Hey, my name is Samaira. I've been a silent reader. I have been a heart core fan of KZK 1 & KSG(ArSh/ KaSh). I think I have watched almost every Ekta Kapoor show at least those that started with K. My favourite was Kaise Yeh Pyar Hai(Angad-Kripa). I use to ship Prerna with both Anurag and Mr Bajaj(after 20 years leap). I keep changing my mind, which one I shipped more. Sneha and Mr Bajaj relationship was one of my favourite parts of the show. My character was Prem/Yudi(Mother India!). Of all the characters death, Mukti's death was the one that I'm still mad about. (My Prem-Mukti🥺😭)

On to the the new season so far Kamolika and Mr Bajaj are my favourite characters. (I usually tend to like grey or antagonist character)Not a fan of goodie-two-shoes or self-sacrifices characters. I’m huge PreRish shipper. In the recent episodes, Prerna is annoying me so much with her crying sessions. It was your decision Prerna. You've made your bed, now lie on it. There two things Prerna could do (what I mean is what she should do instead of crying) right now is either tell the whole truth to the Basus & her family (which she should've have done instead of coming to Swiz) or she try to find why Mr Bajaj is doing all of this. Prerna get a degree and then maybe a job. I want her to do anything other listening to people taunts and crying for Anurag. Heck Prerna should go and spy on Mr Bajaj at least it would be more productive and interesting to watch. Before Prerna fans get bad and say that bashing her. I do like her too. But she is kind of annoying me lately. Sorry if I hurt your feelings.

And Oh don't even start me on the slap scene. I hated the whole thing. Why the hell was she smiling? I recently had an urge to watch old Bollywood movies (don't ask why) which is weird because I haven’t really watched many since my 11th grade (for almost 7 years). Even then only I use to watch when my friends make me(emotional blackmail). So decided to binge-watch them(instead of Netflix) and I didn't know that there were so many movies that had a male protagonist slapping the female protagonist. And I have watched those movies multiple times. The only ones that I remember were Devdas in which he hits Paro with jewelry and the slap scene in Shaadi Kar Ke Phas Gaya Yaar. This happened in so many other movies like Hulchul, One 2 Ka 4, Gehri Chot and many more. It happen in a recent movie which had Jhanvi Kapoor in it. The only thing that I remember about that movie was that it has remix version of the song Zingaat. What kind of message are they trying covey? Are they trying to normalize physical violence?

Can someone please make an index PreRish FF/SS/TS/OS. It will be much easier to find them.

P.S I don't like the title but couldn't think of any other.

Zingaat was a different movie altogether. In Dhadak, I think it's female protagonist's family's male members- her father & brothers, who were physically abusive to her & in the end killed her husband & child. Both movies were about honour killing. The movie was meant to highlight that & not glorify the violence.

In Devdas too, Devdas's act was not meant to glorify but how far had he gone in his own madness & indecisiveness to hurt Paro who wasn't at any fault.

Same with Wuthering Heights where the love of Catherine & Heathcliffe is so toxic that it destroys both & they don't realize it till the end.

Same with Tess of the d'Urbevilles, Picture of Dorian Grey & many others. Same with Harry Potter where Hermione attacks Ron with birds in book 6 when he gets into relationship with Lavender & how she couldn't handle Ron doing it at that moment.

Often madness is shown in human beings by self-destructive behavior or such forms of psychological & physical abusive behavior.

I am a literature & psycology person who kind of studies such behavior in the characters to understand human psycology on broad level.

P.S- look for PreRish FFs in Karica ATs. There is the whole index there.

Zinghaat one it's soundtrack. I do remember there was a scene where the main lead hits the her. Maybe I might've mistaken for some other movie.

As Devdas I only give It's example one I hate that scene and two it was one the movie which I remembered. I know it wasn't glorifying it.

Heathering heights one one my all time favourite book.

But my point is people who watch these movies, shows they do try copy it real life. Because to them those actors/actresses are there idol. From clothes to attitude. When we see something over and over again it stop being an issue and end up being normalized.

I remember when I changed my school in 11 grade. The students in my new school were very open about everything. The language they use was horrible. Cursing during conversation was normal. I didn't even realize when I started behaving like them. Before that I hated cigarette smoke but after fews months there I went to smoke hookah.

What we see, hear and read does affect our behaviour.

There was a video I think it was on YouTube where teenager was telling how her boyfriend hits her and it proves that he truly loves her. Her young followers was actually believing it. She unless your boyfriend doesn't hit you he doesn't love. After a while she broke up with him because he wasn't hitting her harder. I was like WT-. She was brainwashing young impressionable followers.

That's where it's important to teach the difference between reel & real. Many people don't draw the line there. That'd where real guidance & experience is needed to establish a healthy individual with correct senses.

As for your last example, the girl seems to have a different understanding about love & sex. Probably, she might be into BDSM because there are people who are into that stuff and have that sort of sexual preferences. For many BDSM looks a clear cut violence but I have been trying hard to understand the psycology of those who prefer BDSM because it's not illegal & there are couples who are in consensual relationships like that.

True. People do have a problem differentiating between two things. I don't know if you heard about but the actress who is gonna play Batwoman on The CW end up getting a lot of hate tweets to a point where she deleted her account. They didn't even release the trailer at that time yet people were attacking her. She said in an interview how excited she was for getting this role. I felt so bad for her.

I'm not sure what I feel about BDSM anymore. The thing is when I was going through the whole suicidal/self-harm/depression phrase it was something that fascinated me. Since I'm taking meds I'm in a much better place. Also, people find it weird that I talk about it so casually. BDSM doesn't make me feel the same. Have you read Eleven Minutes by Paulo Coelho?

I did hear about the batwoman news headlines. But I think batwoman looked like an woke attempt to gender-neutralize an established character which was male. I wouldn't feel too good if they ever came up with Catman or Wonderman, Black/White Canary male, Black Widow male. These are all female characters & I want them to remain so & I would hate if they ever tried to do male version of it. I think we can come up with more new female superhero characters instead lf recycling the old ones in a new bottle. That would create a whole new excitement like Danaerys, Sansa, Arya did ij GOT.

But the actress who was playing Batwoman should have not been subjected to such cyber bullying. The show should have been given a chance. There was a time when TVD, Originals, Arrow, Constantine, Legends of Tomorrow, Flash rocked, now not so much. I lost interest in them long time ago.

No, I haven't read the book. But I have watched Submission, that show is all about BDSM. I did read fifty shades but it wasn't convincing & I didn't like the whole romance arc that played out so quickly. There was this French short film on the same theme & it was very difficult to watch & ending left me shocked. For me even though the theme is fascinating but I can't wrap my head around that sort of thing & the whole arc in reality.

Batwoman/Kate Kane is cousin of Batman/Bruce Wayne in comics. They're not changing the gender. Plus DC is way to possisive/protective of Batman character. They won't let TV writer use it because it might screwed up. DCEU have already done it if you ask me. Batman doesn't kill that was the most important part of his character and story. A lot of things happen because his no killing rule that affected many Batfamily members(there are a lot).

I lost interest in all the CW shows that I use to watch (Arrow, Flash, Legends, Supergirl & Riverdale). TVD & TO are still one of favourite.

I read Fifty shades trilogy. It's the worst thing that I have ever. I didn't wanted to read after 1st book but I also wanted to finish it. Plus when she ask him to show him his worst he just hits her a few times. That's the worst he could do. Don't start on wierd sentences that book had :- I'm 50 shades of f- uped. What does that even mean. Twilight is second on my most hated list. I can't believe I use to be a fan of it. It has everything what your bf/gf shouldn't do to you. Stalking, watching while someone is sleeping without their permission, forcing them to take part in things they don't like, controling who they can meet etc.

I lost twilight after she kissed Jacob & said she was in love with both. I was like what the hell is that. One of the reasons I was fan of Twilight was because I loved Robert Pattinson in Harry Potter.

But I loved Alice & Jasper, Rose-Emmett in twilight. I loved Ashley Greene who played Alice after Twilight.

It's not worth talking about FSOG trilogy. It could have been good if James hadn't tried so hard to make it romance novel later. But FSOG was originally a twilight fiction only which was later published as a different book.

I have watched Nolan's Dark Knight Trilogy, so don't know much in detail about the actual comics. And I loved it and Batwoman would be good if they avoided some obvious troops. I am now excited for Joker movie. He is a fascinating character. Heath played a psycopathic joker but new Joker will be sociopathic.

I loved TVD but lost interest after season 5. Originals was my favorite especially Klaus-Caroline and Bajaj-Pre remind me of them here on some level. Same with Arrow, couldn't watch it after season 4. Couldn't watch Flash after season 1.

Komolika wasn't a grey character, was she?

What we see, read and hear sure affects our minds. However, it is on us to let it affect to what extent and in which way which we can not expect from kids and teens who are accessible to almost every damn thing today which brings their parents in the picture. Guidance becomes extremely important in such cases. I've left putting it on the writers for the abusive and sick stuff they write without caring about its effect on the viewers for they just don't care. They don't.

I know right. Choose who love you. What was she think using kiss to stop him from fighting. Your boyfriend is right there. I'm not huge fan of movies. I love the actor who played Dumbledore in first movie. I thought he was perfect. The one after him wasn't right. Plus they changed Dumbledore's character. He doesn't shout at Harry in Goblet of fire unlike movies. Dumbledore is always calm and he never loses his temper in books.

Rose and Jasper ended up becoming the one that I liked in the entire series. I also feel really bad for Charlie.

Nolan's Dark Trilogy is not only best Batman movies but also DC too. That movie had my favourite Joker. I'm looking forward to the solo movie. Although no one can Heath Ledger version.

I stopped watching TVD after Nina left. Even though I wasn't a fan of Elena. I was more Katherine fan. I watched TO until the end. The was terrible and beautiful at the same time. Klaus, Katherine & Kol were my favourite characters. My favourite ships were Klaus and Caroline, Damon-Elena (even though don't her character anymore), Damon-Bonnie, Damon-Katherine, Kol-Davina, Rebekah-Marcel, Elijah-Katherine & Elijah-Haley. I kind of forgive Elijah in the end.

I stopped watching Arrow after season 6 & The Flash mid-season 5. Both Arrow & Flash season 4 was horrible.
