A/N: Hey, this idea had been in my brain since a long time now. The itch had to be scratched, so here is my first every PreRish ficlet. Please suggest a title too if you can. I am really bad at titles. Positive criticism is always welcome!
Prerna had enough. She had enough of everything, enough with all the plotting and planning against here. It was only her true love Anurag Basu at first, but later all hoped on the wagon, his mother, his sister and his so called darling wife. She was fed up of everything, she had put up with her misery ridden life, but she could not bear it any longer. She had to take a stand for her. That’s what her upbringing taught her, be nice to everyone and people will be nice to you. It was as is destiny was mocking her upbringing. The Basus had done nothing except give her pain and heartbreak.
She just had enough. She had to take a stand for herself now. She had to stand up for herself and her self-respect. She had to stop taking the tantrums from everybody. She just had to give herself some respect and love. She had stopped loving and caring for herself since the day she entered this fateful house. But God was not so merciless; he did give her a loving husband, Rishabh Bajaj. But that was the only compensation she had. The one person, her Anurag Basu who meant the world to her and was going to fulfill her dreams, cared none. She was the outsider in his family; while she was supposed to be his family.
She had decided to take a stand.
She was so in depression that for her even to get out of the misery, suicide was also an option. But that is what cowards do, that is what she thought. She was never a coward, she was a fighter, and she was fighting till now and will fight the odds that God will throw at her. She was not all alone in this journey. Her husband,stood like a rock behind her, helping her achieve everything she wanted. So fora better and simple future she had taken a decision that would involve everyone.But she had to do it for her sake. As for now, only her wishes and her life mattered, not anyone else's. She had done many sacrifices for her family and her so-called ex-lovers family.
Anurag Basu, the man who buried all her dreams,every single one of them the day he pushed her from the bridge, separated her from her daughter. Separated a mother from the baby, that’s a line you don’t cross Mr. Anurag Basu. She had taken her revenge. She knew the truth but did it matter now? Did it make her forget that she was separated from her baby when the baby needed her the most, the simple answer was no. Honestly, the truth didn’t even matter after 8 long years. It didn’t matter why Anurag pushed her, why he kept Sneha away and why did he marry Komolika. She did love Anurag but she wasn’t in love with him. She would lie if she said that. She had fallen in love with her husband of 8 long years.
She had finally realised the difference between her husband and Anurag. Anurag tried to control her, her husband gave her freedom. Anurag tried to claim her, her husband had given her the freedom to claim him. Anurag had clipped her wings, her husband not only gave her wings, but taught her to fly. Anurag made her obey him, his dreams were laden on her, her husband told her to dream and helped her achieve her dreams. Anurag, she respected him because he was her lover, but her husband commanded respect. Anurag claimed to love her, but her husband proved that he loved her.
She wanted to look Anurag in the eye and tell him what she felt, about how she loved him, how she cared for him and was hoping against hope that things would work in her favor all those years ago, but today how she was in love with someone else, how she was happy. But that would mean talking to him again which she wanted to avoid. She was leaving Kolkatta with her husband and their daughters. She just wrote down a simple letter.

It was nice knowing you and thank you for giving me some fantastic memories to cherish. But life can’t be spent living on memories and dreams, cause living life is real. Memories and dreams are not.
We came together because of our love and were about to get married. But only we know, that we will never be able to establish that relation. It’s clear, you are in love with Komolika, and you try hard as may, you can’t erase the very fact that you married her and have a daughter with her. As much as that is true, it’s equally true that I love Mr. Bajaj!
You know Anurag, our relationship failed because we both managed to properly communicate. failed because you didn't support me. I accept my mistakes too.
Its over Anurag.
It is officially over. The court proceedings may take a while, but that will be legally the end when you will forever vanish from my life and my daughter’s. She was Mr. Bajaj’s daughter and will always be. For me, it was over the day you pushed on me.

As she kept the pen down, Rishabh walked in.
Rishabh:“Chalein?”
Prerna didn’t reply but looked up and intertwined their hands and walked out of the house with her family and the man she had fallen in love with!
