Q On the professional front you have achieved a lot in these seven years, but your personal life has hit an all-time low. Do you have any regrets? No. I believe in the old saying that whatever happens, happens for the best. Life is not a happy journey always. It comes with both good and bad days and you've got to be prepared for both. I don't think a happy phase lasts for long. No, I don't have any regrets. Q Do you regret that Kasauti Zindagi Kay has come to an end? No, I don't. How many serials run for seven years? Many shows that came after Kasauti shut shop much before Kasauti did. It was a huge success and I am glad that I was part of a hugely successful show. The best thing is that it ended at the right time. Q Did you feel sad? Do you miss it? Yes, I did feel sad because it had become my routine, which got broken. I was so used to it that I didn't know what to do after the last day of shooting. But I enjoyed it immensely. The character's range was amazing. Q Didn't you get bored of doing the same role for seven years? I did get bored. But even if I got bored of the routine, it was my responsibility. It was my show and I had to do it. It's like living life. You get bored of doing the same things at home. Still you wake up in the morning and do household chores and head to work. Q Post-Kasauti why did you choose to do Naagin? It was just a cameo and ended in three episodes. Q You have been a part of two reality shows before. What made you take part in Yeh Hai Jalwa? I liked the show's format where celebrities are participants as well as mentors. The idea of being a teacher, choreographer and team leader excited me the most. There are no judges and the show is all about the celebrities' teaching capabilities. Q You are a good dancer. Are you also a good teacher and choreographer? I like dancing but I am not a good dancer. I know only four thumkas. But I am a good learner. Since I am not a good dancer, I am not a good dance teacher either, neither a good choreographer. But I am going to try it out with the help of an assistant. Q Your team members are housewives. Are they good dancers? No, they are not professional dancers. They have only danced at weddings and family functions. They have never faced the camera before. But I am teaching them how to present themselves before the camera, how to perfect their moves and get the right coordination and expressions. Q Who are your strongest competitors? The show has the best of television celebrities. Some of them are reality show winners and some are very good dancers. I think I am the weakest competitor. Q When are you planning to do your next fiction show? Yeh Hai Jalwa will keep me occupied for some time. I am getting lot of offers but nothing sounds interesting. It will take me at least two to three months to plan my next step. Q Will it be a Balaji show? I have kept my options open. But I don't think my next serial will be a Balaji show. |
