Where is Prerna's family originally from?

Aren't Prerna's family originally from Kolkata? At least that's what i always thought.

But in tonight's episode, Prerna's dad was speaking in some different native language with Prerna after their pooja ... which is making me wonder where is Prerna's family originally from?

Please clarify me guys.

In the actual show, Prerna's family lived in Kolkata but were actually from North India.

In KZK1, The story was set in Mumbai. Basus were bengalis and sharmas were from Punjab.
But in KZK2, it seems they are from UP

@Bold Yes i also felt the same from the way Prerna's dad was speaking. It gave me Kanpur kind vibes.
