand up and notice little pair of legs behind his father and her eyebrows quirked up in bewilderment.
Bajaj lets out a deep sigh before grabbing little Nehaâs hand who was standing behind him clutching his coat and brings her forward to stand beside him.
Prerna and Kuki peculiarly observed the little humanâs appearance, taller than a foot, undernourished with two jingling ponytails, babyface, doe shaped pair of honey color eyes and a stuffed dog clutched to her chest.
Bajaj felt the anxiety creeping inside of him, never in life, he has felt this much of anxious or nervous and the silence surrounding him wasnât helping his anxiety either so he clears his throat to have their attention and both pair of eyes draw towards him simultaneously.
âShe is going to live with usâŠâ He announces and the look on their faces told him that they were expecting more than what he just said.
He fixes his already fixed coat and turns to Neha and smiles âSay hello to themâŠâ he asks
Neha fixes her gaze on the ladies ogling at her and voices out a little hello while looking down and scratching the floor with her foot.
Prernaâs heart melted at her shyness and she smiles while Kuki stares at her dad trying to comprehend what was going on with him.
âKuki could you please take Neha to your roomâŠâ he asks Kuki and Prerna stills hearing that name and her smile drops.
Kuki passes him a nervous smile before nodding at him and approaching Neha who was already looking at her with hostile eyes and her grip on Max and Bajajâs hand tightens.
Bajaj notices the tension and bends down in front of Neha âYou know Kuki didi also went to the same Disney land your friend Samrat went too⊠she can tell you more about that place, you can ask her anythingâŠâ he saw Nehaâs eyes grow big at the mention of Disney land.
Kuki could see the hostility in her eyes was replaced by wonder and thought âDid papa just announced me the owner of Disney land to herâŠâ
She holds out her hand to her and she takes it still gazing at her with an amazement which made Kuki smile as she walks her to the room.
Bajaj skims his eyes over Prerna who was still in a daze staring into space and walks up to her then holds her by her shoulders and makes her sit on the sofa while seating himself beside her.
He intertwines his hands and starts narrating the whole incident to her eyeing her now and then as he finishes, he sees Prerna putting her head on her hands and closing her eyes trying to regulate her breathing âfor a moment I thought you brought Sneha home, it's impossible yet my heart hoped for it to be trueâŠâ
He holds her wrist which makes her look up at him with eyes full of unshed tears, he put the other hand on her face âIâm really sorry PrernaâŠâ âhe emphasizes.
Prerna shrugs her head and holds his hands âWhat is that you are going to tell Kuki?â she asks in an anxious voice.
Bajaj tightens the grip on her hand and looks up at the ceiling before letting out a sigh and replying to her with a shrug âNo ideaâŠâ
*~*~*~*
Bajaj finally found Kuki sitting on the abandoned staircase which leads to the back gate and descends down to sit one step above her.
âYou are angry with me?â he asks
She picks her head from her arms and nods her head in negative but didnât turn to look at him.
He sighs âYou know it wonât be wrong if you are angry with me you have every right to be upset?
Kuki exhales âPapaâŠâ his heart sank hearing that sorrowful voice âPapa, you know I would have been really angry with you if I wouldnât have known you so wellâŠâ She gulps trying to keep her tears at bay âYou remember the day I burned my hand and came down to show youâŠâ she recalls and his face shows he recalled it too
âYou were so composed and told me it is not a big deal that day I was so upset you never behaved like that, Prerna was so concerned yet you pretended it was a small thingâŠâ She sniffs âI couldnât sleep that night because of the way you behaved than at midnight you came and I pretended to be asleep because I was angry at you and you held my hand you blew over it and repeatedly said you were sorry, it must have hurtâŠâ She sobs
Bajaj shuts his eyes over the memory he didnât check she was up because he was so desperate to see if she was okay.
âThat day I knew you were up to somethingâŠâ She spoke wiping the tears trickling down her face with her sleeve âYou told Prerna you couldnât make it to my racing competition and yet I saw you standing in the corner away from the crowd, and you still have the catalog of my childish drawings in your cupboardâŠâ more tears stream down her face.
âWhen I was hospitalized due to kidney infection you were pretending to be so unbothered yet I can hear you threatening the doctor outside of the roomâŠâ she sobs, â You said âif I have to kill myself to save my daughterâs life I will die without an ounce of regretââŠâ
She turns her head to look at him whose eyes were red from trying to hold his tears back which made her cry more âPapa I would have been so upset if I wouldnât have known you so wellâŠâ she weeps loudly this time.
Bajaj gathers her in his arms as she weeps on his chest while his tears got absorbed in her hair, he kept on kissing her head while whispering âIâm sorryâŠâ to which she shakes her head in negative every time.
She sniffs and looks up to see him âand you still carry around the papa smurf I gave you as lucky charmâŠâ then pulls out a little papa smurf figurine from the inner pocket of his coat, they both chuckle at the same time seeing the little smurf.
She wipes her tears then proceeds to wipe his tears âBut you have to make it up to me by taking me to the beach and buliding a sandcastle with me tooâŠâ he laughs while hugging her again âWhatever you say, BachaâŠâ

I personally loved wiring this chapter the most... I have to proofread it but this was the idea I was to put and I haven't thought about the storyline either... am I showing Komolika changing... I don't know maybe or maybe it could all be her facade... let's wait and read l and let me know how it was.
Beautiful update Diya
I have always loved the bond between Bajaj and Kukki and their scene in this update is just â€ïž
I loved every bit of it because this is how I have always imagined or wanted them to be. I so wish CVs could pick this exact scene and show us on TV screen one day. Beautiful conversation..
Thank you Diyađ€
so finally Sneha I mean Neha came home and Kuki is upset. rather not but just overwhelmed đ I loved the scene of hers with Bajju đ very emotional. đ€
Aww loved the Kukki and Bajaj scene. Hope to get more of these.
Update soon
Lovely updateđlove kuki and mr bajaj scene the mostđđŒ
Honestly, at first I didnât really care about the first part of the chapter because Anulika đ€
But as I skimmed through it, it was actually kind of refreshing to see another side of Komolika. To see some growth and development in her character. Because in the Serial, they want so bad to let her be the villain, that she ended up being a character thatâs stuck without any movement. And Anurag ? He needed to hear all that Komolika said, to finally get his head out of his a*s. Yes I understand he is living in guilt, but seriously though itâs still a bakwas move going to the bridge and all. But whatever about that đ€Ł
Looovvee, thank youu thank you for the Daddy-Daughter moment. As Iâve said before, I told you I hope Kukki didn't get mad and jealous right. And the way youâve cleared that between them was beautifully done ! I love how Kukki is an observant child (because theyâre making 18 year old Kukki look like a bimbo in the serial). I loved how she realized all that is happening around her. Yes it was traumatizing for a 10 year old, and she had to grow up quickly emotionally. But at least sheâs not living in a fantasy world. And Iâm also happy with how you made Kukki feels secure with her fathersâ love. Yes she was upset a little bit, I would be too if SUDDENLY my father brought back a little baby sister for me after 18years of being Papa ki Ladli. And now she has to share đ
But you made that transition beautifully and the little humor about going to the beach â„ïžđ„°
After this Iâm hoping for more of Mr Bajaj at home seeing as they have the little one with them now. Also maybe a Daddy-Daughter date for Rishab and Kukki just to make her feel better and make their bond stronger. Maybe at the same time when Neha is left with Prerna, they can start their own bond đ„°â„ïž
Just throwing out some ideas đ
Anyways, greaat job ! Will be eagerly waiting for next update đ„°â„ïž
Awesomeđloved it especially the conversation between kukki and her papa. Its so cute.
Really awesome you made me emotional dear
đđđđđđđ
And the mature father -daughter bonding was something else
I can say with surety that Bajaj is the world's best dad after reading your story. â€ïž
Do update soon
And take care dear
Dont go outside. Stay safe
