Hey all! Teju here. I am new to this forum but old to KZK. I was wondering if most people here have watched kzk season 1...because everyone seems shocked that bajaj is being 'whitewashed' (i dont think he needs to be but ok). wasnt this the whole premise of the story? that despite of the love that they shared, prerna chooses the stability and security of love that mr bajaj represents and makes a life with him? then why the outrage?
Plus, KZK season 1 bajaj did so much worse. 1) prerna-anu already had a kid and still he forced prerna to give up her kid to be a mother to his kids. this bajaj toh fully agreed to accept prerna with her kid still inside her- as his family + he had other motivations not just wanting prerna's nanny service. 2) the other bajaj had a child who at one point of time was a romantic interest of anurag's. bajaj was atleast 20 years older than prerna. here bajaj is maybe 8 years older. his firstborn child will be 5 years older than prerna's firstborn. thats pretty normal in comparison. 3) the previous bajaj was weird on MANY accounts but his redemption was that anurag was just worse. this bajaj actually has a lot more depth and softness as a character. i think ronit roy is amazing and despite of ALL the times prerna would be like- anurag and then back track to bajaj in s1, he ALWAYS stood by prerna and sneha when anu didnt- that was the biggest plus point there. here toh the character himself has a backstory and a struggle. as a dad he is just adorable. so i guess im infinitely more into this bajaj than i was into the last one in s1.
I did not want to honestly watch this childhood nightmare but then caught an epi channel surfing 2 weeks ago. bajaj seemed hella human and not like a cray old man. so thought y not. caught up with 200 epis in 2 weeks. komolika and bajaj are both a lot more human with deeper motivations in this than they were in the previous seasons. looks like even EK is catering to millenials. but idk if i like prerna's story arc. the previous season was extremely empowering cos they built prerna up in many ways that were unheard of back then- whether it was her business acumen or choice to live as a single mother or her choice to live with a male friend outside of marriage. comparatively this journey is very shallow and has been largely more just love centric. i think her story really needs bajaj at this point to have her grow in areas outside of wanting her man and fighting for her man. looking forward to chatting here!
